This establishment specializes in Nashville style fried chicken. Since I've never had it before wanted to try it out. Place is clean and well laid out. Ordering is at the counter with a handy menu behind. Speaking of the menu, it is an interesting combination of items. Bubble tea is on it (didn't order this trip). They have "sandos", which is the Japanese name for sandwiches (mostly on milk bread). Saw that these sandos didn't utilize milk bread so I also passed. They also have chicken wings with Korean style flavors (like garlic soy and spicy garlic soy). I ordered 6 garlic soy wings along with 4 piece chicken fingers. Both selections came with pickles and sauce. The wings also came with celery. Both were equally delicious. The wings were juicy and crispy (garlic soy was on pointe). The batter was light and not too thick (which I like). The chicken fingers didn't not taste like the frozen kind, but fresh chicken breast marinated, sliced into tenders and fried. It was very tender and juicy as well.
I'm going to base this off of my only experience ever when wanting a chicken sandwich from here It was everything I ever dreamed up (a bit pricey, but what is anything supposed to cost anyways... Messy Sandy with no cheese - it probably would've been incredible with cheese but I try not to be too gluttonous This is the bigger sized sandwich It was great the slaw and sauce on top of an absurd piece of chicken in between buns Whatever the chicken flavoring was really hit the spot Didn't know what to expect but it was delicious and my brother "crushed" the last quarter sandwich in a jiffy
A coupon in the mail and a celebration spurred us to visit this newly opened restaurant. I miss the Flower Child which is in the same strip mall and closed during the pandemic and we happy to see this open. The restaurant gets a lot of carry out orders and the day we were there, not many dine-in customers. Food was hot and tasty. We loved the Sando chicken and the fried okra was a big hit. Ordering was easy, there's a electronic ordering system. Great food
I stopped by this location twice last month and each time I left with delicious food and plans to return. I was supremely surprised by how moist and juicy the chicken was in both the Chicken Sando (so big it doesn't even fit the bun) and the Chicken Waffle. The spice levels on each were perfect for me and my husband. The accompanying Waffles were very good. They are slightly sweet so much so I didn't have to use syrup if I didn't want to, and have mochi like (chewy) texture. Going for a different side, we went with the fried okra. I appreciated the larger than normal portion size and found the okra to be crispy and well-battered. The dipping sauce served with the okra was a perfect and creamy pairing. I am looking forward to trying their bubble teas next!
I got to go order, so I did not dine in the facility so I can't add a common about the ambience Service was great. I got my food on time. The chicken sandwich was OK. The chicken itself was very dry. However, the chicken was very well seasoned. If you like a more juicy chicken, I would not get the chicken sandwich because it was flat and dry. But if you don't mind dried chicken and you prefer flavor than this is the perfect sandwich for you. The fries were the winner of the entire meal. The honey butter fries are the best Price I've ever had in my entire life. Please do yourself a favor and try them if you try nothing else.
Very calm and quiet location across the way from Trader Joe's. The establishment was clean and nice. My brother and I ordered through the kiosks, which seemed a little impersonal, but to each their own. Pretty much the service was just providing us our drink cups and beeper to let us know when our food was ready to pick up (ate in the restaurant). The chicken sando was very delicious and the sauce was a great compliment to the size of the sandwich. I liked the seasoning on the waffle fries in the combo, but I felt like it wasn't enough for the price point. I would come back again to try the tenders and the boba.
I ordered the honey lemon pepper wings and combo 4 of wings (medium heat), fries, and drink. I enjoyed the crunch of the wings and the heat of the medium seasoning. I would say medium has a good kick and may be spicy for the average person. The honey lemon pepper seasoning was not my favorite because of its sweetness. I wish it was a dry rub instead. Overall, I like the wings because they are crispy and juicy. I feel like there are a limited number of flavors that I don't usually go for, so Hangry Joes is not going to be my go-to wing restaurant. Other than that, I think you should give them a try!
First of all I would like to start with this is my 1st time eating here. I was told to try it out by my bestie the service was amazing staff was really nice and friendly. I had the loaded fries. These portions are really huge and could hr shared I couldn't even eat 1/2 of what I had. The flavors how crispy the chicken was with a good balance of spicy was great. Like I was extremely impressed with the place. The area was nicely kept clean. They do have music playing which is fine. I went off peak hours so I couldn't tell if it gets too loud with music with others. Overall it's a great chicken place. 100% recommend it.
This place has the biggest fried chicken sandwiches ever! I've eaten here 2x now and I could never finish my sandwich in one sitting. I love the big pickle slices and such generous amounts of cold slaw within the sandwich. It gives it extra flavor and that satisfying crunch. I'd definitely come back again!
8.30.22 My colleagues and I have eagerly been awaiting trying out this new halal restaurant. I had read a few mixed reviews about the wait time being painfully long so we decided to place our orders online. My colleague received an email confirmation, but I must have typed in the wrong email address as I didn't get one. We put down our pick up time as ASAP. I called and they said it would take about 10-15 minutes. Upon our arrival, our orders were ready at the counter. I ordered the pineapple-mango fruit tea and chicken & waffle. One colleague ordered the chicken sando with no heat and we split our lunches. My other colleague ordered the 4 tenders combo which came with waffle fries and a fountain soda. I loved the chicken sando which had slaw on it. The chicken was crispy and the sando was hearty. It's a generous sized sandwich on its own. The chicken and waffle was decent. I would have preferred my chicken and waffle to be crispier. If I had ordered there it may have been. It may have gotten slightly soggy as it was packaged to go since we ordered online. I tried a waffle fry from my other colleague. Mine wasn't too crispy, but he said a few of his were so it may just not be consistent. My fruit tea was good, but next time I'll ask for less ice as it may have watered it down since I didn't drink it right away. Lunch was very hearty. I am still full, which is very rare. Lol. A few helpful notes: -They have a few kiosks in the restaurant to place your order or you can do it online. -You can scan the QR code on their door to access their menu. -They are located in Travilah Square next door to Pholicious and Tropical Smoothie. -They have seating for takeout orders along the wall and limited patio and indoor dining seating. -Beverages include: 1) Milk tea 2) Smoothies 3) Fruit tea 4) Slush You can adjust the sweetness level and order toppings. I'm definitely a fan. Next time I am going to try either try either the chicken nuggets or Leg & Thigh 1/4 bone-in. I also want to try their milk tea.
Delectable and juicy chicken sandos! Food quality is great and consistent with their Fairfax location. I love the addition of drinks like boba and milkshakes here! The Reese's milkshake was so yummy and the flavor was perfect. I'm glad they offer a smaller "Jr" size of their chicken sando at this location, because the original is a bit too large for me to finish in a sitting. The Jr size was perfect and still had the same crispy, flavorful, and juicy fried chicken! I liked the fried okra - it had a nice, crispy coating, but was quite salty. Their fries were amazing as always. This location is quite new, and still seem to be working out a few kinks (they forgot our pickles and the boba's sweetness level was not adjusted accordingly). Nonetheless, I enjoyed my filling meal and would come back if I was ever in the area.

Whew! But the food. The Korean chicken bites were hard chunks with sauce. The chicken tenders were dry. The mochi waffles were too dense and hard. Not chewy or fluffy. The chicken sando was ok. My nephew ate it with no complaints, but he rarely ever complains about food. Not sure if it they're going through new location opening blues or not. Going to take a while before I go back though.
Love the chicken bites from hangry joes! This is a fast casual pick up spot and they are always quick with their orders. I usually get the medium chicken bites which packs punch with the spice. They also come with pickles and hangry sauce which is delicious. I've had the salad from here as well and they are always generous with the portions. So many hot chicken spots have popped up recently but this is one of the best. And the service is always fast and efficient. One of our go to spots! read more

Hangry Joe's in Rockville (the location by Trader Joe's) is the BEST EVER location. We have been here multiple times - dine in and take out - the staff is super friendly and helpful, the food is BEYOND DELICIOUS!!! Our experience has been so positive that we tend to compare other locations to this one and have a negative experience elsewhere because they're not to the level of standard of this one. The chicken is beyond delicious, super tender and well flavored. The tenders are twice as big as the ones in other locations. And the service is amazing each and every time. We're going to keep coming back. read more

We tried this place after we received a few coupons in the mail. The service was fast, and the food was pretty good. I thought the salad had a good amount of chicken to it, but the sauce was a tad spicy for me. read more

So Mr Kim tried to "handle" me through his staff. It just made me stop come here FOREVER now! I brought him back all this crap food as I said I would. Then he tried to only replace "some" of it because he wasn't there after he said he was. Keenon (I'm sorry if I spell that wrong) will go places in life. He's amazing. He's genuine and sincere and tries to make the customers happy when there's been a wrong done. He was threatened by his "superiors" if he did something that was already promised by Eugene when we talked. I hope Keenon knows how much I appreciate his kindness and his great service. My husband says he's there every time he USE TO GO!! I hope he finds a job that appreciates him. This company clearly does not. If my business was closer I'd hire him. STOP SUPPORTING businesses that sell bad food and treat their staff poorly. Without customers and good staff (which is really hard to find) this business doesn't deserve to stay open! It's so hard to find great staff and this place has at least one and they treated him like the crap they serve. I hope they feel the wrath of what customers can do and I hope this employee finds a better place to work that will show him kindness and not threatened his job every time he has to fix their mistakes. HOW ABOUT DONT MAKE THE MISTAKE IN THE FIRST PLACE... just a thought. read more

We both got the Chicken Sando (sandwich) which is a large fried chicken fillet with slaw and a pickle in a brioche bun which wasn't large enough to fit the piece of chicken (see photo). The chicken fillet is much larger than you would get in a chicken sandwich for a similar price elsewhere and the sauce was quite tasty - comes in different levels of spiciness. Overall quite tasty, though my sandwich was a tiny bit on the dry side. Overall, good value. read more

New favorite hot chicken place!! The chicken breast on these sandwiches is sooo huge and so good. I love the seasoning and sauce they use. I'm a fan of spicy food but the mild heat level is hot enough for me so that it's still enjoyable and I can taste the flavors. Compared to other hot chicken spots these sandwiches are way more filling and chicken is juicy and flavorful. I've had the chicken sando, waffle fries, and korean chicken nuggets that come with rice. Everything is great and the service is fast and helpful. Love it! read more
It was ok but I'm not pressed to try this again. I got the chicken wrap with fries and even though it was a lot of food it wasn't very satisfying. The food is also very greasy and it's pretty pricey. At least $12 per person. read more
I got a mild chicken tender combo with fries and a drink for a total of $14.79. The service was solid. The chicken tenders were decent but smaller than expected which doesn't match the price for them at all. The fries were good and seasoned but wish there was more. The sauce they added was pretty good as well. For the most part the food experience was overpriced & decent and I would not return or recommend unless prices were lowered or portions were bigger. read more

I've been patiently waiting for this Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken location to open and finally got a chance to try it out recently. Two times in fact. The first time I ordered online and my food was ready at the time promised. Second time around I ordered in store and my food didn't take too long to prepare. Parking is available in a fairly large lot just outside of the restaurant, but the lot can be rather crazy especially during peak hours. Decided on the chicken and waffles during my first visit. After reading some reviews about spice level, I decided to get my tenders at a medium spice level. Definitely should have gotten hot as I found the medium to not be spicy at all. The tenders were a pretty good size and came with four, which is a lot especially with the waffles. Waffles were pretty good, a little thicker than I'm used to though. The chicken and waffles were plenty to share or for another meal. To wash down my meal I had the strawberry-lychee fruit tea, which I really enjoyed. The lychee flavor came through nicely, and didn't overpower the strawberry. I also tried some of the waffle fries, which I enjoyed. Not greasy and were crispy. Although I didn't try the chicken sandwich, I do have to say it is HUGE! Definitely bring your appetite for this one. I assume a chicken sandwich junior would be more in line with your standard chicken sandwich size. C&N enjoyed their chicken bites with no seasoning (which was just plain, fried chicken bites). The second time around I tried the Korean chicken nuggets with spicy soy garlic sauce. These nuggets were essentially the chicken bites tossed in spicy soy garlic sauce, and served with rice. I wasn't a fan of this dish. The sauce had a weird taste to me. Definitely will not be getting this next time. Instead of a fruit tea, I got a taro milk tea with boba. The boba was cooked well and was soft, and slightly chewy. I enjoyed the milk tea, which had good taro flavor to it. read more
So excited that there is a Hangry Joe's in Rockville! They do not take orders through the phone yet, but they have a website where you can make online orders. This spot is unique where it has some different items (fried okra and Mac and cheese) and also has bubble tea and smoothies on their menu as well! I placed an online to go order. The sandwiches were missing the slaw which is a big part of the sandwich, but the manager Eugene resolved the issue professionally. The fried okra was delicious, first time trying it and would highly recommend it! The fries were delicious as well but wish there was a bit more for the portion size for the combo! Even without the slaw, sandwich was still very tasty and would come by again. read more

Food was cold and old. Just ordered food for myself and kids and the waffles were clearly made hours ago. I can barely bite through them. Chicken is not even warm and the fries are warm at best. Employees were nice but I will never eat here again if this is the quality of food that they provide. read more

Solid chicken sandwich place. There are a lot of options including a salad as well, plus you can even spice up your salad if you'd like. I do like the self-checkout center on display. The service was great - no complaints. The ambiance at this location was very quiet, but then again - I did come at an early lunch time. They also serve milk tea if that's your thing. I did not try it, but worth trying out. They do accept credit cards (obviously) and there is plenty of free public parking. Just be mindful there are other stores nearby so the amount of spaces could be limited (plus it's a small-ish area). The only star I knocked off was just the price. Not sure if it's inflation/economy but the sandwiches are a bit pricey for me. I will say it's probably more filling than getting Chick-fil-A. Definitely worth checking out! read more

My son & I loved this. Everything was delicious! Boba was on point for my teenage son. I got mild spice for my Sando Jr but it was perfect for me & the slaw added a nice crunch without overpowering the flavor of the chicken. Waffle fries were on point & their dipping sauce was great. Son loved the chicken & waffles, waffles were a little sweet like funnel cake & medium spice for the chicken packed a good punch! read more

One of us were in the mood for some quick chicken and waffles so we decided to stop by here for lunch. We ordered the chicken and waffles, loaded mac & cheese, and the wings. The spicy one is spicy. You can definitely feel the heat but that's about it. You can't really taste anything else other than spicy. The loaded mac & cheese were filled with more chicken than the mac & cheese which were great! Portion is definitely generous. read more
