The ice cream ranks among the best I've ever had, leading me to give it a 5 out of 5 for its variety, portion size, price, and quality. The staff is sizable, efficient, and incredibly friendly, earning an easy 5-star rating for their service. Upon finishing, we noticed the line had wound its way throughout the interior. Ordinarily, that might deter me, but I'm willing to bet that their pace was quicker than my experience of being second in line at a different local Lititz establishment--where I ended up leaving. Everybody in town talks about this place! When I walked in, the line was huuuge and wrapped around the inside. It went by pretty fast so service was great! I had the honey lavender because I'm a sucker for floral flavored ice cream. The texture of this ice cream, is confusingly incredible... it was so lightly & airy? And almost felt like the ice cream were whipped a little bit. so satisfying. I was disappointed in the lavender flavor itself that the lavender was not very potent. If you like just hint of lavender plus a sweet honey, creamy finish. I recommend! A friend of mine had their peanut butter ice cream, and said it was the best he's ever had! My wife and I were up in Lancaster celebrating our 20th anniversary and stopped in here for something sweet. This place did not disappoint! My wife got two scoops of Peanut Butter Cup and I got one scoop of Brookie Dough and one scoop of Birthday Cake. This ice cream was so creamy and delicious!!! I was also impressed by the scoop size. I'm happy to say that each scoop was a really good size! You know how sometimes you go to an ice cream shop and get a scoop and it looks like it should be for a toddler (am I the only one? ) - well, this place IS NOT like that. We also each got our ice cream in a waffle bowl. So so good! Gracie's on Main is my go-to when I have to meet someone out New Holland way-- but my friend said she'd been meaning to try the Fox Meadows Creamery for lunch. They only do lunch, by the way; they serve lunch and ice cream. That's it. This, I think, is a virtue. Restaurants with spiral bound menus are great for variety-- but typically aren't all that great with the food; those kinda places tend to do a lot of stuff kinda well. But, in my experience a great place does one or two things really well-- and these places keep 'em coming back. Fox Meadows is like that. First off-- before my friend suggested it-- I wasn't aware it existed-- one of the downsides of living in a place with so many hidden gems one wouldn't be privy to unless one knows to look for them. It's right there on route 23 on the way to New Holland-- looking like something Chip and Joanna created in Texas-- with that farmhouse chic vibe, white siding black trim, tons of parking and outdoor seating on an upstairs balcony-- and even a play area with Adirondack chairs for the supervising grown ups. When you go in, it's impossible to not get hit by the smell of warm carmelized sugar, the scent wafting from the waffle press on which they're shaping and cooling homemade waffle cones-- which made me decide right there and then that I was going light on lunch- so I could go full out on the ice cream. I got the autumn season special: a ham and havarti half panini with carmelized, warm cinnamon apples, served on bread slathered in apple butter, served with perfectly golden fresh cut fries-- totally worth the upcharge! There's tons of seating-- on two floors- which is good because I hear this place gets packed in the evening-- and they bring the food to you! Sorry this review is so long winded-- but this place is worthy of my wordiness. I promise. We get back in line for the ice cream-- and I wanted to try everything-- and because this place obviously knows its consumer-- it anticipated my greed and had a sampler offering-- four mini scoops of creamy dreamy nirvana. I got the salted Carmel pretzel, pumpkin crème brûlée, Nutella, and s'mores-- and then 'cause I'm greedy and couldn't resist the allure of that smell that had been calling my name since I walked in the place, I got one of their home made cones. Can I just tell you? How-- HOWWWWW did I not know about this place? That ice cream was smooth, not overly sweet, creamy, indulgent and infused with real flavor. That pumpkin tasted like pumpkin, pungent with subtle hints of cinnamon and nutmeg -- the Nutella has fudgy ribbons of Nutella running through it. The Carmel pretzel had chocolate covered pretzels that had somehow defied the odds and miraculously held on to their crunch, and the s'mores had whole mini, soft marshmallows swimming in that chocolate and vanilla melange of happy heaven. It was so damn good. I'm reliving my experience even as I write this. With my eyes closed. You have to go. I didn't take pictures. I cannot say enough good things about Fox Meadows. I haven't had a single scoop of ice cream that I haven't LOVED. I usually get the sampler, which is 4 mini scoops of ice cream. Honestly, their scoops aren't "mini". Over the summer I've had the Wilbur chocolate, the cookie jar, the mint cookie dough and the raspberry ice cream. Just tonight I had the pumpkin cheesecake, the pumpkin spice and everything nice, Madagascar vanilla, and the raspberry again. I was NOT disappointed!! I met my sister here to grab lunch as I've never been here before. There's a huge parking lot on either side of the entrance. The place itself is big with inside and outside seating. There's also a small "shop" inside to pick up different items. I do think it would be helpful to have a better setup for placing food and getting ice cream. There's an outside jungle gym for kids to enjoy. They have a lot of options to choose from whether you're getting lunch food or ice cream. Staff is very nice and they do move you through the line. The ice cream line can get long but moves fairly quickly -- and the service was excellent! The employees were efficient and super friendly. My goodness, this place ruined all other ice cream places for me. I thought I was in the middle of no where while visiting Stevens PA but.. There was this hidden gem of a place. Let me tell you... The ice cream is one of the best I ever had. Very creamy and yet has enough bite so your not overwhelmed by the softness. The flavors are vast and depending on your mood and feel, you can get the ice cream of your choice. I got the vanilla and chocolate as base along with 2 other flavors and came back to get cookies and cream milkshake the second time to see how different they are from all other ice cream shops that I've experienced. Let's just say, I would go here for ice cream every time if it was available around my place. They also have a food section. I only got to try the side of sweet potato fries and they were absolutely delicious. I would want to try their food next time. If you're for whatever reason in the area, (ie church retreat for me) go and get ice cream. I just really wanted to try a glass of their milk seeing how they make their ice cream and food from the farm that they probably own right behind the shop however... I am changing my review to add this section of some disappointment in lacking to fill the milkshake to the top. The milkshakes are $5.25- while it's the best milkshake I've ever had in my life, I'm upset about paying the price only for it to not have it filled to the top. And this happened two more times since then we went back. See pictures - we hadn't even begun drinking them and the top of the shakes are missing a full inch or 3/4 inch with plenty of room to fill to the top. Otherwise this still gets four stars because Wow. Is the only word I have to say. I'm a HUGE milkshake fanatic and ice cream lover (it's what keeps me from going vegan). (That backfired because the ice cream came 15 min before our food came). We ordered the extra milkshake over the phone since we already placed everything else online- the ladies on the phone were extremely nice and professional. Loved the service! Milkshake: The medium size was perfect for me and my husband to share - but it was so delicious we ordered another one. The first thing you taste is... milk. Then the Oreo slowly sneak into your palette. The smooth, rich and creamy texture slowly comes up the thick straw and you finish that mouthful with a milky after taste.
