Some of the worst service I've experienced and the food wasn't much better than the service. Server said he would be right back...took 15 minutes. All the food came out at the same time, despite ordering apps. Got some of the order wrong. Never came back to refill drinks...I ended up walking up to the front to get it. And the food wasn't good. Our go to small business for pizza and simple pasta dishes. Their vegan menu is great. They offer vegan cheese and vegan meat substitute options. They make a vegan sauce for pasta. The portions are generous. I prefer their vegan pizza over Mellow Mushroom. It's my VEGAN heaven for pizza and pasta. The owner is always nice and accommodating. Cute little spot. Only about 8 tables total. The food take time to come out but it's packed well with appetizers or salads coming first. Everything is made from scratch so that's worth the weight. Went there for the first time Saturday night. We had appetizers and later pizza the garlic bread appetizer was delicious. I stopped into this neighborhood pizzeria with the purpose of having a sausage and ricotta pizza. I've discovered that not a lot of pizzerias have ricotta as a cheese option, so I was happy to know at least this one that does. Having had this particular pizza before from this restaurant, unfortunately, this time did not meet my expectations. The sausage was ground very fine and was very lightly spread. It was not nearly enough to even remind me it was a sausage pizza. The cheese was good and the dough and sauce were okay. We ordered online bc when we called to order the women on the phone expressed they were far to busy to take an order and use the Internet. I hate internet ordering bc I have a few very severe allergies to foods and I just feel comfortable explaining how serious it is if you add it and then remember then remove it. So we ordered online anyway. The online order form does not allow you to remove a single ingredient from any specialty pizzas. If we would have ordered the pizzas on the build your own 2 large pizzas would have cost 72.80. As it is the receipt shows an up charge of +4.50, +4.50, +,1.50 and +2.00. A total of $12.50 with no explanation. My end total was $60 for two pizzas. If it said I was being charged $30 a pizza no problem. Is it a tip??? We picked it up??? Drove to this location after seeing an ad on Instagram. Upon checking the menu online, I was extremely surprised and delighted to see a full vegan menu section! Note: I had trouble accessing menu on my phone. When clicking menu, it went back to the main screen but the menu pops up if you click Order online. While I am not vegan, I do like to eat and support establishments that cater to the vegan/vegetarian community. This restaurant receive a major props for taking the time to make their own vegan ingredients that resemble home made vegan/ vegetarian recipes. They do not use beyond/impossible meat as a common substitute but instead prepare their own (from what I can tell.) When you walk in, you can scan the menu up front and if dining in you can take a seat and a waitress will take your order at the table. We went earlier on a Friday night and it seemed like most orders were for take out. We started off with the cheesy garlic bread (regular) which was insanely good. The crust, bake, cheese, seasoning, and dropping sauce was heavenly. Then I ordered the penne and cheeze with shrooms sauce off the vegan menu and my partner ordered the build your own pizza with vegan sausage and regular cheese. I was very surprised at the portion of my pasta dish but there was a large amount of sauce so it was not as much pasta as it initially looked like. The favor was delicious and I truly enjoyed my food. First vegan pasta dish of this kind I have had at a restaurant in San Antonio. The pizza was good as well but my parter (who normally is used to beyond and impossible meat on pizza) was initially off put by the sausage. After getting used to it, he did like it. The meat replacement was heavily seasoned and placed generously on the pizza. Sure, nice place with friendly enough service (except for the unknown straw charge- more on that momentarily) and a laid back atmosphere. Much smaller than expected, only one small room. But the food? Totally invalidates that. Aside from the subpar food, I feel the need to make a point about them charging us 10¢ each for straws. No, seriously. *"Composted Straw: $0.10" And we were not even told about it. Because if I had known, I would not have wanted a straw. On principle. And then, when asked how the food was and having said it was a little dry, we requested a side on *Alfredo Sauce, apparently $2.50 (How can Alfredo sauce be this salty? Or this uneven? It seriously tasted like a mouthful of aged cheese and saline). Again, not told. Last but not least otherwise-negligible-if-not-for-everything-else-complaint? Waiter told us it was their 5th Anniversary and therefore we were getting garlic bread on the house. Found out after we left that we were charged $5 for it. Unacceptable. Yes, I am docking at least half a star for this ridiculousness. Nice that they have Italian Craft Beer and tap. We only had *Sweet Tea (very strange coming from me, the girl who always adds extra sugar, but this was excessively saccharine) and *Dr. Pepper (standard fountain). *Pizza Rolls (4) were the best thing here. Mini Calzones. Lukewarm, but that yummy mozzarella was melted enough. *Cheesy Garlic Bread was minimally cheesy and already slightly dried out when it was served. Garlic flavor and seasoning was good, though. *10 Piece Garlic Parmesan Traditional Wings. Already a little disappointed that the ten piece only allows for one flavor, and even more so when we tried these dried, almost hard at the edges meat. I have made tastier wings from frozen at home. Maybe a wet sauce would have made them more edible. *Shrimp Nostra Pasta was actually a stand out. Angel Hair pasta al dente, a tasty though saturated sauce, capers, sun dried tomatoes, and shrimp (not peeled, flavorful though not exactly plump). Served with bread that is totally not worth mentioning. However, the *Caesar Salad it came with was actually fresh and tasty. *Custom Calzone (Italian Sausage, Green Peppers, Mushrooms) was not very well baked. The ingredients were actually fresh and tasty. This, I deem it yummy, as long as one expected it to be a folded flatbread or sandwich rather than a hot oven baked calzone. Excellent toppings, awful calzone! Well. Now for the supposedly main attraction, the pizza! We decided on *Large 16" Pizza, 1/2 traditional Pepperoni & Bacon, 1/2 Chicken Pesto (Basil Pesto Sauce, Artichokes, Chicken, Tomato, Parmesan, Mozzarella). The one word verdict? Unsatisfying. Poor quality meats. Bacon was the fatty end curls, pepperoni extremely thin and lifeless, chicken dried out. Sauce meager and flavorless. Or else there was so little I could not taste it. Artichokes were probably the sole commendable ingredient. Interesting, this pizza was the opposite of the calzone. Good enough pizza, but the toppings were awful! The overall verdict? This place is a rare gem. My fiancé's family introduced me to this place 3 years ago. When I say this place has phenomenal pizza, it is your must go to pizza place. We love to order the Spinach and Ricotta Pizza along with the Margherita pizza. This pizza is baked to the perfect crisp while having the creamiest cheese. If I could change one thing, it would be to have customers order at the counter for sit-in dining or have a dedicated cashier. Great little neighborhood pizzeria! We ordered a giant meat lovers pizza and it was indeed giant and delicious. One kid had the kid's spaghetti ($4) and meatball ($2.50 add on) and the other ate most of a medium cheese pizza (the medium is the smallest pizza they sell). Both kids ate with gusto and were very happy with their meals. Two adults ate about half of the giant pizza and we were stuffed. The restaurant is comfortable and has a nice ambience. It seats about 50 inside and has a few outside tables. The servers were pleasant and attentive. They have beer on tap and wine. Overall, we had a nice family meal in a casual atmosphere. I'm anticipating that we'll be eating here a lot. Editing review from 5 to 4 stars due to another visit that was not as good. They got our order wrong (medium instead of large pizza) and seemed unconcerned. Food taste overall was not as good. About an hour later, the food arrived and after opening up the containers, I became hulk-level pissed. The sub?
