While driving around Tennessee, we came across this restaurant. It is very cute. What you would think you would find on the country side of Tennessee. They had a live band, which was very loud so while they were playing it was very hard to have a conversation. the food was excellent we each hadonion rings fried okra, fried pickles, pulled pork sandwiches. We went on a weekend with family in town and it was good. We weren't too hungry for fried food in the heat, but the ice cream cones were PERFECT! It was easy enough to seat ourselves out on the patio on the weekend, maybe because it was really hot? They had live music going on inside but we couldn't hear too much of it outside. fun place, and they have good appetizers. we ordered the fried pickles and onion rings and they were tasty. nothing too special but they were still good. we didn't have the best service when we were there. when you walk in, there are usually menus sitting there so you can decide on what to order and then go up to the ordering counter. however, there were NO menus sitting on the table to look at so we walked up to the ordering counter and grabbed a menu there. keep in mind there was NO ONE behind us so we were not holding up the line in any way shape or form. the lady at the register was visibly annoyed and was rushing us. saying things like "haven't decided yet?" and other things along those lines and rolling her eyes. we also did not take long to order at all! also, please keep in mind we were nothing but nice to this lady, we said "hi, how are you" and other pleasantries but her attitude was just off and it effected our experience. obviously i know working service is challenging sometimes and i don't expect everyone to be jumping for joy every time they see me, but I don't expect to get treated like i'm a problem when i did nothing to you. still a fun place to go, especially for the live music and i would still recommend this place! read more

Drove to Leiper's Fork and this was our first stop. It immediately felt like we were in Gatlinburg or another country small town in TN. The live music/band was so energetic and engaging. We loved it! The brisket & pulled pork were fantastic. Skip the Mac n cheese and try something else, the mashed potatoes were absolutely fire though! This is such a cute place! Much better than Puckett's! We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning and it was perfect. You walk in and place your order at the register. They give you a number and you find a table to sit at. There was plenty available around 9am on a Sunday. I ordered Homers burrito and my boyfriend ordered the Kingfield. He subbed hashbrown casserole for the home fries. He both LOVED our food. We also got a cinnamon roll to split. It was so soft and delicious! Much better than the dried out Puckett's cinnamon roll. Now, I'm no food critic, but I do consider myself something of a meatloaf connoisseur. So, when I heard whispers of Fox & Locke's legendary smoked meatloaf, I knew I had to investigate. Upon entering the establishment, I was greeted by a jovial hostess who took my order and called me darlin'. I could hardly contain my excitement as I perused the menu, but my eyes were immediately drawn to the star of the show: the meatloaf. When it arrived, I took one bite and was instantly transported to meatloaf nirvana. It was smoky, it was savory, and it was everything I'd hoped for and more. I may or may not have shed a tear of joy. But wait, there's more! As I was basking in the glory of the meatloaf, I noticed a fellow diner enjoying what appeared to be the most divine grilled cheese sandwich known to humankind. I couldn't resist--I had to order the pimento grilled cheese. And let me tell you, this was no ordinary grilled cheese. Now, I've had sweet potato fries before, but these were on a whole other level. I'll start with saying it takes me 3 bad experiences to prevent me from returning.. -Good parts: a cute local haven, little-known celebrity hotspot with a welcoming ~mostly* ha atmosphere with an *elevated menu (so many options for the dietary restricted and health conscious clients.) This checks off a few imperative boxes as far as places I'd recommend. This country divey bar is perfectly nestled in the heart of Leipers Fork. The scene during lunch Wed-Fri and the live music Fri-Sunday is worth going to for sure! Saturdays 12-3pm are my favorite to go see Jack Daniel and the Hard Lickers! I've had some amazing servers and bartenders mostly any time I've been there during the day or at night to grab a to go order. I will say be sure to check your food before leaving, they can be a bit vague (either due to the person helping you or the decibel level of the music and people being too loud to hear.) This was a go to place for me- until today :/ I went in with my mom to order food to go as we needed something quickly after the 12-3 PM live music and shopping at a MUST SEE place called Moo Country, just down the Main Street and behind the corner shops on the right side of the road. I ordered to go food after spending 45 minutes trying to call on two different phones and place an order. Which is how I usually place the order. No one answered the phone and I figured they were very busy or some thing. I finally decided to walk in to the restaurant to order, and there were no tables occupied and nobody in line. I asked if they had a phone, already knowing that they did, and the kid responded with " Uh I think so, sorry I'll uh ask my manager about that." I could tell he was maybe new or some thing, but I said my order is simply as I could, and he did not repeat it back to us which I should've mentioned, but he quoted us 10 minutes, and as we waited triple that for our food. I was looking at the merchandise which, by the way is very cute (would recommend.) I found a glass I liked, and since I knew it would be a while for our food, and I wanted to check the food to go before we left (since the last two to-go orders were incorrect and we found out after they closed.) As we wait and I look at their merch, a high school-aged gal w/ braces and tinsel woven into her bleach blond hair (c a hostess, who can work the register, not wise or old enough to be a interacting with guests) helped take my items to the register. She said "I'm ready for you to pay." I said I needed a tew minutes to decide. After 2 minutes, she says " I can ring you up." Meanwhile I am clearly on the phone. They were gonna be a gift I'd have to ship cross country. I'm a transplant from Los Angeles and I've traveled a lot. Customer service is some thing that is very important to me. I did leave a large cash tip in the jar prior to buying these glasses, as we had already closed out our tab for the food. I did not mind waiting so long for the food until was she was outwardly aggressive as if they were closing in the next 10minutes (they're open all night for reference.) She asked if we already paid for food or if we had a number... I'd understand the hustle if there were any other clients in the restaurant, in line or that needed help. (there were four other staff members available.) Her tone, an attitude was extremely rude, unprofessional, and a horrible reflection of what I knew to be a consistent, fun-loving place. I gracefully let her know that I was going to pay for the items after I checked the food because I wanted to make sure that it was correct and then until then she could hold off because I was also making sure it was what my friend wanted, and she had a nasty response. When we did get our food, it was wrong. I found someone else to help, she was very professional and kind. I hope no one else has this experience. We loved this place! Great vibe Saturday midday, folks drifting in from walking around Leiper's Fork shops and galleries, live music about to crank up, and really, really good food. My wife had a bunless cheeseburger that was more than she could eat, but not because she didn't want to, while the rest of us had bbq. Best brisket I have had in forever (apologies to my good Texas friends who say theirs is superior), and the sides were exceptional: collard greens and the sweetest little baby lima beans, and that cornmeal pancake! You order at the counter on the way in, then place any beer/wine/mixed drink orders at the bar, and servers bring your food to your table. Unfortunately, this will be a very short review since I only had the barbecue sandwich. Although I have been to Leiper's Fork, this is the first time eating at this restaurant. As I said in my email, the barbecue is OFF THE CHAIN! I came here to get local tourist spots for my artwork, but I know this is a favorite of the locals. Even though a bit of a drive for me, I hope to return again and try a little more at this place. I really do t like driving in the dark so didn't stay for the night music but so suppose they have some afternoon music sometimes. HORRIBLE experience! We paid for four seats (which doesn't include food, and is non refundable and non exchangeable)...and when we show up a little bit late, OUR SEATS WERE GIVEN AWAY! When we told the waitress, she pointed us to our seats and made us talk to the people! When I talked with the people they were sooo rude and mad at us for "kicking them out" even though we were trying to be nice and apologetic about it. Also, our table was covered in opened beer bottles and a pitcher of water for the table (OUR TABLE AND OUR WATER) that was completely already drank. She didn't bus our table, didn't fill up the water, and didn't even clear off their beers! To put it bluntly, they need to get their freaking act together! read more

Ok so to really appreciate this place you need to know a few things... First of all, it is historic. Started as a country store, Fox and Locke. Then was purchased by the Puckett's who maintained the store and kept business as usual till the early 2000's when they began showcasing live music. We always go on Thursday-Saturday to enjoy the live music. During the pandemic, this was the only place around offering a sense of normalcy! Generally the presenting artists have a bit of a country flair, and often add in the blues. In my opinion, we've heard some of the best music around Nashville come from this tiny little stage. Yes, there is a cover charge because they want to support local artists! It's kind of a "know before you go" thing and if someone is upset about the cover charge, they should have done some due diligence. Second, the food is southern, traditional, and good! Not the best meat and 3 I've ever had, but certainly enjoyable. When they're busy, of course, service takes a little longer than you might like. But it's still good food! The new management have recently revamped everything from the signage to the menus but still have kept the original Puckett's feel. We will continue to be patrons and love this place dearly. read more
