We had a CVS minute clinic appointment and wanted a quick treat afterwards and saw Francesca's! Everything in the cases looked amazing and ordered eight empanadas to cannoli to black and white cookies a bag of ginger snaps and a bag of chocolate chip cookies and everything was so good. I'm so glad we made this stop and I have to say the cannoli shell was crisp and the cannoli cream was one of the smoothest And tastiest and not overly sweet. I would definitely return for that and try the donuts next time as well. Highly recommended! read more

Dissapointed experience, early Sunday morning, place was empty, staff member on the phone for an extended period of time, need to grab a quick muffin and go to work, clerk ignored me and when I spoke up was rude and lectured me about interrupping her on the phone. She REFUSED to sell me a muffin or any other product. Will never return, it's sad , bakery has a good product, but it's in an empty outdated strip location, they should welcome customers NOT ignore them or be rude and obnoxious. Staff need better training , very sad and unprofessional. read more

Napoleons are to die for; coffee and cookies are great. Service has been great, people were friendly and very accommodating. Prices are decent. However, I will continue my search for a cake with real buttercream frosting; their's tastes like slightly sweetened shortening, no better than Shoprite, really. How hard is it? Strictly reviewing the farmers' market stand at Rockefeller Center--thank YOU for giving me something to look forward to while wandering aimlessly around work. This magnificient stall have a huge selection of sumptious goodies so eat up with your eyes and get in line! I cannot vouch for all the items here because that means I'll be adding on 200 pounds onto this body and -$200 from my bank account BUT I am confident that everything here tastes delicious. There's always a crowd clamoring for their food, and I hear all sorts of different things people ask for so that's gotta mean something right? My must-haves are blueberry cornbread and blueberry scones, but that's just the gluttonous gal in me talking :) read more

Cute little bakery, stopped by since I was in the complex. They had a decent selection of breads and cakes. I decided to try the mini fruit tarts. The crust seemed underbaked and it was really hard to get out of the tin container. There was also just way too much sugar glaze on top for me. read more

Holy cow! The pandemic has taught me to be patient when things don't go as planned and to allow others to go ahead if they're in a rush. Today was no exception. I ordered my pies online and went into the bakery to place my roll order last week. Thanksgiving is a huge holiday at my house pandemic or no pandemic. There's just 5 of us but we spare no expense. The pies I ordered at Francesca's were delicious! The apple crumb, peach, pumpkin and lemon meringue pies were awesome. My wife's fresh whipped cream added the finishing touch!!! read more

I wish I had found this place sooner. They had really good ice coffee. I like the Linzer tarts a lot but the filling is just a bit sweeter than my ideal. I wish the madeleines had a more buttery flavor but I like that they had lemon. read more

Francesca's staff have been consistently sweet and helpful since we started going here in 2013. They have flavorful and delicious empanadas, fluffy doughnuts, and all other kinds of treats to try, including sweet and savory pies. The owner is awesome and puts a lot of care into the running of the bakery. They have great prices, too. read more

So glad Francesca's is reopened with a bright and shiny new inside. More glad the quality and tastiness of their goods has not changed. The empanadas! Such variety - perfect size always tasty. Tried the vegetable strudel - very tasty and a nice addition to our brunch. Knishes - we tried potato and spinach with feta - both were yummy. Lots of options for breads, pies, cookies, quiches - hard to resist buying more! But by far the favorite thing we bought yesterday was a coconut ring coffee cake. It was tasty and moist and perfect for a summer treat with coffee. Again so glad to have this bakery back! read more

There are quite a few bakeries in this area, with each having something great. This bakery has great scones, and sad face cookies that are quite funny and which taste great. The chicken pot pie is great-it's filled with mashed potatoes and is tasty. The quiche is also very good. They seem to sell out of certain items quickly so probably the earlier you go in a day, the better. The owner is very nice and helpful. read more

I love stopping by this bakery for donuts--the seasonal pumpkin or apple cider ones are amazing! The bread is fresh and the owner is friendly, which are simply additional perks to having this as a local institution. Oh, and when I'm too lazy to cook dinner, I can pick up a quiche or chicken pot pie here as well. One final must-try is their apple oat muffin: it is moist and not overly-sweetened like most muffins are. read more

Nice, quaint bakery, customer service was great. My boyfriend and I like trying out new eateries and this one was on our way to a hike. I ordered a chai latte and an almond croissant and were both delicious, especially the almond croissant!!! My boyfriend ordered a coffee and an alfajor which he enjoyed as well. I would definitely return. My boyfriend actually went back and purchased an empanada and enjoyed it as well. read more

I recently discovered this bakery and I have tried several of the items, all of which were great. I LOVE the doughnuts! They are much better than Dunkin Doughnuts and even cost a little less. The service is always friendly. This is a great alternative to a supermarket bakery to get something nicer. read more

I first happened upon this bakery while going to my jeweler. I stopped in as I have been looking for a bakery ever since I relocated to Lincoln Park and hadn't found one I like. Upon entering I could see the fresh loaves of bread neatly packed on the shelves. Also the bakery was immaculate and I could smell the croissants and that's when I turned to see them before me on the top of the glass shelf. They were big, and I had to try one. It was crisp and buttery on the outside and flaky and moist and buttery on the inside and melted in my mouth. I had to purchase another and ate it later that day. I also ordered a large latte and I have to tell you I haven't been that impressed with a local bakeries coffee in a long time! Perfectly balanced expression with milk. You can help yourself to the cinnamon, or chocolate on the counter as well. I am so happy I found my new bakery. All their items are freshly baked daily. There is a farmer's market where Francesca's Bakery set up a booth selling their baked goods in Jackson Heights and I used to go there often to get breakfast every Sunday. Over the years, their goods have degraded considerably. I remember, a few years ago, they had danishes for $1.50 and they were extremely scrumptious. The dough was crispy and they were perfectly sweet and had a lot of filling in them. Today, I just got a danish - they went up in price $2 and they taste terrible. The dough is stale and very salty. What kind of danish is salty. I guess times change. :( read more

There was a stand outside by the white hall ferry terminal with many other tents with food. Me and my gf stopped here and saw the applet cider donuts. It was 3 for 2 so we were like let's try it. We started walking away but after we finished the first donut we went back and got more. The adorable old man laughed that we came back and my gf got more. Then we walked away. Then I'm like you know what I want to bring some home. I get 3 more plus a jelly donut. The apple cider donuts were amazing. However my gf mixed up the bags and took my jelly donut. I was upset. I bought an Apple turnover and it was light and flaky. The crust was melt away and not greasy at all. I also bought blueberry scones which were moist, unlike most scones I get, and really good. I would highly recommend this bakery. read more

The best apple cider donut I have ever had. And I don't really like apple cider donuts. They fry them so they still have a crisp on them, but yet sweet and airy. And for 75cents, it's a steal. I am a donut snob and it's not uncommon for me to drop $4 on a donut. Check them out at borough hall farmers market in BK on Tuesdays. read more
