The auto sales industry has a reputation for using high pressure, bait & switch, abd other unsavory sales tactics. I am pleased to say I experienced none of that. Anthony was great from our first "window shopping" visit to test drives to sales negotiation to delivery of our new Tucson. He was always very helpful and made the entire process a great experience. Be very careful. These guys will be really nice getting into a lease, but abuse you on the back end. I purchased the excess wear and tear insurance through them and they refused to help, leading me to paying thousands in lease termination fees. we were really in a pickle, and I find it hard to believe there was no way we could be squeezed in at least to be diagnosed to know whether to start the Long treck home or whether to extend our stay and get the car repaired if it was broken. It was running in reverse and forward very very choppy. We're not sure we think it might've been the emergency break versus the regular brakes, but I'm very sorry to be leaving for home in the morning without a check In by Hyundai. It actually smells like some kind of wiring burned. I'm very skeptical as to whether we make it home, but my husband has decided we are leaving tomorrow regardless ....and perhaps we'll find a Hyundai dealer that can take a look at our Sonata on the way back home. I did appreciate that Luke contacted me and did give us an alternate mechanic garage but since we've only ever had our vehicle serviced by Hyundai, unfortunately it didn't work out. read more

We have purchased two Hyundai within 1.5 years from Fox Ann Arbor Hyundai. That tells you how much we love our salesperson Anthony! He truly cares about his customers. I appreciate his transparency and support throughout the buying process. Marius was really helpful too. He was friendly, professional and patient. I didn't feel the typical pushy selling at any point. I did contact Feldman Hyundai New Hudson prior to meeting Anthony since they are part of the Costco Car Program. I thought I would get a better deal through Costco. One salesperson told me that the Palisade Hybrid I wanted is part of the Costco program on Friday, then Monday a different salesperson told me it is excluded from the program. Also this person was rude via chat. So I went back to Anthony. One thing though, I wish their service department opens on Saturdays :P. read more

Customer service is seriously lacking in the service department. I arrived at 8:15 am this morning and didn't leave until almost 5:30 pm. I actually did the appointment online because it said I had a recall, however when I got there I was informed that all the recalls were done from my previous visit sometime last year. I proceeded to let them know that I had a burning smell and I wanted them to check it out. Turns out, I needed additional work. After the recommendation was sent to me via text, I agreed on some of the recommended services and signed off on $545.31, which I hoped to pay. When I went to the restroom and got ready to walk out, I got a call from Garrett saying it was going to actually be $508. So now I'm prepared in my mind to pay that. So, when I happen to look at the services I signed off on, I was completely surprised it went from being in the $500's to now being $833.11. Confused and definitely disappointed, because it wasn't was I signed off on through my phone. I approached Mike in the service department. I asked why was my bill $833.11 instead of what I agreed too. He said "that's what you signed off on" and I said no I didn't because I took a photo of it. He said "well you did". I said I just want my car so I can leave. He said "well we're still working on it" I went back to the office where I was sitting waiting. Edith called the manager for me, and he managed to make it right in the end, and ended up saying that it was an error on their end with the tech or something like that. I appreciated that he made it right. Mike in service department is the reason I will never go back there, and the fact I received two different prices. Not comfortable doing business with them anymore. Don't feel they were being honest with me at all. So happy I took a screenshot of the previous price. $300 difference is a lot for someone who didn't plan on paying that. Such a shame because Edith was AWESOME, and really helped me get to the bottom of it! I'll never go back, not even for an oil change. read more

Extremely poor sales practices with Used Cars. Poor communication with car updates and prices.

I had a horrible experience with their service department. I had to turn in my vehicle for a repair of the safety system due to rodent damage. Initially, I was told they'd get the extremely expensive repair (over $10k) covered by insurance and fix the vehicle shortly. There was no follow up. I tried contacting them with no success because no one bothers to pick up the phone in their department. I was forced to try a plethora of phone numbers until I could talk to somebody. They lied to me saying the delay on the repair was because they were in a "stalemate" with my insurance. However, when I talked to the insurance myself, the shop had contacted insurance ONE TIME IN TWO MONTHS. I was forced to handle the claim myself because no one at this shop bothered to do so, even after they repeatedly told me they would handle it. I'm still confused why they lied saying they could handle the conversation with insurance when they clearly lacked the competence to pull it off. In the end, they held my car for close to 100 days for a repair that took them one week. I would not recommend this service department to anyone looking for straight-forward, reliable service. read more

I will never purchase anything from Hyundai again and I highly recommend no one else does, either. I purchased a 2017 Hyundai Elantra that was still under warranty and had a defective paint job. Initially, in 2020, Fox did facilitate getting the damaged and chipping paint repaired. The paint on areas that had not been repainted continued to chip and I was not notified that my warranty had been extended until AFTER the extension ended. I called, left emails and voicemails and asked for help many times. Corporate told me to go back to the dealership I had a relationship with. Since no one would answer my communications, I physically went there and was treated extremely rudely by a staff member who kept interrupting me when I was explaining the situation to him. He gave me his manager's card and I did call the manager to ask for further assistance but NEVER received any communication back. I simply asked him to help me get in contact with a dealership that could fix the paint, but he couldn't be bothered. Fixing the faulty, manufacturer error paint job myself costs $2,000. I cannot afford this. The way I have been treated through this entire ordeal is beyond unacceptable. Don't take your business here. read more

Fox Hyundai removed and installed differential axel seals on 9/28/2022. A leak was found by a mechanic on 4/26/2023. Called to bring Tucson in for corrective work in May, 2023. Was told the first appointment was in July 2023. A 100,000 mile check-up costing over $2,000 and this is the care and follow-up we are receiving? At this point, we would not trust Fox to fix a bicycle. You have choices where to spend your money. Go somewhere that cares about your business. read more

Keith and Eric were very helpful in getting my car in recently/promptly to figure out why the A/C still wasn't working properly (They fixed it back in February but this was a separate issue that came up). Keith clearly explained what was done, and any next steps I needed to be aware of. This fix (inspection and freon replacement/dye test) took about an hour. My A/C now works great, just in time for the warmer weather, thank goodness! And as always, my 3 year old son loved waiting for my car in the Nissan lobby next door, and watching all the cars being worked on. When we decided to get a Hyundai Elantra, we went there first because we live in Ann Arbor. While the sales person was nice, the dealer is a hard seller dealer. We only wanted the Hyundai Limited, but they kept trying to create an urgency , trying us to get the more expensive car with the navigation system. They said we could get approved. Then they wanted a cosigner. Then they wanted a different cosigner. We said forget it. We went to Liberty Hyundai and got financed through Capital One Auto Finance with no cosigner. Our Elantra limited was $3000 cheaper, out the door at $21,500 than the $24,500 Ann Arbor Hyundai paper work had. We love the car. We actually get 37 MPG on the hi-way . We had trouble from the beginning with getting anyone to call us back. Had to get the Manager's attention to get someone to call me back to buy a car. We ended up buying the car thru Alex which only took us an hour at the dealership and went fairly smoothly. We bought the car June 13th and it is now August 14th and we have still not received the paperwork we need to title the car in Ohio. We have called at least 5 times trying to get the paperwork since our temporary tags are expired. No one has called us back. I'm really happy with the service I got here. I needed new brakes and a few other repairs. They had to keep my car overnight, but had a shuttle that was able to drive me to and from work. The shuttle drivers were incredibly nice. The pricing for the repairs and service time were fair and reasonable. I turned in my old Kia Soul which had some exterior damages. I leased a new Kia Sorento from this dealership because they promised to repair the damaged on the old kua soul, so I wouldn't be charged for that. I got a bill for the damages a few months later. I went back to complain. The finance guy told me repairs were done; that he had pictures of the repaired vehicle and that he would talk to them. I called Kia motors finance today to find out I was being charged for the exterior damages that were never repaired. I guess a person's word is worthless at Kia. I just paid $790 in damages. We bought a Hyundai Santa Fe Limited at this dealership. Initially we were skeptical about the quality of the car (given Hyundai's reputation from 10 years ago), but were absolutely surprised after taking a first look: great features and design, excellent safety ratings, spacious, very nice driving experience, very reasonable pricing. Ryan and Jake sold us the car, informed us about a special deal right away and gave us plenty of details on pros and cons (I did my due diligence before and knew a lot about the car, different trims, prices online and from a dealership, buying vs. leasing etc.) so I was (almost a bit surprised actually) to realize after just a few minutes that everything the two guys said was true (comparing my past experience when looking for cars). Although I was not planning to do so, we bought the car a few hours later. I was interested in another car as well, but everything seemed to fit at Hyundai of Ann Arbor, so we just closed the deal. Our experience was absolutely great, we got an excellent deal and are very happy - mainly because of the car, but also because of the true and honest people at the dealership. If I could give this place 0 stars out of 5, I would. I did my test-driving in Livonia, and the people there were very nice. I thought it would be more convenient to come to the one closer to home to actually purchase my car. After some haggling, we came to a deal; the Ann Arbor Hyundai people were going to bring my car from Ohio and put on a few after-market parts. That was three weeks ago. Since then, I've been told I should just be happy that I made such a great deal. I've been told my car would be ready for me (with the after-market parts) so many times that I've lost track. And I've been told that I'm acting childish because I got upset about all the lies I've been told. I got so fed up with my salesperson, I went to the manager. But he was even worse. He told me to just take my money back and that I wouldn't get the car I wanted. He told me that he would make a list of places that could take care of the after-market parts (that they had already promised me would be done), but rescinded that offer quite rudely when I reminded him that they had promised me a rental car while my parts were being added; he told me to go home and google it because I can google it just like he can. The story just keeps changing. And I still don't have my car the way we agreed it would be when it was brought up to Michigan. It's worth the extra drive to go to Livonia. read more

Great car, all right price, no complaints about the dealer *except* after paying them $1600 for a third-party extended warranty, I started to get calls from a variety of agencies trying to sell me another warranty on my car. Car dealerships always "get" you one way or another and this place is no exception. Took my '09 Santa Fe in for the recalls in the spring. Had one instance of the car going into limp mode and check engine light came on. Took it my local guy, he said it was the throttle position sensor after reading the codes. AA Hyundai did a check while it was there for the recalls and confirmed. Charged me $120. Quoted the replacement of the sensor at $290 and told me they'd take off the cost of the inspection if I came back and got it fixed. And naturally, they never have the parts in stock so I'd have to make the 85 mile trip twice, regardless of whether they give me a rental or not. Flash forward 6 months and the car is acting up more often. Take it in to get oil changed at my local shop, of which I've been patronizing for 20 years and I would trust with my first born! They read the codes and once again confirmed it was the TCS. They called down to the Hyundai dealership in Toledo and the service guy there told them, it was a $35 part, would take 45 minutes, but there was a flash for the chip that could only be done at the dealership. GOTCHA! Regardless, they said I should get out of there for under $100. Also found out there was a service bulletin posted in 2010 for this problem, no one at AA Hyundai mentioned that to me. So, I call up Keith at AA Hyundai, tell him what was going on but him thinking I'm just a dumb broad, didn't believe me and said they would have to diagnose it all themselves. And... thinking I'll get my credit for the inspection and get out there pretty unscathed. But Noooo...they stick to the $290 estimate, but do take the inspection fee off. Still pay $160. Bill was written up as $33 for parts, $115 labor. Where in the hell did the $290 come from in the original estimate? Crooked ass place and I will NEVER return. I'll drive to Toledo if I ever have to deal with another Hyundai dealership. Or I'll trade the damn thing in on something that I can get serviced locally. My bad. And, to add insult to injury...they didn't even wash or clean my car out after they had it two days! Huh! read more

visited the shop more than a month ago to check up on my break system and the after waiting for an hour, the service desk lady came to me and told me that my break doesn't need to be changed but there were other things that were due, such as transmission oil change, tire rotation, etc. I didn't have a budget to get all those service. So I decided to only pick couple that were urgent and also asked for rotate my tires because my front tires are wearing faster than rear ones. When I was paying over $100 of unexpected services the lady told me the engineer had switched front tires with rear ones. I didn't have time to check my car when I was getting out of the service department and hurried back to my work. But when I arrived at the parking lot and looked at my tire, I realized that the engineer didn't even touched my tires. So I called the service desk and asked her what kind of tire rotation did engineer exactly do. She was very surprised that I would call her to ask this, but she returned with an answer something like "Oh the engineer apparently did 'side-to-side' rotation".. I still didn't understood why would anybody do that kind of rotation when front and rear tires are waring in different rate, but didn't have a time to waste any more time that day. I went to other car mechanics in the town today and told him about the recent tire rotation I recently got from Ann Arbor Hyundai dealership and he told me that unless the front and rear tires are equipped with different size non-directional tires, no one does side-to-side tire rotation... So here is my feedback about this shop: I never felt like I received a honest and quality service from this place and after visiting them second time, my opinion still stands. This service department is dishonest, customer-ripping, and has poor quality workmanship. I would never go back for any other service for this dealer. I used to live in Columbus, OH and went to a Hyundai service center there for all of my car maintenance. They always had a great workmanship as well as honesty, and I always had an opportunity to talked to the car engineer directly, so I trusted their work. This maybe another Hyundai service center, but the quality of their service nor the mentality of servicemanship don't even measure up to other shop I used to go to. Shame on you. read more

Then they were very unfriendly at check out and the receptionist didn't take my card information down right so they called me angry, and she never admitted her mistake and re-did it.
