I found a used vehicle online and booked a test drive the same day. The salesman was very quick to respond and very personable. We were running late, and he was still super friendly and even suggested the best route to take to test out all the capabilities of the car before returning. We told him what we wanted the total to be out the door, and he was able to make it happen, even staying after close to help so we didn't need to come back another day. The only reason this isn't a 5-star review is I received an email a few days after buying the car to check in and replied that the cruise control was malfunctioning and never got a response. read more

My daughter purchased a new 2021 Hyundai Tucson from Fox. She no longer lives in GR buy came home for Easter and she has a rubbing noise coming from a front wheel (brakes or bearings probably). Just know that if you purchase a vehicle from Fox Motors (owned by the DeVos family), you won't be able to rely on them for service. I've had my vehicle in twice for repairs. The first time they were unable to make the repair and I had to take the vehicle to a Chevy dealer for repairs. I'm NOT bringing any of my vehicles here ever again. We've had nothing but trouble with them. First, we had repair work done. They put my car under someone else's name and address and the mix up caused a small nightmare for months. The handling of the situation was far less than professional. Took car in for recall work. Apparently, they don't put paper mats on your floor mats anymore, and the tech pushed the driver's door open with his greasy boot, leaving a mess on the side of the interior door. Have a little respect for other people's property! Now I have grease in the grooves of my side panel. Unacceptable. Another recall came. I called to schedule an appointment, left message, no one called back. 3 months later, I called to speak to the service manager about it, left him a message, and gee, what a surprise, another failed follow-up. Very poor customer service. If I could give them zero stars, I would. So sad how things have gone so far downhill at this place. read more

Just Wow!!! Bought a car from here last week, took weeks of trying to buy the car from an agent who didn't even pretend to try. New level of bad service. Perfectly aware of the supply chain, that's not our complaint. Complaint was the lackadaisical, incompetent, unprofessional behavior of the sales rep we unfortunately got assigned to. Nothing got done for us when she was out of office. And you never knew if she was out of office or just disinterested in doing her job that day, because there were no electronic out of office replies on any of her contact info you are given - and she was - On. Vacation. Out. Of. Office. All. The. Time. Great for her, not great for clients. Maybe for your out of office, vacationing, part timers sales people, which ever the disinterested bad attitude they are, the dealership should have a back up plan, and actually help and communicate with buyers. Some day not that far in the future, supply chain will change, and you will have to work at selling cars again, but the bad relationships and reviews you are accumulating will not change. ZERO stars. Don't use covid as an excuse now. That's irresponsible. I purchased my car new from this dealership back in 2018. Today is the third time I was lied to by the folks here. Brought my 2018 Sonata for an oil change. I was told my car would be ready in 1hr30minutes. 1hr45mins later the rep came to me and said it's gonna be another 1hr30mins because they hadn't started on it yet. Last year was the same thing except I had an APPOINTMENT for service. They rejected me then too saying to "come back first thing tomorrow and we'll take care of you." Well, I came back the next day and the guy that said that to me didn't remember saying that so they said that they couldn't accommodate me...again. That was an appointment two days in a row! They took two days from my life with no service. Now it's three. It's like they do it intentionally. Weirdest thing I have ever seen in the auto industry. read more

First, the good - I was able to get an appointment scheduled online for an oil change on a Saturday morning. $60 for a full synthetic oil change for my Genesis didn't seem too bad. I was in and out within about 45 minutes, seemed pretty reasonable. Now the bad - I got into my car after the oil change and I immediately smelled oil in the cabin. My steering wheel had some sort of film on it, slightly tacky tot the touch. As if maybe some oil got on the steering wheel and they tried to quickly clean it off. I had a few napkins in the car and wiped the steering wheel down, no harm no foul. Unfortunately I can still smell the oil. As I look down at my center console (I have light grey leather interior), I notice some strange discoloration - it's oil smeared on my console!?! I then notice another splotch on the passenger seat. Thankfully I had more napkins in the car, and with a little spit and elbow grease, was able to get the oil off. I really wish I would have taken some pictures. I don't think it's too much to ask when you bring your car in for service, that it be returned in the same condition or better than when you brought it in. That carelessness just cost you a customer. read more

I bought my 2019 Hyundai Tucson here. I would say my experience was fine overall. They forgot to apply a promotion when I was signing the documents but I caught it and they quickly changed it to reflect the current amount. The sales lady just kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Seemed to just want a good review (she explicitly asked me to write a good review or talk to her before I said anything but 5 star about her) and was kissing up to me, which just came across as fake and not genuine at all. She said she would check with me the next day and never reached out. I waited a week and reached out to her and she said she was "just about to contact me" which I did not believe at all. She clearly forgot. The other workers there were nice and I am pleased with my car. Just will be choosing a different sales person next time. read more

Easily the worst dealer experience (or lack of) of my life. Went there with a buddy to test drive a car he was interested in purchasing and were ignored for 50 minutes. I didn't even get a greeting - no one at the dealership said a word to us. They were busy when we arrived but we patiently waited until several customers were done with the sales consultants. We were also the only people waiting for help. Several of the sales consultants noticed we were waiting and at no point was there any attempt to help us. We noticed several of them taking coffee and smoke breaks while we were waiting. We wouldn't have even minded the coffee or smoke breaks if they would have acknowledged we would be helped soon but even after the breaks, all the reps continued to look our way and proceed to ignore us. Needless to say we will never be coming back here again. We drove down to a Mazda dealer down the street and then walked out with a new CX-5. read more

Purchased a certified preowned 2015 Hyundai Sonata from Fox Hyundaiin Kentwood, MI. Just like all the others, it uses a ridiculous amount of oil (about 2 quarts of oil every 500 miles). I contacted Hyundai Motors America to see if they would replace my motor. They said take it into the Hyundai dealer, have them check it out and see if there is a valid warranty to cover it. I believe they already knew the answer to this - obviously there is no longer a warranty on it. After the back and forth run around via emails, I contacted Fox Hyundai in Kentwood, MI and spoke to the service manager. He said he would go to bat for me. Got a call back from a lady at Fox Hyundai within the same day and stated that Hyundai rejected their PA (pre-autherization) to do an oil consumption test. I NEVER DID HEAR BACK FROM THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT WAS GOING TO GO TO BAT FOR ME. HE JUST HAD SOME LADY CALL ME BACK AND SHARE THE BAD NEWS. So, I sent an email to Fox Hyundai where I purchased the car. I thought perhaps the dealer would do what was right since they sold me a certified preowned Hyundai, the same models that have been previously documented with defective motors. No service or help here after the sale. I'm stuck with the certified preowned Lemon. Check the gas and fill up the oil. I would never, ever buy another Hyundai (or Kia). And certainly will never, ever do business with Fox regardless of all the different auto brands Fox sells. read more

BUYER BEWARE! Please read my experience before purchasing from this dealership. On 09/02/2017 I visited Vic Kurdziel of Fox Hyundai Kia to shop for a new car. Within a few hours I found a car I wanted to purchase. I'm only 19 so credit history was an issue. However; after about a week, on 9/11/2017 I received an approval to purchase a 2016 Hyundai Sonata certified per-owned with roughly 52,000 miles for $13,700. I tried to negotiate this price down however; Vic Kurdziel assured me the used car prices are already set "as low as they can go" so they could not reduce the asking price. I accepted this answer and decided to move forward with the car. I had a friend review my purchase agreement before I signed which he noticed there was a $795 GAP charge added to the deal docket. I contact Vic and requested this be removed as I already had GAP coverage included in my auto policy which he did. On 9/13/2017 I signed the loan documents which took 30-45 minutes to complete. During the signing, the Finance Manager, Brittany Gibbons presented several extended warranties and service add-ons which made little to no sense to me however; I was about to own all of them and didn't even know it. When I drove my car home on 09/14/2017, my friend took a look at my "Statement of Vehicle Sale" which showed a "Total Delivered Price" of $17,872. Now remember, this vehicle was listed for $13,700 --- He immediately asked me if I realized I had purchased $3,079 in add-ons which I of course replied I did not! My friends then showed me the deal breakdown which showed the following add-ons. $1,789 Vehicle Service Contract $795 GAP Insurance $495 Prepaid Maintenance Plan --------- $3,079 TOTAL UPCHARGES!!! Now remember, this was supposed to be a "certified preown" but yet I was sold over $3000 in warranty and service add-ons -- WHAT??!! I've never been so taken advantage of in my entire life. I'm a 19 year old female that is super trusting and lacks experience with these kind of things. Vic Kurdziel (used car sales) and Brittany Gibbons (finance manager) took total advantage of that. They absolutely worked me for there own gain. After learning about the misrepresentation and the fact that just 24 hours earlier these two crooks essentially stole $3000 from me without me even knowing it --- I decided to return the car to the dealership as I want nothing to do with this company. After attempting to return the car, I was told I couldn't do that... that the car was mine now. Even though I had driven it home just a couple hours ago and even though they had inflated the purchase price of my vehicle my misrepresenting the $3000+ in add-ons. Anyway, that is my story. I actually purchased my brand new Hyundai Sante Fe from Fox July of 2013 but after hearing a friend's horror story with her dealership and not checking yelp, I believe Fox deserves a review. I came in knowing exactly what I wanted...sante fe, new, sport with the sports and premium (I'm sure I got the names of these packages wrong) so I would have the color acreen, leather seats and bike rack installation parts. When I first started shopping, I got on truecar, blue book, ebay, autotrader...you name it, I researched it and printed off any and all good deals for my area. I also started getting my car (an elantre) ready for trade in. I went to 4 dealerships and it came between Holland and Grand Rapids. Holland seemed a little pushy and slightly slimy, so I ended buying from GR. I had a list of what colors I would accept and also came in with approved loan papers in hand. Their office is really nice...floor models were great to look at. The people were normal Midwestern friendly. I brought my stepdad with me for the test drive and show me things that looked good or bad overall he saw in the vehicle. He liked everything and I was sold on the model. They did not have what I wanted in stock so I requested a deep grey color to be shipped. They found only one coming up in the system but it would take a week to get it and I had to travel out of state within days so I didn't have time. Then they found a dark blue one in Wisconsin and would take 2 days to arrive. I said yes like I was getting married and now comes the negotiations. I had 20 pages of data on how much I wanted to spend as well as how much my then current car was worth at trade in. No joke, they were open and upfront with everything. I was offered many packages but I declined without any more pushing. My trade in kept getting low balled a little bit but they offered some free stuff for the car to compensate and I agreed. I think my trade in and my negotiating, I only ended up financing about 3/4 of the sticker price. Since I had my own loan already available to me, I at first declined the offers to check with their bank but they said they would definitely be able to find a better deal, so I let them. Some small bank offered to finance for 2% lower...awesome! I'm sure they got a kickback but that's fine with me. I cannot remember the name of the salesman who helped me but he was GREAT! The manager on the other hand was uncomfortable and left a slightly bitter taste in my mouth. He wasn't rude or condescending to me, he just seemed like he acted like the big man on campus so I was super happy to meet the district manager when I finalized the sale. I'm EXTREMELY happy in my car...2 years old and still looks, feels and drives as well as day one. I've been diligent in oil changes and maintenance. No repairs have been made. I said it before with my elantre...I will never buy another car brand again. Before my hyundais, I had a Chevy and Pontiac. They both sucked. I would whole heartedly recommend this dealership and hope I can make my next hyundai purchase from them again. read more

Best Service ever. Drove in from Boston needing oil change, tire rotation, new wipers and a wash. They offer a "quick lube service" for customers like me. I just got into the appropriate service lane (they had three lanes). Although the wash does not include drying, you are told ahead of time that you get it back wet, but it only costs a dollar. After a long road trip of bug collecting, the car came back very clean. The car looked great after I toweled it off using my gym towel. They had three waiting areas: office work area, snack area with complementary coffee, cookies and pop corn, and a TV area. Service personnel were very informative and caring. read more

Technician lied to my face about rotating my tires, as I was having problems with a specific tire before the tire rotation, and had problems with same tire after. Spoke to a manager, she offered no apology, just excuses, took no accountability for error, and told me she "wouldn't have a problem" with rotating my tires for free if I brought it in. It definitely sounded like they were going out of their way to do me a favor, when that is what I paid for in the first place. If they lied to me, I'm sure they lie to other people also. read more

Customer service in the service department is the worst. If you call you will have to leave a message. Because their is little to no chance that anyone will answer. And if you are lucky they may return your call within 24 hours. The service department and sales are awesome. It just the ones within the service department that handle the customer's that need replaced. I tried to call today and like always I had to leave a message. So I decided to call three more Michigan Hyundai dealers out of frustration and all three answer and they all where willing to assist me. NOT FOX!! yet AGAIN. The sales team needs some training. I felt like I was talked down to about the process, and he had assumed I had no down payment beyond my trade in. He did seem to become nicer when I mentioned I had a cosigner. I feel as if because I am a younger female he thought that I was not going to be worth his time. I had asked if the car was reliable, and he said it is not about the car, it is about me, the driver, and how I care for the car. Which is a frustrating response, as if I do not know how to care for a car. I ended up leaving feeling annoyed at how I was treated. They also held on to my car keys while he was in and out of the finance manager's office so I was not able to leave. They did call me the next day, and I expressed that I did not like how I was treated, and the rep did not ask how I was treated, or what happened, or even apologize that I felt like I was mistreated. At the end of the day, the car was a good deal, and they offered me a fair trade amount after having them higher it. There is no question if I had been treated better, that I would have bought the car. But because of the poor service, I am not interested in going back or buying no matter the deal. If you are younger, or female, I would recommend not going to this dealership, or at least going alone. read more

I read another review that said they never felt so dirty after leaving this dealership. I agree. I liked the Hyundai car I purchased but would NEVER purchase another one again! My vehicle started burning oil. They agreed to perform a consumption test. I was asked to bring the vehicle in three times in 500 mile increments. I inquired about that because other dealerships I called said it was every 1,000 miles. After the second test they forgot to put the oil cap back on. After I drove away I smelled something burning, pulled over, lifted the hood and oil had spewed out all over the engine. I drove back and the guy kept adding a random amount of oil without measuring anything. When I questioned it I was told they do this all the time but when pressed never answered my question. This place doesn't like smart women or a woman who questions anything. It's a very misogynistic place. I was right the consumption test is done every 1,000 miles. Since they screwed up the first consumption test they agreed to do it again. During the second one when I asked to see the dipstick they told me they're changing their policy and they're taking the car back to the shop, obviously so I couldn't see the amount of oil burned. This the most unpleasant experience I have ever had with any dealership. The way I am being treated as a woman because I have a brain and ask questions is completely unacceptable. It's a "good ol' boy network" operating there. I would never buy another Hyundai ever again. It's hard to believe this sort of treatment is endorsed from the Jarrod the manager of the dealership all the way down to Claude the shop manager. Unreturned emails and phone calls, unpleasant in person encounter and the worst customer service once you give them money and buy one of their cars. Do Not allow the 100,000 mile/10 year warranty to sway you it's worth NOTHING. I am extremely disappointed, so I cannot recommend buying a Hyundai. I am very happy with my 2012 Hyundai Elantra, but I have NOT been happy with their service department. They get a 2 star rating for service only due to a few people trying to be nice about their inefficiencies in the service department. When my car was new, I gave them a chance. After a year, decided they were not for me. Recently my car had a recall, which I informed them multiple times (during the pandemic) did not apply to my vehicle. They badgered me for 18 months to come in and do this recall service. To get them to stop badgering, I made an appointment. I sat there for 1 hour and 15 minutes (I was told 45 minutes) and then they did not complete the work they said they HAD to do! They discovered I no longer had the part that needed to be repaired. I told them that MULTIPLE times over the course of 18 months. Hyundai Service, one would think you could improve over ten years, yet you don't. Unfortunately, I likely will not buy my next car there just because of the occasion requirement to use their service department. read more
