I have hired them several times for my own home purchases and they don't miss a things all finding are explained is such detail the reason and possible future problems they will cause. Are more informed about building code than any other company I have come across and the continued changes to them even knowing the years sometimes months of the changes. They are so experienced and will take the time needed to answer all your questions, explain what next steps to take and the requirements of the state regarding the correction of any failed items, what items need to be repaired or corrected that are crucial to the home or you and the average cost. Tl;Dr version: If you want to make sure that the home you're BUYING doesn't have any issues, do NOT use Fox. Out initial review was incredibly positive. As time has worn on, it turns out that our inspection was subpar. #1 - There is a leaking gas supply hose underneath our range. There has been a "smell" of gas since we took possession of the house & it took us some time to figure out the source. This should've been figured out during the inspection. #2 - There is a "dead" outlet located in the middle of the living room wall, ostensibly to plug in a TV. This never worked from the time we moved in. As it turns out, the outlet is simply a wall-mounted extension cord that needs to be plugged into another outlet lower on the wall. #3 - Pool algae / mold was overlooked on the back retaining wall of the pool. read more

I'm pleased to say they maintain an extremely high level of professionalism and excellent quality of work. I'd highly recommend Fox and Jovon if you are after a prompt, very detailed, well-photographed, up-to-date home inspection report. On the latter item, Jovon came equipped with an HD drone to check the entire roof area and managed to spot an incorrectly secured vent boot seal that could have allowed water ingress - something you could not see from ground level. Terribly bad service with the worst inspection ever. We were offered an inspection completed within 3 months of our purchase. They missed termites that did thousands of dollars in damage, over 7,000 dollars in plumbing issues and misidentified our home with another home including pictures of a water heater from another home stating we had a RHEEM 2017 when in fact we have a Whirlpool from 2013. They will not do anything to make this right by paying us back for the repairs. They seemed to take great pleasure in stating they would do nothing since we were not a client. We are in the process of filing a formal complaint requested by TREK. read more

If I could give a negative star I would. Worst inspection report ever, the lack of attention to issues existing in the house I purchased cost me close to 50k. Issues with pool, double pane window, mold existing on attic, rotted wood in decking and ridge vents, just to mention the most expensive repairs were totally missed in the report. The company acknowledge they missed some of those and gave some money back which was Minimum, for the rest just give the excuse that their inspection is visual. I would not recommend to use this company unless you want to end up with costly repairs that you will have to address after the purchase of your home read more

We had Fox out to inspect a home we were under contract for. They were recommended by our realtor along with a couple of others, but they were less expensive than the most recommended one. I'm very happy I went with them and saved the money. They were very easy to work with and get scheduled quick, they sent out two inspectors to cover the large house, David and Chris were kind and thorough, and they even brought waters and snacks if anyone needed anything. Very heads up for a long event at a home that isn't yours yet. I was even give the inspectors phone numbers in case I had questions after, which I did and both got back to me very quickly. Digging into the nitty gritty of what could be improved, I think during the final tour there was more that I wish we would have gone over in person and while I appreciate there wasn't anything huge wrong, there was a lot of little stuff in a big house that adds up to quite a bit. We did definitely talk about a fair amount, but I would have liked even more. I think the sellers realtor who we let come with us got a rosier impression that the report gave. Also there was a small communication error on a couple of fireplaces that were not able to be turned on. I would have hoped they would have still looked in them for signs of disrepair or problems from before, but they didn't and the time for that was gone by time I realized. Overall, it was a very good experience and I would recommend and use Fox Inspections again. read more

Overall really great service and people. Attention to detail in reporting and took their time inspecting the property. Expensive bug you get what you pay for. Really glad we used them. Only areas of criticism might not even be fixable, we had breakers that were tripped prior to the inspection and policy states the technician cannot reset any breakers that are pre tripped. So those circuits didn't get fully looked at. Our home builder also failed to get the utility company to take the lock off the gas line. A heads up to reschedule the inspection as soon as that was seen would have been nice read more

They were honest, thorough, and explained everything in fantastic detail. I would absolutely use them for any type of home purchase from now on. The appt was for 8:30 but they were there long before starting on the outside so they wouldn't take so long. It took around 4-5 hours for a 2000sqft home but it went by quickly as it was a totally pleasant experience. One note, you might want to change the voice on the phone that you call into.
