A simple job and a $3,000 watch is damaged. I needed a link removed from my new watch, and it was…read moreobviously beyond this store's abilities. I am far too trusting and thought, "jeweler little special watch tools, experience..." WRONG. I should have left when I saw that the store was filled with old junk trinkets for sale everywhere. To adjust this watch band required skills and abilities far beyond what this place offers. Each link has a small screw at either side... well when it was handed back to me after waiting a half hour, it all seemed find and correctly done. They only charged five dollars, so I was happy...oops that was the second red flag. Within a week two screws on two different links fell off, and I could have lost the watch, but fortunately I was at home. But those screws are tiny and gone. Now I have to bring a brand new watch in to have the band serviced, at a top of the line watch repair. It will be over $100. I have one screw they can cannibalize from the one removed link. The old couple that runs the joint are very nice, and if I had a typical less than $100.00 value watch, I would let them change the battery...maybe. I didn't really want to leave a review, but people need to be warned, I wish I had read more bad and truthful reviews, and then I wouldn't have innocently wandered in, ouch! Maybe they are fine to work with costume jewelry and inexpensive watches... but be very careful bringing anything of value here.

It arrived quickly but when I opened the box and pulled it out, the necklace snapped in two like a twig. When I inspected the jewelry I could see it was poorly made. The stones were unevenly set. The diamonds were only soldered together in their settings. There was no reinforcement on the piece either in the back or the top to make it more secure. It felt flimsy and cheap. It felt like I could keep bending it and popping off diamonds with little force. I emailed customer service and they admitted the poor quality of their jewelry. They said they would redesign the item to make it better. They even provided illustrations of the updates they made to the item. However, I didn't feel like I could trust them. Why would I trust a company that sells substandard jewelry? The only reason they thought to improve the quality of the item was because it broke. Who knows how many other flimsy pieces of jewelry they have on their website? I explained that I wasn't satisfied with the bare minimum resolution to this issue and expected a discount for my time and inconvenience. They refused. I decided not to proceed with the purchase. I don't believe this is a company that can be trusted. They are selling substandard products. And, even more embarrassingly, they have no shame. Lab diamonds are getting cheaper by the day and they have many competitors. Please look elsewhere for quality jewelry!

Eddie and Paul of Marco Polishing provided me with incomplete service and extremely rude…read morecommunication. I paid $340 to have a watch replated, and Paul promised it would be ready in a week. On the day of pickup, they called last-minute to say they needed more time, leaving me waiting outside for hours. I waited hours on the streets of the Diamond District because they have no waiting area for a total of four hours for the watch to dry. I had to cancel appointments due to their unfortunate timing and communication. Finally, Paul called to say the watch needed even more time to set and offered for me to wait or have it mailed. After wasting the entire day, I agreed to have it mailed. Eventually, they mailed the watch, but it arrived in ruined condition, looking nothing like before. I called Paul to express my dissatisfaction with the finished product. It felt like they mailed the watch knowing they ruined it to avoid dealing with the issue in person. I requested a refund for the work, despite the watch being beyond repair. Paul said he needed to speak to his supervisor, Eddie, about the refund. After a week of being ignored, I finally spoke to Eddie, who was incredibly rude and dismissive. As a matter fact EDDIE WAS BEYOND RUDE, treating me as though I was the one at fault. He repeatedly interrupted me while I tried to explain the situation, making it clear he had no interest in hearing me out. His attitude was dismissive, as if I was a complete inconvenience and wasting his precious time. It was shockingly unprofessional. He offered a mere $20 credit for a completely botched job. This place is untrustworthy, and I strongly advise against entrusting them with any valuable items. If you're thinking about getting your jewelry fixed, RUN the other way! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT THE PLACE! And whatever you do, don't trust EDDIE with your expensive items--he'll treat them like trash!
