3.2.24 Service Hubby and I started at the bar while we waited for friends. Hubby and I struck up a conversation with the owner who was friendly and personable. Owner worked the bar and served drinks, but also came around and took order for drinks when we transitioned to our table. We later had a server who was great too and came by frequently to clear our table and asked if we needed anything. Ambiance Fun and cute Irish decor throughout the pub. Loved the vibe. Bar, dining, and patio seating. Live music at 8pm on Saturdays. Drinks Extensive menu of wine, whiskey, and beer. Happy hour on all pints (16 oz), Glass Wines and Rail Spirits, Monday-Friday from 4-7pm and all day on Sundays (only at the bar). $2 off on bottles and cans in Saturdays. Food Menu Weekly Specials include: Monday: half priced burgers (night and dine-in only) Tuesday: unlimited veggie curry Wednesday: prime rib Saturday/Sunday Brunch (11am-3pm) Food Rating -Fish and Chips: average -Reuben sandwich: delish -mozzarella sticks: good -calamari: average -banofee pie: average (Friend wanted to come here as she was on a mission to try this, but sadly it disappointed.) Final Impression Love the service and ambiance. I don't drink so can't comment on it. Food was decent, but didn't have anything that was noteworthy. A great pub for St. Paddy's Day approaching.

Cool Irish Pub! Stopped by during happy hour to catch up with my favorite Yelper. We sat at the bar. Great service by Lauren and Louie. I wasn't hungry so I can't speak on the food. Drinks were good. I was impressed with the selection of bourbon/whiskey! I ended up trying a new one, Heaven's Door - I liked it. The customers seem to be regulars. I like this type of vibe. I would come again and try the food. Parking wasn't bad - found a metered spot. Definitely pay the meter - they do check!

Nice little spot with nice staff. Food was pretty good and they had a ton of local beers, both on tap and in bottles/cans.

I went on a Tuesday (COVID times) for my actual birthday. I called ahead to reserve an outdoor table for safety issues, and also so my friend and I could bring our dogs. Unfortunately severe rain was predicted so I called ahead and asked to be seated indoors. No problem, they said. We arrived promptly at 6:30 and were surprised to see the county surface lot direct across from them on Price Street was marked as free, yay! I am now thankful we were seated indoors because everyone seated outdoors was smoking! It smelled awful. If we had our dogs we would have had to leave. Once inside it was a different story. There were only two other tables occupied. They had moved out many tables so proper social distancing was enforced. I ordered a shandy which hit the spot. I haven't had a beer since this pandemic began. (I can't say the same thing about wine though.) I got the fish and chips and my friend had a hamburger. The fish was tender inside the perfectly crisped batter. They give you oodles of fries which my friend was able to help me out with, and I still had leftovers. I accidentally deleted my picture, but there are others on this page to view. But perhaps the best part of my meal was my birthday treat (On the house thanks to an email that arrived that afternoon)... bread pudding. This was the hugest piece I have ever seen served in a restaurant. And it was warm and delicious. I only ate a small portion there, and had two additional servings later. Get this! Overall, it was a happy birthday for me. This was my first time dining out during the pandemic. I cannot praise them enough for all they do to keep everyone safe. Our server made it a pleasurable experience too.

We had an hour to kill between events and needed to grab a bite. I saw that there are a bunch of vegan options (even for brunch!), so this spot was the choice. Holy cow, it was awesome. The server was fantastic and on it. I didn't even mention we were in a slight rush, and we were still in and out in 45 minutes. Food was hot and fresh-- and delicious. The kid's menu was pleasing to my kid. I got a great brunch sandwich with vegan egg, and my husband enjoyed his dish, too. It's Silver Spring, so parking is always fun. There's a nearby lot, though, so it's not awful. Cannot wait to go back, and highly recommend you visit, too!

This will be my go to Irish pub in the area. Fantastic Reuben sandwich with lots of vegetarian options for the wife and daughter. There's an excellent brunch menu using just-egg which is a great "fake egg" alternative. I think this even makes the place great for vegans. That's truly rare for an Irish pub. Service was absolutely amazing, it was seat yourself but as soon as we sat down we had water and a server at our table. We happened to glance up at what our daughter was pointing at and the waiter came over immediately and if we need anything. Great service, fantastic food, rare Irish pub for vegetarians/vegans

We altered the mushroom special with half sausage. The three cheeses and the caramelized onions with balsamic made for a delicious pizza! The large pizza was so generous that we took leftovers home and enjoyed snacking on them for days. The waitstaff was great - checked in frequently and even teased us with humor when we requested a box to take home what we didn't finish. I really enjoyed the atmosphere- it truly felt like a neighborhood pub, and it was great to see the variety of ages of the patrons enjoying their meals. We will definitely return for another meal. My only suggestion is the beer selections should be clearer on the menu.

We just had a few ciders, and they were a dollar off. For food, I got the haddock platter that came with Old Bay potato chips and veggies. I really loved the fish and those chips, but I found the veggies to have more butter than I'm typically comfortable with. And to me it was just that, not necessarily seasoning to upgrade the flavor. Otherwise, the bar area can get a little tight during peak hours, and there are plenty of lower tables to sit at. Seems like the place can I get busy on any given day, but it's a vibe! Everybody is really nice. Parking can be a challenge I feel like (somehow I got the last spot)... If it fills up, the adjacent lot is adamant about the parking only being for the few restaurants there. And the street parking is going to be a gamble.

My interpretation of the gist of what everyone was complaining about was that they used to come here all the time (as did I years ago, but it's been a year since being here) and they didn't like the new, slimmed down menu... and they definitely hated the prices here now. Our service was ok, nothing special. I feel like the majority of the servers are very young and might not have the training, nor experience to understand what true service is, not just taking orders and bringing food. The menu was nice. We liked their "Everyday is Sunday" section of the menu, so we tried 2 orders (4 persons) of the pork chop tomahawk and 1 order (2 persons) of the Côte de Boeuf. We started with their Scotch Egg - WOW! Really flavorful with a great texture, inside and out. Definitely a very nice way to start. Cocktails and wine were a hit here for sure! Especially Jarad's G&T, which we got a couple of. Main dishes were great! Plenty of food too!! The spices on the crust of the porkchop tomahawk were so tasty and the temperature was spot-on! The steak in the Côte de Boeuf was incredible! Perfectly seasoned and at that absolute perfect temperature too! The carrots that came with this were very nicely done, but the potatoes stole the show! This dish came with OUTSTANDING Fondant potatoes... They had a great, smokey flavor to them, as if they were basted in pork fat. The meat was perfectly textured and flavored. Overall - While this is no longer the Hunter's Head that many came to know, love, and enjoy, I feel they're doing a decent job here. I'll definitely return, as I want to try their fish & chips!

Since we sat outside we had to go inside to place our order and then a server or someone that worked there would deliver our food. If it was a drink then they would make the drink on the spot. I think it was a bit confusing because when you sit down at a table outside you'd assume maybe someone would notice but that isn't the case. I think that's just something people should ahead on time. It may be the same case inside where you have tables to sit down at but no server to take your order, ect. Otherwise I didn't get much here other than fries and Guinness on Draft so I can at least review something food related.. Fries, crispy, there is a crunch in every bite, topped with parmesan cheese and parsley, it is pretty good for something to snack on. The Guinness on Draft is surprisingly extremely smooth and was very enjoyable; I would get it again! My friends got the poutine and I'd say after sampling it, it's great. I ended up biking and there's a bike stand really close by. My friend was craving fish and chips, so we ventured out this way. Because we came on a Thursday they had a deal going where if you ordered a pie, you could get a beer for free. Of course I had to partake, so I ordered the special pie, which was a masala, chicken, curry pie, and it was quite good. A bit small for the price point but with the beer included totally worth it also because their fries are so good. I could demolish over a pound of those fries. They were thick potato and maybe the extra added bonus of having to use a glass ketchup bottle added to it. My friend and I were also taught how to properly hit the ketchup bottle to get the ketchup out by the bartender. You find the 57 on the bottle at an angle and bump you palm there that instead of hitting the bottom and hoping and praying that ketchup comes out. It actually worked or at least it was more efficient than trying to hit the bottom of the bottle upside down. I had never had a hand pumped beer before, but it was quite good.
