I found a hidden gem amongst the office building in and around Zinfandel. The space was not large but was warm and welcoming. I was greeted warmly when I entered and ordered a breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was tasty and a great price. I shall keep this place in mind when I want a quick tasty breakfast served in a cozy place at an affordable price. They also serve lunch which I will also consider. I love supporting small businesses and like to use cash when doing so to help offset their expenses and keep their menu prices affordable. The prices here are GREAT but the food is hit and miss. I ordered the bacon egg and cheese omelette with avocado and hashed browns. The hash browns were inedible. Tasted like freezer burn. But the omelette was really good. My friend had a breakfast burrito. I had a bite and it was kind of bland. I would recommend sticking to basic breakfast and you can get a cheap bite. read more

Just had the Chicken Tenders and Fries, one of my favorites. This Mom and Pop shop serves Breakfast and Lunch items. They have a Breakfast special starting out at $3.70. Their breakfast burritos are packed, the Chicken Sandwiches are gigantic. Very big!!!! They have salads also. Opened Monday thru Friday. it's a great choice. Off Hwy 50 at Zinfandel exit. How did I not know about this place? I work close by but for some reason just sort of stumbled across it. I'm glad I did because it's really, really good. I got an Ortega grilled chicken sandwich, which is a modest name for a freaking delicious sandwich! The chicken breast was nice and moist and there was a ton of cheese and green chiles on it. My friend got the chicken tenders with fries and even this pedestrian dish was surprisingly good. The owners are just as sweet as can be and the service was quick. With my company's office recently moving to Rancho Cordova, I was thrilled to have a small café run by a husband and wife available as an option to grab breakfast or lunch. This is not Michelin star level cooking or food but it is made with love and checks all of the boxes for comfort food. Franco's café has an extensive menu with everything from omelets and breakfast sandwiches to burgers and wraps, but what they are really known for is their breakfast burritos. That was the first item I was introduced to at the café and is an all-time favorite. The portions are large and the prices are cheap. I am also a big fan of the bagel breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese and choice of meat. To date I have tried their Philly cheesesteak, BLT, grilled cheese, breakfast burrito, breakfast bagel sandwich, and coffee. I just tried this place out for the first time and all I can say is that I absolutely loved it. A must-visit cafe if you're in Rancho Cordova and want a delicious and affordable meal. Super reasonable prices and all the food tasted fresh and made on the spot. I had a pancake sandwich with bacon and the breakfast box with sausage and they were both great! However, what differentiates this cafe from other places is the atmosphere and amazing owners that make the guests feel right at home. The uplifting and positive vibes the workers exude right when you enter the cafe is a breath of fresh air that a waffle house rarely brings to the table nowadays. Even some guests were dancing to the music as Franco was cooking up their breakfast, which just goes to show the positive energy this cafe gives off even if its 7AM in the morning. It's a simple office building hot grill/cafe. The prices were fairly reasonable. (Not hash browns). $3.75 for an egg muffin with meat was good. It was very small 4" roundish. My husband got me hooked on Franco's Cafe. He would go with his coworkers. Then when we started carpooling I would go with him. My usual is the breakfast box no meat no cheese, scrambled eggs with veggies mixed in and salsa on the side. Sometimes I get the potatoes. Or I'll get the bacon on the side and give to my husband. I've had a salad for lunch once. They have a pretty good menu at reasonable prices. I love the customer service as well. He cooks and the lady takes the orders. It's pretty fast so you won't have a long wait. We order ahead sometimes depending on the time and how early we get to Rancho before work. I like that it's a local small business and he's still here. Most people would probably go to a fast-food restaurant up the street, but I like fresh cooked meals and it's always good to support the locals. read more

When I think of the best small cafe and eatery in Rancho, I think of Franco's. It is conveniently located next to a bunch of offices (including mine) so whenever I don't feel like driving to get something to eat, I choose the 5 minute walk to Franco's. This cafe is awesome because it's actually Franco that's cooking all the food! I always order the breakfast box because it's only $3. Note: there is a 50 cent charge if your order is less than $5. I appreciate that their registers are updated so that I can use ApplePay on those days that I forget my wallet at the office. I also love how they have crinkle cut fries! Solid place to get a get some good food around the Rancho business parks. I got the cheeseburger combo and the thing was dripping with flavor, literally. A little too much condiments for me but overall a good burger if you want kinda like a home style burger. A reasonable about of fries on the side and fairly priced.
