Finally found a place that offers an açaí bowl that truly reflects what you'd get in Brasil. The texture and the flavor hit the spot. None of that icy, thick or sometimes even watery concoction that you buy from other places mixed with who knows what. The space is small, designed really well, and the cultural nuggets around the store transports you to Brazil. I had the chance to meet the owner. She shared the history of the space, her story of how Mimo came to be as well as her passion for design and marketing. You see her work throughout the store. I will be back to try their tapioca sandwiches, and for sure be back for more açaí bowls.

I absolutely love the mocha pistachio! My daughter got the Brazilian lemonade and so refreshing.

We were in the area and were very hungry so we decided to give this spot a try. Looking at the reviews and website it looked pretty new and the food looked delicious. The moment we walked in we were warmly greeted by the owner and given many wonderful choices. The interior was nice with lovely pictures and drawings describing the Brazilian culture. We ordered a few good things on the menu but I have to say my favorite two were Pao de queijo & Coxinha! The cheese balls were perfect especially paired with cream cheese! I could eat those every single day. The Coxinha (chicken) were so juicy and crispy outside it reminded me of a Vietnamese pastry. Loved the experience and will definitely come back for those two when around the area again!

Driving by, I noticed that a new business had gone into the old "subway" around the corner from the Mather VA. They had just opened a couple of months ago. They are a regular at the Midtown farmers market, and this is their new "brick-and-mortar." It is a Brazilian theme. There are pictures and decorations all over the walls that depict Brazil. They have a large amount of Brazilian sandwiches on the menu, made with tapioca bread, which I had never heard of. They also have smoothies, açai bowls, desserts and coffees. I went for the gafieira, and I loved it. I had never had tapioca bread, it was flavorful and moist. I liked the grilled cheese on the outside of the bread. They were very generous With the fillings, and the Dijon mustard and pickled onions kept it from being too rich. There was also a small side salad, which gave it another little pop of freshness. To drink, I had a Brazilian cherry soda., which was excellent. For such a high-quality sandwich, and an imported soda, the price was reasonable. I want to come back and try more things, especially that Brazilian coffee. Thank you!

This was my first visit to Mimo Bake Studio--and it absolutely will not be my last. I ordered a mocha Brazilian coffee, and it was genuinely excellent: rich, smooth, and clearly made with care. Monique also offered me samples of a few baked items, and while I can't remember all their names, I will never forget the caramel she handed me on a spoon. That alone could've convinced me to come back. It was fresh, balanced, and indulgent in the best way. The space itself somehow checks every box: small but cozy, clean, modern, and artsy all at once. You can immediately tell this is a place where intention matters--from the way it looks to the way it feels when you're standing there. And then there's Monique--the owner and baker (along with her partner, who was hard at work in the back). She took the time to walk me through the entire menu with such warmth and pride. She's the kind of person you could talk to all day--the energy of a caring mom mixed with the fun aunt who deeply loves what she's created. Her passion is obvious, her kindness is real, and you can feel how much heart goes into everything they make. Everything is handmade, fresh, and from scratch--and it shows. I also want to say this: with the VA hospital next door and large businesses like Vitalant nearby, this would be an incredible place for companies to treat their employees to coffee or pastries. Supporting a business like this--one that's clearly built with love--just feels right. Please, please, please give Mimo Bake Studio a try. You will not be disappointed. This place deserves all the love it's going to get--and then some.

First time trying this by my job, everything tasted great and fresh. Definitely earned a spot in my lunch take out rotation. Açaí bowl was to die for! Best one I've ever had. I also got cheesy bread and chicken croquettes to share with the office, everything was great!y only wish is that made there was some sort of sauce to dip those in but still good :)

Nice new Brazilian coffee shop! I tried their Pão de queijo, a Brazilian cheese bread, and a Pistachio iced latte. The bread came out piping hot and the inside texture was like a mochi consistency with a nice cheese flavor. The Pistachio iced latte had a nice sweet taste and was a great pair with the bread. There is plenty of parking, a good amount of seats and 2 swivel lounge chairs in the back. There are 2 bathrooms, which were really clean! The server was friendly and brought out my order quick despite them just opening. I would come back to try their other treats. Only downside was the prices were a bit high. Overall, great experience!

OK... So the location is very unassuming you walk in, and order on a tablet. Make sure you have a little bit of time to wait, but the coffee is delicious. I will definitely be back to try one of their crêpes.

I stumbled upon this local Brazilian bakery café on Yelp and was immediately drawn in by their impressive selection of gluten-free savory and sweet options. I decided to stop by for a late lunch around 2 PM today, and it was easy to find and not busy at all. Choosing what to try was the hardest part because everything looked so good! I went savory this time and ordered a sandwich with chicken, bacon, corn, and cream cheese, plus a side of their famous Brazilian bread. They have a tablet for placing orders, which I used--it was quick and easy, and the staff at the counter was super friendly. My order took about 10 minutes, freshly made, and there was a small language barrier, but the staff was incredibly sweet. They even explained, using a translator, that next time I could order online and have it ready for pickup if I wanted to skip the wait. I also noticed they have a lot of promotions via QR codes on the menu and even on their bags--so thoughtful! I really appreciated the personal touch--my bag even had my name with a little smiley face on it, which was such a sweet touch. Portions were generous, and the food was fulfilling and delicious. I'll definitely be back to try a sweet treat next time--maybe an açaí bowl or a coffee. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for fresh, flavorful, and gluten-free-friendly Brazilian eats!

Highly recommend the Brazilian coffee and lemonade!! Perfect balance of sweetness. Amazing flavors!! The owner is also super warm and friendly! Can't wait to try all their menu items.

Came in to work and try out this Brazilian cafe. The owner and staff were lovely and welcoming. You immediately feel like you're home. I loved the photos and back story of each.

We have tried multiple Mimosa House locations, and this one is by far and away our favorite. There are a lot of breakfast spots out there, but what keeps us coming back here is not just the food, which is always solid, it is the people. The staff at this location are such a good team. Nick, Danielle, Skylar and Devin (and Omar when we get to see him), every single one of them is friendly, on top of everything, and just genuinely good at what they do. You can tell they all work well together, and it makes a difference. Even when it is busy, things run smoothly and you never feel ignored or rushed. And honestly, that kind of experience does not happen without a strong kitchen and the rest of the team behind the scenes. We may not know everyone by name, but it is clear they are all working together to keep things consistent. It is one of those places where you start to feel like a regular without even trying. We have even gotten to know a few of the other regulars over time, which just says a lot about the kind of place this is. You walk in, get a smile, maybe recognize a familiar face or two, and know you are going to be taken care of. We have made our way through a good portion of the menu over time. My husband is all about the chicken apple sausage, and I tend to switch things up depending on the day. Everything we have had has been consistently good. Nothing overcomplicated, just really solid breakfast done right. My one, very small, wish? I would love it if they opened up the lunch menu a little earlier. We are early risers, and every now and then I just want a good patty melt and some great fries for breakfast. Weird? Maybe. But I stand by it. Whether you are someone who likes to sit, relax, and enjoy your morning, or someone who can somehow run in, toss a card down for a quick mimosa, and be out the door in record time, this place has you covered. Either way, you will be taken care of.
