They have complimentary coffee, juice & water by the front desk. Big fish tank and a pool room for the members & visitors to enjoy. On the same hall way you have a small library room, gym room, salon & a little movie theater as well. Basically, the first floor consist of many activities for everyone who are living there to enjoy. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The maintenance of this Plaza is spot on with soft music and very non slipped floors.

My mother-in-law has been renting a 2 bedroom apartment at Olaloa for almost a year. There are also…read morestudio apartments and 1 bedroom apartments. All of the units sold as real estate and then owner occupied or rented out to tenants such as my MIL. Tenants must be 55 years or older, completely independent in their care (can use oxygen, walker, or wheelchair) or have a caregivers for light duties. While there is staff on site, there are NO caregivers. Many of the residents have lived there for several years, still work and still drive...nicer cars than me! The grounds are well maintained with beautiful landscaping and many of the units have a gorgeous view of the Waianae Mountain Range. The main gate to the community is closed at 6pm and on the weekends. Guests can call the unit they're visiting on the intercom system, but sometimes the system isn't working. If a resident has an emergency, the main office assures emergency personal can access the tenant-though they have their own remote control to open the gate during evening hours-and notifies the family. There are no dining services on site, but all units are equipped with their own kitchen or can sign up for Meals on Wheels. There are daily activities, a library and a gym but it is all in the main building which can be a far walk for tenants. There is also a community garden that the tenants can contribute to, but again, it's rather far from most units. Unfortunately my MIL doesn't utilize any of these services because the walk is too far for her so I can't comment on them but it's nice knowing they're there. All in all, Olaloa is a GREAT community for seniors who don't want to or were having difficulty maintaining a large home. I love having my Mil close by so we can assist her as needed and know that she is in a safe environment.

Went online to schedule an appointment after surfing their website which looked great! Someone contacted me within the day to schedule a date and time. A couple days prior to appt she called to remind me and gave some info on where to park and where to check in. Appointment went smoothly - met with sales manager, Jeffrey Fishman, and he really knows how to explain things, address concerns, follow up on current info, takes the time to make sure all our questions are answered satisfactorily. He has been very patient with us in securing the right space for Dad and checks back with us on any changes we should be aware of. This branch of the Plaza is beautiful, spacious, very clean and I love the wall to recognize military veterans with their pictures and service. The rooms are a nice size, nicely appointed and the shared rooms are spacious with a nice little entry area as a sitting room. Plenty of things for them to do with a shuttle service for excursions and also covered parking for residents. The residents all looked happy and content, the overall vibe was positive from staff and the dining area with the chef's menu was outstanding! We haven't made a decision yet because Dad needs to see the place for himself, but we wanted to write this review because of the way we have been respected during this difficult process of entrusting Dad to others and the kindness of Jeffrey Fishman.

I asked a young lady who was just standing outside of the front desk to take a picture and she looked at me and said she was busy...what, standing around??? So she asked the lady behind the desk who was busy answering the phones and assisting a couple at the front desk and that lady replied she was busy at the moment. The young lady then said she would take our picture...made us feel uncomfortable and not wanted around! We were thinking of maybe staying there in a few more years, but now we may have to think about it.

She would sit in soiled diapers or could of fell or any type of emergency and no one would know due to long periods of wait times. Wait times varied from 15minutes or up to 1 hour while I was there. Kept her phone near told her to call 911 you might get help faster or try to yell for help if emergency. Also, was not made aware if discharged earlier than planned discharged would not be able to file appeal if needed to. Would be nice if communicated this, patient and family could reconsider to planned discharge. Nothing was stated when request made for earlier discharge one day prior. This would be really beneficial for future clients too. Food could be better and temperature. Not very sanitary. Need more cleaning and steam cleaning of their bedding and curtains and use of gloves all the time.

Knowing this, would I consider having my loved one in a place like this, where nobody returns my calls? Absolutely not! All I wanted was information and a tour of the facility. My father in law should receive the best care, and if calls cannot be returned, phones can't be answered in admissions, it's a BIG INDICATION of the care that he would receive while there. They have high level of care. A mobile dentist comes by this daycare to clean our mom's teeth. They do many activities there to keep our mom engaged, such as playing music, singing, painting, etc. They also go all out with great decorations during holiday events, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Mother's day, etc. It's great that they are open everyday including Saturday and Sunday and even most holidays. I highly recommend Aged to Perfection. This is a great place.

They also enjoy the daily activities and the musicians that come weekly to play local Hawaiian songs. The local style cooking reminds them of home. The staff (aides) and nurses are outstanding as they monitor their care needs and all of their medications. My aunt who needed a blood test received it there from the nurse as I was not able to take her to the lab. I don't think most other care homes offer this service. Having a nursing staff on duty, we felt that was an important decision to consider. I would recommend Waialae Senior Living to family and friends.

Having to place your loved one in an assisted living facility is one of the most difficult decision…read morefor a family to make. The process is stressful, emotional & can be overwhelming! There are so many options out there & finding a facility that is the right fit for your loved one is so important. Our family had to make that heart wrenching decision to place my dad in an assisted living facility & after looking at many options & visiting many facilities we first placed him in a large facility that was very nice, staff was nice & looked like it had all the bells & whistles...after about 4 weeks & many reasons later we knew that it was not a good fit for him & we needed to move him...he needed a smaller more home like atmosphere with more individual attention. A friend suggested Kina'Ole in Kaneohe & we arranged for a tour with the owner Beth. From the very moment we entered the beautiful gated property we knew this was the place for dad...it was exactly what we were looking for! The grounds are so beautiful & well taken care of...3 separate homes on the property with beautiful trees & flowers everywhere...nice paved walkways & even a few chickens running around with their baby chicks...my dad loved it!! We decided to place him there & it is the best decision ever!!! Dad's house has 8 rooms...each resident has their own large bedroom & private bathroom which we could decorate however we wanted too...so it could feel like home for him...theres a large living room/common area where the residents have their daily activities & delicious home cooked meals & where they can just relax together on their own recliners & watch a movie together & have a snack. There's lots of staff to help out & to care for dad & all the residents...the entire staff at Kina'Ole are amazing!!! They have made the transition so easy for dad & our family & to watch dad immediately feel welcomed, comfortable & relaxed there has been the best feeling in the world!! Dad loves to be outdoors & take walks & the staff will take him outside twice a day for a nice long walk or whenever he'd like one...they truly care for the residents as though they were their own family members! Dad told me that he "feels spoiled" there cause they all so attentive & take such good care of him! I almost cried hearing him say those words because I knew we had found the perfect place for him!!! He is thriving & happy & so are we!!! We now don't have the constant worry we had before...we know that everyone at Kina'Ole makes it their priority to care for dad's physical & emotional well-being...we finally have peace of mind The icing on the cake was last week I got a text message for Wehilani (head nurse in his house) & she sent me pics of dad out & about with his housemates enjoying the gorgeous grounds & having fun with his new friends. She shared with me how his week went...how well he's adjusting, how his appetite has been, how he's been sleeping (great) & just a report of his week Kina'Ole is a hidden gem & our family feels so blessed to now be part of their ohana!
