We bought our first home and hired Fox Inspection Group to complete our inspection. They charged $783.00 for the inspection, which makes them one of the most expensive inspection companies. Since it was our first home, we thought we'd receive peace of mind going with the higher price (hopefully higher quality) company. They did the inspection and presented as if they had done a thorough job and we were satisfied until we moved in. On our first day in the new home, we turned on the A/C and the bathroom ceiling began to leak. The issue was caused by a broken PVC pipe. This could be seen by a visual inspection in the attic, but it was missed by Fox Inspection. We thought they would honor their inspection, but instead turned the blame on us, making a point that it was not possible for their inspector to miss this broken pipe. We went round and round with a manager at Fox who offered nothing to remedy the mistake in their inspection. In the end, the call ended with no resolution from Fox. We were disappointed by the way we were treated and would not recommend this company to any other new home buyers. read more

Justin got there on time, was extremely thorough (spent over 3 hours in a 1900 SF house), brought snacks and water for me, gave me a summary of the main issues before he left, had the report to me in 24 hours, was extremely consciencous of the owners two cats being kept safe......great customer service and what appears to be a very thorough inspection too!! We have used Fox for 3 inspections thus far: inspection prior to close, one year builder warranty inspection, and frame inspection recently since we are building again. Bill Hurley has been our inspector and he does a great job. Very patient, kind, and thorough. His knowledge has been invaluable, especially with our latest frame inspection as he was able to provide feedback on some of the framing and plumbing work that was done that really put me at ease. We have never built with a production builder and from whatever research I was able to accomplish, it seemed that our builder had a good reputation and Bill confirmed that for me. I appreciate Fox's ability to get appointments scheduled on somewhat short notice and the professionalism and timeliness of their team. They're pricier, but worth it in my opinion. read more

We could not be present because we are living in another state but at the end of the inspection done with both real estate agents, my agent called me and the inspector gave me a summary of the main findings. Ruben from Fox Inspection Group performed our home inspection, and we were so pleased with the job he did. He arrived on time, was very thorough, and took the time to explain the issues that he found. He was very professional and obviously very knowledgeable, while recommending things that we may need to keep an eye on. Since home inspectors aren't supposed to suggest any course of action for the issues, rather just report the facts, he was very partial, but informative about the implications of some of the issues. He was able to answer all of our questions, and we believe he did a very professional job. The girls that answer the phones are also very helpful and friendly. We had previously scheduled an inspection on a house that we didn't end up getting the contract on, and they were helpful in canceling and again when we called to reschedule. I called Fox Inspection Group and got scheduled almost immediately. Jared Owen was the inspector assigned to the job and he was great. Jared was very thorough both inside and outside of the house and he also was very good at explaining and walking me through the items that he found at the conclusion of his inspection. Jared highlighted the items that were a bit more concerning or should be prioritized during the walkthrough but certainly didn't leave anything out. Jared worked to provide us the final report ASAP which we received later that evening (inspection was scheduled for 2 PM so we received it the same day); Fox does promise inspection reports to be provided by at least 9 AM the day following the inspection. I also want to highlight Jared's insight and focus on the exterior of the home which is stucco. Through the visual stucco inspection, he was able to highlight some critical items that were important for us to note and I was impressed by his knowledge in this area since this was just the general inspection. Overall, I could not be happier with the services that Jared and Fox Inspection Group provided and I will certainly use them in the future. On sale of a house, their inspector could not distinguish between true differential settlement issues and a slab that had been originally poured unlevel. Yes, the slab was unlevel. It had been that way for over 40 years since the day it was poured. Would think that old tile floors not having a single crack or separated grout lines would show that the slab was stable......well not to these unqualified inspectors. Sale was lost due to buyer concerns over nothing. Yes, they produce long computer generated reports that look very professional. Sixty pages plus generated in just a few hours post the inspection. Its obviously just a report with text pre-written that gets put in based on what boxes are clicked. Looks good, but the underlying technical expertise is not there. DO NOT BE FOOLED. read more

Requested stucco inspection. Upon arrival, inspector told me that only the front of my house was stucco (the rest was cement board) and he would only be inspecting the one (stucco) side. I reached out to Fox and requested a lower fee since the work was cut by a 1/3. Fox only offered a $60 discount, but at least they offered something. During inspection, I was told by the inspector he could not check (drill) 3rd floor area under a large window because that window did not open. So basically, I was left not knowing if this large area is, or isn't, affected. In addition, later received inspection report to find out that a large stucco area from a 3rd floor area running down to 2nd floor (on both sides) was not inspected. I spoke to owner of company and he said they do not have ladders that reach 3rd story; therefore unless there was/is window access they can not test those areas. I stated that this is something I should have been made aware of as I would have hired a stucco inspection company that could as I now had an incomplete inspection. Disappointed in overall inspection as they didn't inspect two large sections of the house leaving me not knowing if these areas had moisture/water penetration. That being said, the inspection report was very thorough. In addition, inspector took time to talk to me about current issues as well as areas that could have issues down the road due to lack of proper drainage. Overall, I would go with a company that can test/inspect all areas (including 3rd story). read more

Hired this company to do an inspection on our new home. They missed multiple things in their inspection that cost us a significant amount of time and money to have repaired. For example: (1) the stovetop wasn't actually wired in, it was just set in the counter - we had to pay an electrician to come install it, (2) the waste water from the second floor bathrooms was not connected to the drain pipe so it just flushed through the wall of the house, (3) the prior owner installed an over-range microwave in the kitchen cabinets with no ventilation so when we used it it overheated and exploded, causing scorch marks throughout the cabinet, (4) the half bathroom sink was not installed properly and just dumped out under the pier and beam house, and (5) they did not advise us that the heater in the garage apartment did not work. After we complained they offered us a refund, but when I pressed them on getting the refund they stopped responding to all of my e-mails. I have e-mailed them multiple times over the past year and have received no response. read more

This company found it appropriate, after a buyer scheduled inspection, to leave behind a flyer saying "get the bugs out before you move in" accompanied with business cards in my home. Because the buyer backed out, claiming the company found an "active infestation" 8 days after the home had been treated for termites (by a reputable local company), other potential buyers visited our home and saw this flyer. I'm exploring all legal options against this company for this completely unauthorized use of the interior of my home for their advertising purposes. I'm now sick to my stomach that these creeps were allowed in my home by the buyer. read more

This review is from the homeowners side. Fox came to inspect my 60 year old home. They tore the house apart, called out things that were installed according to code, panicked the buyer by their 67 page report and almost caused the sale to fall through. They are in collusion with the buyers realtor with the buyer whispering, "Fox said they would give us a discount on that service, right?". Because they have all of these offshoot companies providing service under the Fox Inspection Group umbrella, they make the house appear worse than it is in order to drum up business for their sub companies. The largest "dings" against my home were all things they have companies to cover. My kids arrived back in our home first after the inspection, the entire first floor reeked of natural gas. I had them open the doors and leave. When we returned we opened everything to let the air flow and called our realtor. It took an hour to air out. The inspector didn't understand how to light our fireplace and had let the natural gas just run. Professional? Their "professional" pool inspector turned off all of our equipment which we had left running for him. The Polaris motor timer kicked in to turn on the Polaris and the pool filter wasn't running which can cause damage to the Polaris motor. Leave equipment as you found it, pool inspector! If your buyer says that they are using Fox Inspections, tell them Fox is not welcome in your home and to find another inspection group. If I could give them a zero or a minus rating, I would. read more

Fox Inspections are an excellent group of people to work with! We were completely satisfied with the inspection report which was very detailed. They did an excellent job of figuring out minute details that could have easily been looked over. They were completely spot on with their start time. Also, they called us 30 minutes prior to completion of the inspection. When we arrived, they were done in 20 minutes and took us through all the photos of the inspection with detailed explanation of each one of them. They were very courteous and patient in their explanations. Once everything was done, they offered snacks and water. Also, offered a discount on the next inspection if we get it done within 30 days. I got an email from the builder Friday morning that I could schedule the frame/pre drywall inspection anytime between Friday and Monday. Cue the panic. I called four different inspection places and Fox managed to squeeze me in on Friday! The receptionist was wonderful to work with. Forms were easily signed online and payment was also easily done. I got my report the same night. I was out of town so I was unable to attend but my fiancé arrived at the end of the inspection to discuss any findings. The report was easy to read, and a huge plus was the inspector assigned to us had a drone! He was able to take some photos of the roof. We are 1st time home buyers and didn't know anything about inspections or the process. I called 5 different inspections places to get quotes but Fox Inspections were the only ones to ask me if I had ever been through the process and then proceeded to tell me what I should be expecting. Based on yelp reviews and the recommendation from my realtor, I chose Fox Inspections for the inspection of my new home. Riccardo was my inspector. Very friendly, showed up on time, followed COVID rules. The inspection was detailed and thorough and Riccardo gave me a full walk through of the report and the pictures. Inspection report came to me the next day - super fast. I was impressed with the drone detail of the roof. It was the first time I didn't have to spend additional money to bring out a roofer, so awesome detail. They also do thermal imaging....very nice. I also had an issue on the builder side and had to reschedule the inspection. Fox was over the top helpful in getting me rescheduled to stay on track with the closing. Overall, a great experience, good value and good company to work with during the house buying process. read more

Although expensive compare to other home inspections, it's worth every penny. Reports are easy to understand and very detailed to the point where it's like an education on what's wrong. They tell you what your next step ought to be in plain English. Sample reports from other companies I've seen say stuff like "remedy as needed", but doesn't tell you if they recommend that it be fixed or if it's a danger and/or why it's dangerous. Fox does. The inspector was very nice, polite, friendly, and very thorough. read more

Real estate agents beware of using Fox inspections if you want to sell the homes you have listed. If I could have given them a minus stars rating I would have. Fox performed an inspection on a home I had for sale. By the time they were through, the buyer backed out of the contract. ThIs is a quote from the report that was done on our home "it is the inspectors opinion that all areas of concern should be further investigated by a licensed contractor". As the seller, we had professional trades people come in and look at these problems that Fox pointed out, most turned out to be non issues. In my opinion, let the professional people do these jobs not Fox. They will not return calls and are highly unprofessional in their conduct as well as their inspections.
