I love this place. I am a picky eater who loves pizza, and there are only two places I'll go for pizza. Fralo's is one of those places. They have a great atmosphere, and the BYOB is awesome. However, it's the pizza that really makes the trip to Leon Springs worth it. Admittedly, you do have to be a fan of thin crust pizza (and theirs is so good!), but the toppings that you can choose from absolutely put everyone else to shame! The ingredients are always fresh, and some of the combinations that they have right there on the menu are to die for, not to mention the fact that you can build up your own pizza with whatever you want on it. They are somewhat pricey, so I don't get to indulge as often as I'd like, but for a nice night out with the hubby or the girls (or guys!) it just can't be beat. read more

I'm just not getting it with these other reviews. My experience here was just ok at best. The pizza is over priced to begin with, 21 bucks for a margherita pizza? The crust is thin as I like it but again just ok. Service was ok too, a little slow at times. The picnic style seats were a little tough on the backside and the music wasn't that good. Great service, cute little place. Really unique topping combinations on their pizzas. Brilliantly they offer a sampler pizza. You pick any 4 of their signature pizzas. They create an 8 slice pizza with 2 slices of the 4 choices you picked. I'm more of a basic meat lovers pizza. So while the people that I came with split a sampler pizza, I had their lunch special. It was an 8" pizza (up to 3 toppings), a small mixed salad, and a drink. It was good, fresh. Just missing something for me. The salad was outstanding! My friends all enjoyed the sampler pizza. They also split a salad and calamari and raved about both. Probably won't go again, but that's just due to my personal picky taste! read more

Excellent pizza place up by Boerne Stage road. Its not listed on thier menu, but they do have vegan cheese for their pizzas! They also have a huge selection of toppings. Previously is was BYOB but now they have a beer and wine menu. You can still bring your own but they charge you a $5 cork fee. They seem to have live music everytime we go, so I am not sure if its an every night thing or just special days. Worth the short drive from San Antonio though and if for somereason you're still hungry, The Point Park and Eats is close by. read more

I love Fralo's. I discovered it on Yelp and after a recent visit gave myself a hand slap when I realized I had never sent a review their way! Anytime a place is BYOB, you can probably count it earning a couple stars from me. So that's where I begin my Fralo's review with the fact that I have drank some of the most delicious (and least expensive) beers and wines on their patio - because I brought it from home. That's such a plus. Their pizza is just woohoo! incredible. On my last visit I split a Little Hottie with a friend. Doesn't that sound naughty? Well, it kind of was. It's a pizza with spicy tomato sauce, spicy italian sausage, fresh roma tomatoes, red onions, fresh jalapeno, corn, cilantro all living in harmony on some tasty handmade dough. It was sort of Mexican meets Italian. Superb. And the venue is lovely. Sit out on the patio and listen to music (It was a tad too loud last visit but that's because we were hoping to chat a bit more at our table). I have been to Fralo's a few times and each time I have enjoyed a delicious, unique pizza. They give you so many options for toppings, its hard to not get a great pizza. This last time I went I got the whole wheat crust which tasted great and made feel like I was being all healthy and stuff... I then proceeded to use the creamy pesto sauce as a base, so I guess it doesn't count. But it was tasty, nonetheless! To top it all off, this place is BYOB, which I love! Only a $5 corkage fee. A great place for superb pizza, craft beer, and local music. They have a nice covered outdoor patio/garden area. Their craft beer selection is most excellent, better than most places. Their pizza is awesome with lots of variety from the traditional. However, I was not at all a fan of their Arancini appetizer, it's fried risotto ball. Fried rice-yes!!! But fried up rice-oh no! Weird texture and just bleah. Outside of that, Thayer salads were awesome and pizza craft beer and music, one great hangout! read more

I thought I had previously rated Fralo's, but it appears i had not. Been eating her for several years and I would have previously given it 5 stars. The service has always been good and the atmosphere is relaxing. But the star of the show was always the pizza. It was among the best in San Antonio. Unfortunately something changed in the past 6 months or so. Not sure if they changed suppliers or the recipe, but the pizza is not nearly as good as it once was. In fact, it pains me to say that it's actually pretty bad. The cheese is now greasy and has a strong smell and taste. It absolutely overwhelms the pizza in a bad way. Hey Frank, please sort this out for us longtime Fralo's lovers and bring back the pizza we loved. read more

The waitstaff is extremely rude. We've been here a few times and never had an issue, but today the service was horrible. Food was brought out at separate times and the person bringing it out didn't even have the right table. He came up to the table and said "does this look right to anybody?" I was so disappointed!! I had heard some good things about the place and was excited about trying it so on our way home from a job site in Center Point, in our grubbies, we stopped for pizza. It was very casual dining outside and the acoustic live music was very nice, but the prices seemed high for the product and the service was a bunch of teenaged kids who hadnt a clue . If i am going to pay high dollar for a product that isnt really a high end product, i expect the wait staff to be knowledgeable about the menu and perhaps even helpful...they were not. I also was grossed out by the fly buzzing around in the shaker jar of crappy powdered parmesan adorning our table. And the pizza was burned on the bottom. I was a Chef for 22 years and while a bit of char is acceptable, this was clearly too hot an oven for the crust. It was just one more example of S and M eating in San Antonio...Stand and Model. Really enjoy this pizzeria. A favorite for the locals, and some of the Spurs that live near by. Seating outside is very refreshing under under the large trees. Local bands play here regularly. Can even order a "take-a-bake" if you can't stay or want to enjoy a night in. Some of their specialty pizza's might sound strange to some, but you really need to try them. They have one special that you get two slices of each of their specialty pies - that is the way to go for a first visit. It was perfect for me & my husband. read more

First, I have to admit that I am not a fan of thin crust pizza. I want some sauce and I like to chew on the dough. This place would not make it in the city. Its niche is that you can sit outside and drink beer (bring your own), and let your kids play so you can talk to the adults. The pizza is adequate (if you like thin crust) but not outstanding. You had better like kids if you go during peak times, because there are plenty of them running around unsupervised. The staff is young, and sometimes service can be slow. read more

It's an amazing place and to top it all off (drum roll) you can bring your own beer or wine! This is not a cheap Dominos or Pizza Hut type place, this is high class dining in a casual atmosphere. Just had a late dinner after a day at Sea World in San Antonio. This place freakn rocked! Not only could we be served after 12 midnight but the food was OUTSTANDING! Our waiter Tony killed it by helping us picking some specialty pizzas that were fantastic. The Spinaco "lamb" pizza was awesome and the pear and brochette was incredible. Yelp reminded me on how our dinner date was. It was BAD. Service was horrible and the food was even worse. My wife ordered what she thought was the "healthy" pizza with lamb and feta cheese. When it came out it had over a pound of mozzarella provolone mix in addition to all the other items noted in the menu. My wife ate one slice and couldn't do more. It was like biting into a block of cheese. After at least 30 minutes of no attention from servers or anyone, someone finally came to ask if we needed anything. We mentioned our displeasure with the pizza and were told we would get a discount. At the end of the day we were given half price on my wife's pizza (although we only ate a slice and a half). I'm unhappy at the entire experience. Seems his place is doing well as it was packed, but they really need more servers. On my opinion the pizza is way overpriced. We will likely never go back. If the place was closer to home we would likely go back for drinks and to listen to music, that's about the only good part. read more

Fralo's is a great restaurant out in the Leon Springs area. Absolutely worth the drive when the wait isn't super long. Has a beautiful outdoor patio. At night with the lights up makes for a great, relaxing atmosphere. Largely outdoor seating-- Dog friendly! Live music! They also have some indoor seating and a bar area. That patio is a huge highlight of this place. It's great for families, friends, dates. Their hand tossed pizza tastes super fresh and delicious. They also allow BYOB. When they get super busy, it can get really slow though. We waited over an hour for our food. The first time I've been we had a really good experience, but after this last time-- honestly it's not worth waiting over an hour in between appetizers and pizza with the cost that it is. Fralo's is my favorite place for pizza in San Antonio! The setting is great, the atmosphere is fun, and the food is superb. We love their baked chevre with olive tapenade as a starter. We've tried many variations of pizza toppings here and they have all been good. The have excellent sliced meatballs with a delicate texture and perfect seasoning, but my favorite pizza is probably the Lorfa's Five. The salads are great and enough to share--especially if you are getting pizza too. We bring most of our out of town visitors to Fralo's and they always seem impressed. It's fun to BYOB, although the corking fee is a little high so we usually don't. All in all, this place is worth paying a little more for great ingredients and a fun South Texas atmosphere. read more

My visit to Fralo's was on a whim with some friends, we had nothing better to do on a Saturday afternoon and were hungry. Wish we had known it was BYOB, our trip might have been better. It wasn't very busy when we arrived and were seated right away, with 100 plus degree weather, who wants to sit outside? We were quickly re-seated inside and our order was taken. I remember reading their disclaimer at the top of their menu that indicates their wait times may be longer then most places. I must say though, the food came out relatively fast. The pizza was alright, I'm more of a deep dish fan myself but I can definitely see what the hype is about. I was satisfied with our meal and the service was alright. The only reason I am giving it 3 stars is because I don't think it was good enough for me to drive back out there later on when I have a hankering for some pizza. However, its definitely worth a shot if you've never been. read more

There's an option to get a sampler pizza where each fourth of it is a different specialty pizza. I think it's just a few bucks more than the regular price of a specialty pizza ($26ish?). Grant's Pear Pizza: One of my faves. Just the right amount of pear to mix things up! Torino: Sounded good but kinda just tasted like a regular pizza from anywhere eles. A little too salty for my taste. Nutty Chicken: Another winner! All the flavors in this one melted together well. Duck Sausage: This one had jalapeno seeds in it, which were so overpowering that it ruined the taste.. But if you're meticulous enough to pick them all out, it's actually good. I still think I like Grimaldi's the most out of all the pizza places I've been to in SA, but with all the unique toppings here, it is definitely a close second! Overall, the prices could be lower. $26 is kind of a lot for a pizza that feeds 2. The crust could use a little work though -- it was thin, hard, and too crunchy for my taste. I liked the outdoor seating and the vibe here -- will be back when it's warmer! read more

Fralo's really knows how to make a good pizza. This place has an amazing atmosphere with good live music almost every night. Stop by early as this place tends to get packed quickly. They have a very large selection of wine and gourmet pizzas I've never heard (some are great for vegan lovers). The wait staff is awesome. Making small talk and offering us samples before we try was something I've never seen before. The one only problem I have with this place is that is gets packed and there is a very long wait but it really makes up for it in quality food and quality service. They also deliver outside of the 1604 loop so that makes it my ideal delivery spot as well. read more

I was here for a friend's bday gathering and I was going to take some pictures of the variety of pizza we ordered since we probably got everything on the menu, but we ate them all before I had a chance. I'm not a pizza expert, nor I'm claiming to be one, but their pizza are outstanding, even the veggie pizzas are good. It is BYOB, but they charge $7 cork fee, not a big fan of that though. They have about 15 craft beers on tap, including 5 Texas beers, bonus for that. We have a party of 20, and they were able to put all of us together without any problems, service is friendly, even though there were only 2 staff that day, fast and efficient. Parking space can be muddy after the rain, so careful if you are all dressed up and don't want any mud on you. read more

Never coming back the food was bland, absolutley no flavor, service was horrible our waiter forgot our garlic bread, told us the lasagna the cook was sending out was burned so he sent it back.
