I decided to buy a shirt and pants. Franco offered to fit the black shirt I was wearing for free when I come back to pick up the clothes I was buying! I was asking Franco for advice on what kind of shoes to buy and from where. Instead of just talking to me about it, Franco actually took me to a shoe store near by and helped me look at shoes! Note that it was obvious he had no business relationship with them. He was just being extremely nice. He wanted me to look my best. I needed my new outfit the next day, and they were able to fit it for me on time. After taking it home, I noticed a small scratch on one of the sleeves, which is unnoticeable unless you actually study the shirt closely. I kept the new shirt for a week before going back to pick up my old black shirt which they fitted for free, and I showed them the defect. Without question or hesitation, Franco said he will give me another one for free, and I got to keep the old one since they can't do anything with it. It was so easy that I felt a little bad! Though I shouldn't, since it's an expensive shirt and it should be perfect. I've gotten more compliments about my style when I was wearing the shirt and jeans that I bought at Franco Uomo than I ever expected, so I thank Franco for his great sense of fashion. In short, great experience. They care about their customers, they want them to look good, and they want them to be happy. They even alter regular ties to bow ties at the customer's request. The store is small but filled with the most beautiful fabric and the care the staff makes to make sure every fitting is perfect is exceptional. A place to buy truly special and well fitted clothing. I've purchased several new suits in the past few years and I must say that the service just keeps on getting better! Franco's team continues to impress with their custom suit styles, excellent tailoring, and service. Like Franco always says, "Its all about you!" I own many Franco's products such as ties (bow & regular), suit, and handkerchief. When it comes to formal attire, I wouldn't shop anywhere else. The quality of their products are superb, high end, light weight, and comfortable. I personally like bold flashy pieces with colors that pop. Everything there is a statement piece. I just went to a wedding and everyone was giving my compliments on the suit and bow tie. They were like, is it Armani? haha...if you don't like all the attention you will be getting then I believe they also have more subtle suits. But you gotta have a tie that pops. The array of ties that Franco has is more than enough. You will for sure find a matching tie with your shirt and suit. Just visited Santana Row to walk in the annual fall fashion show and although every store is great, Franco Uomo and his store is a standout. Not only is there clothing top notch in design, colors and looks, the service is unparalleled. There are plenty of stores in Santana Row but the fact that Franco is in the store and welcomes you personally, it makes me want to stop in every time I go to the Row. Don't get me wrong... Franco Uomo in Santana is a five star location to buy a suit but giving it a five star grade wouldn't give it justice. It's obvious all of the employees there are looking to get better at customer service and fashion. This gives them room to grow. I was lucky to have Franco help me pick out a suit to impress at my works Winter T.O.C. (a ball with dinner and dancing). Yet, all of the people there were a great help with choosing what works for my skin color and body tone. They also made me feel like I was most important even though they were busy getting prepared for a fashion show. Now the obvious, this place is expensive but I've learned in life that the most expensive things are the ones that you appreciate more and take great care of. Simply put, Franco and his staff are the absolute best when it comes to fine men's wear. I bought a suit from Franco about three years ago. My sister works on Santana Row and told me about this store that was "my style". I checked out Franco Uomo and I LOVED IT. I would describe my style as liking lots of colors and that dapper/unique style. I enjoy dressing up and like that Italian slim-fit tailored look. I don't look like the guys in GQ, but my suits look like they came straight off the GQ pages! In about two hours, Franco worked with me to find the perfect fit suit and stayed in my budget. I work in real estate, so it's not like I have tons of money. Franco's suits are not inexpensive, but definitely in my price range. I have an Armani suit that I got as a gift, and my Franco suit looks better (feels better too) and it was $1200 less. While there is some salesmanship presented, I never feel pressured or forced to buy anything. In fact, Ike (Franco's brother and fellow salesperson) showed me several ways to mix and match shirts and accessories to keep my costs down. They even spent 20 minutes with me and my clumsy fingers showing me how to tie a bow-tie! I love my Franco suits and I always look forward to stopping into the store - even when I am not going to purchase anything. They have such a great selection of clothing choices. And what I really love most is that I can confidently buy something and can genuinely not worry about attending a function and seeing someone wearing a similar outfit. I'll give it to you straight. The prices are up there in the designer suit & clothing level, and at some level you probably expect that when you walk in and don't see a price tag anywhere. But the reason why is because I think the store does an awesome job of letting you focus on style. Style is more European, then classic, boring American (Brooks Brothers is right next door if that's what you are looking for.) The personal attention to your wardrobe there means you can't go wrong. And I do mean personal. Franco himself will introduce himself, fix your collar and trim your stray threads, all the while telling you fabulous stories and helping turn you into a much more dapper person. His $90 ties might be cost-prohibitive for some, but firstly, it's in Santana Row. Secondly, you are paying not only for exquisite goods, but for impeccable customer service. The first time I entered Franco Uomo, I was greeted by Franco and Connie and I remember him stating (After observing me look around for a minute or so.), "Brother let me help you! I know your style! Can I show you something?" "Sure!" I replied internally wondering, "How the he** can this guy no my style and I've only been here for 3 minutes?" Franco proceeded to walk me over to a sport coat which was exactly my proper size. Absolutely love this place. I was set to get married last year 2020 but with all that's happened we postponed it to this year April 2021. I wanted a custom suit and seeing that I've gone to them for other items before, there was noway I was going through anyone else. Ike helped me throughout the entire process and was extremely patient with me. He was never pushy but very interested in what my needs were. He wanted to make sure I looked just as stunning as my wife but not takeover the spotlight of course. Fast forwarding to 2 weeks before the big day, it was time officially pick up my suit after final adjustments made. Ike asked if I had everything I needed to complete the look. I told him I was still in need of a bowtie and handkerchief. He told me that he could make them custom for me and would have them ready just in time for the wedding.....He came in clutch as these were the missing pieces of the puzzle. I could not believe the work through the stitching to the button sew to the bowtie. Absolutely amazing!!! I cannot stress how much I love this place. Let me start by saying this place can be pricey....but it's definitely worth every penny. These guys are awesome. My wedding was approaching and shopping for a tux was becoming a daily ordeal of trying on suits but nothing fitting. I'm fairly athletic and although not super fit, it's hard to find a suit jacket that fits the shoulders while not being too baggy at the chest & waist. It's also hard to find pants that fit my legs/thighs without being too big for my waist. After several disappointing days of trying on suits in stores, I entered Franco Uomo with my wife to be and best man. Immediately I was approached by the Wardrobe Consultant, Ike. We told him about the upcoming wedding. He took a look at me and challenged us that he could find a shirt that would fit me perfectly without taking my measurements. My first thought...."yeah right"...Ike left and came back with a shirt that fit nearly perfectly. Very impressed. He recommended a custom made suit and showed us a ton of options. Although I was a little apprehensive (about the cost), I agreed. Over the days ahead, I worked with David and the master seamstress to ensure the shirt, pants, jacket, vest, and bow tie were measured to perfection. I'm not a bow tie guy, but David and Ike made sure that I could tie it correctly. David even took the time to make a video showing me how to do so. He's a professional, and outgoing. I picked up the tux a few days before the wedding and it fit perfectly. As this was my first custom suit, I never knew a suit could fit so comfortably. The wedding went great. My family, friends, and wife were impressed with the fit. David, Ike, and rest of the crew at Franco Uomo are pure class. They're passionate about what they do and their work reflect that. read more

After shopping here for a few years now and wondering what I think of this place -- I finally know . . . Emperor's New Clothes. Franco's business leads you to believe he's got an Italian business going on. Really, there are premium prices, no quality. The "custom" jeans my husband bought in 2008/9 are faded and my husband has only worn them a few times, as he has many other nice clothes from actual European makes. The pants and shirts are too tight (and my husband is 74kg and 1.93m so tall and thin as a rail...). My husband's and my wedding was wonderful and yet Franco somehow managed to produce the single-most worst experience at our wedding -- for nearly $3K not a single cummerbund or bowtie fit. Each piece in the whole set of 5 or so was 3 or so inches off. And what's more, we placed the order at the beginning of 2015 and Franco only started at the end of July. For a wedding in August. He did not design a single tie, for we gave him all the instructions, bought/took pictures of the fabric materials and consulted multiple times from point of sale onwards. My advice is to stay away. Quality, fit and communication shouldn't be issues at the price point this "local bespoke" shop commands. It should more accurately be called "made-to-measure." As a customer, I am led to believe I am supporting a bespoke local tailor with impeccable quality fabrics with equal talent at cutting/sewing those fabrics. The problem is Franco doesn't know how to even sew a button. Maybe he thinks he can be like Marc Jacobs and not sew but still be a designer...I don't really care about the backstory. His clothes are always too flamboyant-ly match-matchy (taste level is questionable at times), he knows better than to use plastic buttons (cellulose acetate is a better quality material or horn), etc. There are lot of Instagram-worthy shots to be made in the store. It's set up to be that way. Having spent an embarrassing amount of resources here and living just above the shop, I would like to suggest: go to Saville Row, shop at Michaels&Sons, buy yourself an Armani Suit, bite the bullet and buy a "boring" Hermes tie&cummerbund set. Do any of those things and you will be much, much better off than wasting your hard-earned money at Franco. There are plenty of local bespoke clothiers in the world. read more

When I visited Franco Uomo to be fitted for a made to order suit, I was made comfortable and provided booklets of different fabrics to search through. They gave me helpful advice about the types of fabrics and the advantages/disadvantages of each and the place it would hold in my wardrobe (e.g. would it work for every season, can it match with most wardrobe items, etc.) They were also up front about their prices so there would be no misunderstanding going forward. I appreciated that. After they had answered my questions and fitted me for a suit, we discussed the delivery time for my suit. I told them I was in a predicament, and I was in need of the suit sooner than they typically allowed for a made to order suit. For a time, I thought I would have to go someplace else. This would have been a shame because I enjoyed my experience at Franco's and wanted to give them my business. Well the staff at Franco Uomo went above and beyond my expectations. They said not to worry, they would take care of me, and that they did. At no additional charge, they expedited my suit order, and I received my suit in less than a month. This was first class treatment. My suit arrived at the store when I needed it and the quality is superb. I have an athletic build with broad shoulders and a narrow torso, so most off the rack jackets from places such as J Crew or Nordstrom's don't fit me very well. My suit from Franco Uomo fits me very very well. My pant length may have been slightly longer than ideal, but before I could say anything the staff spotted it immediately, and said they could make alterations to it at anytime. The pants still looked fantastic, and it wasn't a big deal as it's only noticeable if I was not wearing shoes. This gave me confidence in my purchase because I knew they were there to make sure I was happy with my purchase. I plan to go to Franco Uomo for all my suiting needs. *Although I am posting this review for the Santana Row location, I had actually visited both this and the Valley Fair stores.
