Dear Everybody, Frais Spa is as good as it gets. I can't even put into words how awesome they were/are with me and my daughters, setting appointments and making sure their clients were/are happy. My daughters birthday was coming up and Eva was amazing from start to finish. She worked with me on dates, times, booking and even took my payment over the phone. She was so understanding so awesome!!!! I felt my daughters would be safe and satisfied with their trip after talking with her I knew they were in good hands. Both my daughters were so happy. Now, the Chiropractor he was fantastic and it was his birthday too, thank you! She was so happy with his service, she told me he was so cool and easy to talk too. We drove from over 2 hrs. away, worth every mile and every minute. The staff, the staff was awesome (yes, that's the word of the day) and attentive made both my girls feel right at home, the facilities immaculate! The bathrooms flawless. The treatment fantastic! They thought about everything, even my second daughter who was not celebrating a birthday they gave her extra special attention, treats and they even took pictures for them. Wow!!! Ok so this review is from services received the weekend of January 20th. It is overdue but I wanted to think it through and give the spa a chance to make it right. I will start this review by stating that I have spoken to the owner Karen before writing it as I always want to give the establishment the opportunity to explain or rectify the situation at hand. Neither of those things happened here. My best friend and I booked massages a week in advance via phone for that upcoming Saturday. We were deliberating between the Ritz Carlton spa and Frais. We chose to try Frais spa as it seemed like a smaller owned and well reviewed spa. We were both looking so forward to it as we are both busy mom's and each have two toddler boys. I will also say we are not new to spas. We go to the spa at least once a month, usually twice. We tend to frequent Burke Williams. The day of our service we arrive 35 min early as we were told on the phone we need to arrive a half hour prior to our services. When we got into the spa lounge there wasn't a single person in sight. We looked around and couldn't find anyone so we just sat there and waited, and waited and waited. 20 min later the receptionist finally walks in and very flustered like asks us if we need help. Um ya, isn't that your job? So she shows us into the changing area and such and give us our robes and shoes (more on that in a minute) then says you need to come back out to the lounge right away so your therapist can find you, keep in mind, this place is TINY! So we put on our robes which are of very poor quality and feel like gritty sand paper and the one size shoes that were too small. We then notice that the only bathroom is in the shower stall and that is the ONLY shower and bathroom in the entire spa. So one guest cannot use the restroom if another is showering and vice versa which is very very odd. So we go back into the lounge area as instructed to wait for our therapists. 40 min goes by (30 min after our schedule appointment time) before we're greeted by a therapist. Keep in mind the receptionist says NOTHING to us the entire time, doesn't offer water, tea, nothing. My therapist barely introduced herself and said no more than 5 words to me before leaving the room for me to get dressed. They advertise a "customized" massage experience. I get onto my massage table and wait yet again for like 15 min for her to return. She returns, doesn't adjust the cushion under my feet or the sheets but gets right to the massage without turning off the lights or anything. She starts the massage and it's with freezing COLD lotion, not warmed and not room temp but both her hands and the lotion are ice cold, through the entire massage. With the bright light ON! It was awful. She was very aggressive even when I asked her to lighten the pressure and I felt like I had gotten run over by a truck for days afterwards. I actually had physical bruises on my back from the "massage" I received. My best friends experience was equally terrible. She was straight up karate chopped by her therapist which has happened to neither of us before in the over a decade we've been frequenting spas. The place is also loud! The doors slam all throughout the place, the receptionist was talking her ear off to someone who works the front desk at the hotel and we could hear their conversations throughout our entire treatments. Upon checkout the receptionist didn't ask how things went. In fact she told us she was "so annoyed" because the computer was not acting right. She also originally told me the massage was one price over the phone but then upon checkout told me it was $65 more. It was without a doubt the worst "spa" experience we've ever had and we couldn't get out of there fast enough. The following Monday I called and left a message for Karen the manager that went unanswered for days. I called 4 times and left 4 messages and didn't receive a call back until I called the 5th time and Asked if she had any intention on calling me back. I had also tried emailing her via the email they have in their email to you and their website but it was no longer in service. I finally got a call back and explained all of the above to her. All I got was a simple "I'm sorry, I'll see what went wrong" "there's not much more I can do". $175 each for a massage experience from hell and there's nothing she can do? Seriously? Come on. I tried to give them a chance to make it right but they didn't so I have no choice but to warn others. Don't waste your hard earned money here. read more

My little sister purchased a facial/massage package combo as a thank you gift to me and when I attempted to schedule services, she texted me instead of calling me back. Okay, no big deal - I'd rather text anyway. She asked for my credit card information over text, even though I told her the services were already paid for! I have now attempted to reschedule, because she put me down for the wrong services, and she won't answer her phone, texts, or emails. I told my sister to get a refund. I will be reporting this business to BBB. I don't know why O Hotel has partnered with her. This is awful. read more

A hidden gem in DTLA, perfect for busy execs and workers in the area... Facility is clean, sleek and convenient. During my first visit following an action-packed business trip, I had the Weekday Express Massage (25 minutes) which was such a nice, relaxing treat! I was also really impressed with their $20 Shower and Steam access-- perfect for when you have a big evening event but don't have time to head home or outside of downtown in-between the office and the next venue. They also sell adorable Made in LA products featuring some cool skincare lines. One caveat: make sure to book your appointment online! Very efficient, hardly any wait as a result, but not a spot for an impromptu drop-in. read more

Loved Frais Spa!!! Made an appointment for 2 people last minute, and they were able to easily accommodate us. We mentioned a groupon deal we had seen, which included a 60minute massage and 30minute facial for 2, and they gave us the deal without having to purchase the groupon. Yadira was our masseuse and Eva was our esthetician. Yadira was very professional, and extremely good! She gave us one of the best massages either one of us has ever had. She has great pressure control and really concentrated on the areas I needed the most work. Eva was also very good. She was gentle, unlike other facials I've had. She gave us extra attention and each of our facials ended up being 45min, no extra charge! We left feeling relaxed and fresh! Came here for some pampering for my best friends birthday! It's tucked away in a corner of the O hotel and I was pleasantly surprised at how trendy and clean the place is! We enjoyed the steam room and rainfall shower where we were told to use and enjoy all of the available amenities (nice!). The robes were of high quality and very comfy. And the best part- I enjoyed my massage with Janet very much!! Strong hands and very responsive to special requests. There was a small hiccup with the online payment system which the owner, Karen, addressed and fixed right away. Overall very happy customer. I rarely go out of my way to review a place but Frais deserves it. First off, the space is beautiful, great attention to detail and I love the one of kind jewelry and products in the waiting area. And let's not forget the yummy tea you get while you're waiting. The changing room is loaded with high end products to use (Moroccan oil), plush robes and slippers and the steam room is amazing. I would come just to sit in the steam room. And then there is Noelle, with hands from heaven. Having an 11 month old to chase around, mama was in desperate need of a massage, and Noelle did not disappoint. I also added the hydrating wrap to my service, I would highly recommend it. As French ladies, our expectations are high because we are used to French beauty spas. The store has nice locally sourced and organic cosmetic products. The treatment I had was with EmerginC. It is the first time I see results improving on my skin during the days after the service. I bought a gift for my husband, Body Brick (Das Boom), featured in a recent GQ magazine, this brand is only for men, it was a good surprise they had it. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes (in a sing-song manner)! I have been in search of a chiropractor with a massage attached. Coming from the east coast this was always the norm for me. I can't believe it took me over 10 years to find this! If you've read past reviews, I'm a self-proclaimed massage connoisseur. The Thai massage has always been my go to as it's the only place that will do really deep stretching along with a deep tissue massage. Because there is a licensed chiropractor on staff, there is a legitimate review of my body's needs, a consult with the massage therapist prior to the massage, then an adjustment afterward. You're given a formal diagnosis so you have the option to file with your insurance. (haven't submitted as of yet, but will update upon that little experience) The spa is located in the back of the O Hotel off Flower. It is a very intimate hotel you could almost pass by if there wasn't a doorman there in the evening. A bar can be seen from the outside and once in the lobby, it has a nice modern and clean feel. You go down the hallway all the way to the back (this is in the event the concierge is busy checking people in) and follow the little stickers on the floor to the last door on the right. I was greeted immediately by the receptionist, filled in a few forms for the therapist and the doctor, and then had a lovely cup of tea while waiting. Dr. Fernandez met me downstairs and then escorted me to his office to be evaluated. He picked up right away on my neck, shoulder, and back issues, took notes, and then consulted with the massage therapist about my needs. My therapist was Chantel and she has tiny little robot sensors in her fingers. If there was ever a cylon it is this woman and I'm all for human-robot hybrids if this is the end result because she FOUND the deep nasty knots in my back and shoulders! But wait it gets better! She stretched out my neck and hamstrings like the legit pro she is. This is the only way to really get a good adjustment. Dr. Fernandez was able to get a really really good adjustment on my upper back, lower back, & neck which is incredibly hard to do without feeling like you may snap someone's head off. Here's to my expensive USC insurance taking this claim and I invite all of you with long term back and neck issues to check this place out. read more

My boyfriend and I were told to face opposite directions, when we began our massages, which was so bizarre. My boyfriend said his mesuse was also cold and mean.
