Had my Goldwing in for speedometer stopping this year. Was in there last year brought up the repair was told if we can't make it do it then we can't fix it and it's under warranty. It's all over the Honda forums the speed sensor gets internment. So rode a year with speedo going out no cruise control no turn signal cancel. Repair manuel I own troubleshooting procedures. 1 is there 12 volt? 2 is there ground? 3 is there a pulse from it ? 4 Replace with known good one. Had it a month I was nice I understand used to run a repair business. For 21 years. Then I was asked to bring it back in the winter.The Honda tech. Is not sure what's wrong either. Ok I go pick it up 3 weeks later. I asked did you put a speed sensor in? No that's not where the problem is. Ahh I see. Get it home order the speed sensor put it in it was like magic it works.Wow! Now l can't get my money from Honda because they do not pay personal people for parts under warranty. Even though the tech at Fox Valley can't read the repair manuel or the tech at Honda. So that was not my only bad experience there but I kept going back. Never again I will drive 50 miles either way to avoid having my chain yanked and lied too. Can't give negative stars or I would. A Local, Family Owned, Cycle Shop with a great Service Center This place was terrific. Out off the beaten path in Aurora but worth the trip especially if you need to have your Bike serviced. I brought in my Honda VTX1800S in to have a proplem diagnosed, they found it right away and had my motorcycle ready before I was even ready to pick it up. My bike currently has $3,500 worth of aesthetic damage not to mention whatever damage is found mechanically. The owner was a flat out jerk. I called for service and told him what was wrong. He said they would charge $130, in addition to any work done, for a diagnostic, even though I told him what was needed. Overall the staff was nice. I had a carb float leaking in my Honda Foreman that I plow with. I brought it in to service that and change the front and rear differential fluid. They got the job done and my ATV was ready for pickup in 2 days. There wasn't much for them to do at the time I'm assuming because the mechanics were sitting around talking about cars on the computers. After I picked the Atv up I brought it home and spent a little bit hooking the winch and the plow system back up etc. Several days later I look underneath my ATV and notice a puddle of fluid under the front end so I spend more time one night to unhook the plow and winch, remove the front brush guard so I can see what's going on with it. I take a wrench loosen and then re tighten the front differential drain plug. On the front skid plate that's welded to the frame I noticed a puddle fluid I'm assuming from the work they did to the front differential. A simple garden hose or some type of rinse would have been nice so I didn't have to spend $600 on work just to spend a few hours to clean up the mess that was made from the fluid changing. Now my garage floor has a fluid stain that won't come up and I spent hours of own time to do something that would have taken them 3 minutes while they had the area open read more

Jim, the owner is very rude and refused to look at my bike. He made up excuses and admitted his lack of knowledge and ability to perform service on a Honda motorcycle. I was stranded one block from this facility and I was refused ANY help. I would not recommend. Sorry Chris T you are wrong. The bike was one block away on a side walk. Jim outright refused to take the few minutes to look at the bike. When I offered to push the bike to the Fox Valley parking lot, he refused to look at it even then! Jim offered absolutely no help whatsoever to help a stranded Honda motorist. It defies logic you are still in business. I contacted a competitor and the bike was picked up within 30min and the bike is back running one day later. Fox Valley lost a job and hopefully more to follow due to very poor customer service. My next step is a letter to Honda Corporate. Jim gives Honda a bad name. read more

I went in yesterday to purchase a metropolitan Honda scooter and Gene was assisting me. From the beginning he was extremely rude and irritable. I'm unsure if something happened prior to my arrival but regardless that's not how a customer should be treated. I had my mind set on walking out with the scooter but I changed my mind because of the horrible customer service. Upon purchasing my (now wifes) ACE 750 used on Craigslist all prior receipts show the bike had orig come from Fox Valley Honda, as well as where the prev owner took the bike for all servicing. That bike is a work horse and is probably the most reliable machine I have ever owned in my life. So when my Sabre 1100 started hesitating I took it here for a carb cleaning. The manager, Jim, was polite, knowledgeable, and straight forward. I thought I needed a carb cleaning, they offered to adjust/blow out my A/F screw first in order to try and save me a few hundred bucks. It did not correct the problem but I appreciate that they made an attempt to save me some money. The bike now runs more smoothly then when I purchased it 2 years ago. Would definitely recommend. Will return when necessary. Their selection of bikes is large, especially for how small the building looks from the outside. Excellent Excellent Excellent!!! I almost never write a review, however, Fox Valley Cycles deserves this review and more... I get rather wordy when I write, so Please at least read the last part of this review that tells all... I went in with my 10 year-old daughter to buy a part for my Yamaha ATV last week as they stock oem Yamaha parts too, and my daughter fell in love with a 2017 Honda CRF2017F Off-Road Motorcycle that was on Fox Valley Cycle's showroom floor. After I purchased my part from the extremely helpful and friendly parts counter staff, I asked an employee if my daughter could sit on the CRF110 which was a nice bike, and then she sat on the CRF125F small-wheel edition right next to the 110, and she knew immediately the CRF125 was the bike for her as she's sat on many other bikes of different makes/models/colors at other dealerships, thus, progressively liking each bike she's sat on in the past year, so now I knew it was time to aggressively move forward and buy my daughter an off-road motorcycle so she can ride next to me instead of behind me riding double on my ATV. So we left FVC to run the whole idea by mom. Mom thought I should give the dealership where I bought my ATV a chance to quote me a price if they carry the same bike, and they did, and the price was very right. They also said they had the CRF125F in-stock. (They Lied, please read on) So I rented a uHaul, pulled my daughter out of school early today so she could be a part of the whole transaction, and paid $10 for a Cashier's Check at my bank made out to dealership X; I'm not going to be too hard on dealership X by giving their name, although I should! Understand I was being told, "Yes, the CRF125F is all ready for you to pick up", on each consecutive contact during the past week by dealership X. So when I told same person at dealership X I was on my way today, they told me they "Accidentally sold it, but we can get another one soon." Without saying how, I found out they didn't have the CRF125F yesterday, the day before, or the day before that!!! After all the prep I did to go to the dealership in Elgin which is over an hour away, I was livid when they said they "Accidentally" sold it! Again, I found out they never even had one this week through a source... I then gave Fox Valley Cycles a call to see if they could price match my quote from where I bought my ATV. SO THIS IS WHY I'M WRITING THIS REVIEW: Over the phone they price matched, and even said in the afternoon when I called they could even have it ready today if I really needed it today, as it still needed to be prepped even though it was in their showroom. That act brightened my day, and more importantly brightened my daughter's day. Just imagine a 10 year-old who with utter enthusiasm and infinite anticipation thinks he or she is about to get a brand new 2017 motorcycle, only to be told, "Sorry darling, they sold your motorcycle, we cannot get it today... :( So we drove to Fox Valley Cycles which is much closer anyway to us than Elgin, and while waiting for the motorcycle to finish being prepped, FVC employees helped fit my daughter with safety gear with great enthusiasm and friendliness... and they are ALWAYS friendly whenever I've gone to just buy parts... I am being very honest with this, and I've never done this before: I knew the price match may have been slightly difficult for FVC to absorb, and getting the bike prepped at the last minute made FVC go way out of their way, so I insisted and gave them more money than the price match, because I have never been treated so well with any vehicle purchase ever! ONE MORE REASON I'M WRITING THIS REVIEW: The motorcycle had a very small minor issue that I didn't notice when the engine was started at the dealership, and could have only been noticed after it was ridden a while. So at 6:45pm right before they closed, I asked if I could speak with the Service Department for a tip how to correct the minor issue... Well it needed a special tool, so: THEY CAME TO MY HOME, PICKED UP THE MOTORCYCLE, FIXED IT, CALLED ME TO SEE IF I WOULD STILL BE AWAKE AT 9:30PM SO THEY COULD BRING IT BACK THE SAME NIGHT!!!!!
