We've always had a good experience here. Good food and drinks and reasonable prices. Very good service as well. We visit about once a year near the holidays since it's one of the best places in town. It's a much better menu and experience than that overrated overpriced chicken stuff. read more

I was really happy with the beer we tried at Frankenmuth Brewery! My boyfriend and I stopped in around 12:30 pm on a Saturday and the place was filling up quickly with the lunch crowd. We snagged a couple seats at the bar and ordered a flight with the hef, brown hound dunkel, Siamese goat dopplebock, and the rummelstiltskin porter. I'm not a huge beer drinker these days, but I actually liked every single one that we tried! My favorite was the brown hound dunkel, which was very smooth. All of the beers were balanced and tasted good to me! I was happily surprised. They also have wine which I didn't try but their labels all have their cute mascot Frankie on them. We didn't get any food but everything I saw looked great. They have some healthier options on the menu too. The building is huge and is very cool and historic. Apparently Frankenmuth Brewery is Michigan's first craft brewery and America's oldest microbrewery, which is pretty cool. Fantastic place to go! Whether you're looking for a light bite or a drink I highly recommend this be a place to pop into while you're in town. They have so many different beer options to try and take home a case if you like one. Their food is very tasty, my fiance and I stopped in today and had a burger and nachos and it was soo delicious! Food was good and staff was nice enough. We were seated in a room off the main dining room with amazing views of the river. However the was glitter from our servers beard on my and my sons plate. And my mother in law was placed right under an outdoor type heating unit and she was uncomfortable enough that we had to switch places and it was very hot. Our waitress was so nice and attentive. The spinach & artichoke dip and buffalo chicken eggroll appetizers were delicious. The chicken cordon bleu entree was also delicious. Visited Frankenmuth Brewery this afternoon with my family, for what should have been a nice meal. Unfortunately found some hair on the sandwich (regret not taking a pic as proof) I ordered. Pointed it out to server who apologized and said he'd let his manager know. I decided to order something else instead. After a long wait, whole table finished their food by then, food finally arrived. Waiter did again apologize but also said again he didn't know how it got there. Okay well I wasn't me, serves me no purpose since I wanted my meal and ordered another which ended up not being worth the wait at all. Server brought bill, I asked about the manager who never came by to check on us or apologize at all. I can excuse that things happen, it's human, but to not acknowledge a customer situation is unprofessional and speaks ill of the establishment. But it gets better at that point I was agitated, I didn't ask for discounts or for bill to be comped at all, basic customer service expectation that's it so...I asked to speak to the manager, who finally showed up in his Lions sweatshirt and ball cap and said , "yeah?" (WOW) When I proceeded to ask why he didn't bother to stop and at least apologize/acknowledge...his response? "We don't have anyone with hair like that". Im sorry, are you suggesting I put it there? Mgr - "I didn't say that" and walked away." Well, ummmm sounds like it. UNPROFESSIONAL INDEED. That manager couldn't have looked more bothered to be called over to us if his sweatshirt had "Piss Off" written in bold caps on it. Modern place with updated menu, if you are looking for somewhere to eat that isn't old-style German or Italian. Great selection of beers, but we ended up going home with a case of root beer. Started off with their sour, which was a 10oz pour for $7. It was okay, but I was kicking myself that I overlooked the Hot Rocket! It's a wheat beer with jalapeno! I love spicy drinks. I can't get enough. Ordered a large without a sample tasting and was not disappointed. Medium bodied, with a fresh green smell of jalapeno; almost like fresh cut grass or what you expect spring to smell like. On the palate, it was good but not hot right away. It was slow burn that kept building and then got to smoldering and stayed there. It was perfect!! Oh I would trek to Frankenmuth just for this darn beer! The food was okay. After the beer, I don't really remember it, but I do recall that everyone was pretty happy with their plates. OH! Crab cakes. They were good - real crab meat and generous portions. I thought that maybe even though this place didn't have good ratings, I mine as well give it a try. Boy did I regret it! I got the power bowl, and there was basically just lettuce. Barely any rice or chickpeas, no carrots, no Brussel sprouts, no tomato, and no kale. 4 out of 9 things were missing from my bowl. No one tried to do anything about it. Plenty of seating, definitely a brewery feel, different on tap local beers, small store up front selling 6packs and singles. Ordered pretzel as app, very large and very good. Ordered the Michigan Cherry salad, also excellent and loaded with Michigan dried cherries. Service was good although not that crowded. read more

We come to Frankenmuth a couple times a year and this has long been on our list of must do's. We won't be doing it again. Our initial wait was very short. Only 10 mins to be seated. Our waitress was very pleasant and took our order quickly. An hour and a half later the manager came over to tell us that our order was just starting to be cooked and that she would cut our bill by half. About 15 mins later our food arrived, cold and not correct. Wife ordered the pulled pork Mac and cheese and it came with nothing. Long story short, they comped our entire meal but we wasted the better part of the afternoon on lunch. The food wasn't terrible but not worth the prices listed. We come here every year and have for years. Normally, there is a wait to be seated and this year that was not the case. That should have been our first clue to go elsewhere. The positives are the beer, the french fries and the spicy mustard that comes with the pretzel. Also the mac and cheese was above average. As for the entrees, this is where we lose the stars. I had the butter chicken and the chicken was over cooked and the butter sauce was very salty. My wife ordered a burger and it too was over cooked. She called it bordering on a hockey puck. My daughter had the pulled pork sandwich of which she could not eat half of due to the fat/grisle in the meat. My son had the mac and cheese (lucky him). The service was average, not bad but not great either. All in all, we may give them another go based on previous visits or we may just try someplace new. If this was our first trip in, it would be our last. Let's hope this was just an off night and not the new normal. read more

Frankenmuth has ton's of food options here, and there is no shortage of finding something to eat and drink for just about everyone. I was in birch run anyways, but didn't like what they had for food offerings, so I wandered into Frankenmuth to see what they had. This brewery is quite big and kind of almost at the end of main street with limited parking. If you have a big car, do not park here in their lot! Park off site to make things easier when getting out. I was lucky to find a spot here in the lot, but it was a tight squeeze. Walking in, I loved the decor. Large, spacious and tons of seating available. I chose to sit at the bar since it was just me, and checked out their beer and food menu. They do 5 ounce flights here, which I considered, but passed on since I was to tired to drink and had a long drive home. I ordered their buffalo spring rolls off the appetizer menu, which were actually pretty good. They were spicy, but not so hot that I couldn't eat. Service was good, and I was continuously being checked in on. I now regret not ordering booze, but I know how my body is and I had to do a ton of driving, so that wouldn't have worked out well for me. I also love the fact that their beer/booze menu isn't a mile long. I hate when that happens because it makes the whole thing overwhelming. Server Jahmieli was disgusting. Never smiled, never talked to us. Seemed pissed off. Once we got our food she came to the table to say...and I quote, "sorry for being rude. I had to pee so bad and I finally got a chance to pee and feel so much better!" Wtf? We are eating! Don't tell us about how you needed and did pee! WHILE WE ARE EATING! Rude from the jump! Forgot our salads, never refilled waters, never brought ketchup. Just not a good server at all! I did contact the manager to which they did respond back asking what happened and offered gift cards to come back. When I responded back to them via email, they ghosted me. I have now emailed them three times and still no response. Looks like I know why their staff acts this way. If the managers can't even be professional, why would the servers. Brat was ok (from Willi's which I think is local butcher or some local brat/wurst place), not best brat I've ever had, on brioche which was nice, standard kraut and mustard was fine. Side salad was good, but they don't make any of their own dressings, at least according to our server. So that was a bummer. Fried pickles were pretty good, coating was thin and crunchy, dipping sauce had a little kick. Fried Oreos for dessert was fun. Best thing I had was the root beer on tap-excellent! I totally recommend trying this if you haven't. Would be awesome with ice cream in a float but wasn't on the menu. read more
