The friendly staff offered me a complementary slice of pepperoni pizza since they launched pizza nights on Friday and Saturday. They also were low on fries so they offered me an additional fried side and I went with onion rings. The food arrived very hot and the Philly Steak Sandwich was very big and thick, which had grilled peppers & onions, melted cheese and 2 grilled steak-ums on a thick soft artisan bun. The standard fries were golden and crisp and as were the battered onion rings. I barely finished my lunch. The check was $11.83 with tax and before tip. I got a mix of both to go- Roni pizza, prosciutto+apples+cheddar, and mixed-up olives. The charcuterie stuff was saved for later. The pizza...just look at that thing. It's a thing of beauty...leopard spots, thinly sliced "oversized" pepperoni, a thinner, piquant tomato sauce, melty provolone cheese, and it even has some sesame seeds on top (an ode to Italian bread). Let me put it this way, I live about 5 minutes away from a pizza place that perpetually wins "best pizza" in the Capital District. It's no contest. Be Golden Farm's isn't the only game in town. Their pizza is hands down, the winner, anywhere in the Capital District. It's a drive for most in the region but it's well worth it.
