This is our go to spot. We come here every Wed and Sat. All the servers and managers are very friendly and professional. Erick, Pinky and Irelda are a few of the staff that we have requested. A few of the entrees we love are the enchiladas mexicanas, Priscilla's pasta (sub veggies for chicken), veggie tamales and the brunch dishes are amazing. The frozen margaritas are $3 from 11-7 and all day on Sunday and they are not too sweet. There are tons of Mexican places to eat but the atmosphere here tops them all. IMO, Pinky and the other staff members are the heart and soul of the place and we think of them as family. This place was GREAT! Ms. Jones and her ever handsome rock star husband cruised into this recently opened Frankie's on this dreary, drizzly day and both of us were very pleasantly surprised by the delicious food, excellent service and warm, inviting atmosphere. Ms. Jones had the veggie enchiladas with chipotle sauce with a side of delicious grilled jalapenos (Ms. Jones ALWAYS likes things muy caliente), while hubby had a very large burrito. In addition we started with queso and after our meal we finished with an absolutely mind-blowing combination of churros and mini-sopapillas ala mode. Obviously, this was not a day to mind our diets, but a day to enjoy some seriously decadent mexican food. Yum. Every single thing we tried today from the complimentary chips and salsa to the last bite of that incredible desert was tasty and fresh--not a bad bite to be had. Another pleasant surprise was the price. A three course meal for two along with a few beers and it was all for less than fifty dollars. How can you beat that? Oh, that's right you can't. I can honestly say I've never had food poisoning until I went to Frankie's. This made me a bit naive because I became convinced I had an iron stomach and could eat anything. So when my beef fajita tacos were served to me cold I thought, no worries I can eat anything and I'm not a complainer....bad move!! I went to bed about two hours after the meal and woke up to the start of the most miserable 3 days of my life! I most definitely will not be going back here. We often go in just for drinks, appetizers, and to share an order of the mini-sopapillas (addictive) - but every entree we've tried, including their big salads, was delicious as well. Frankies is our favorite Mexican restaurant so we were happy to see a new location in Richardson. The menu is the same as their Plano location, but the atmosphere is not as good. They did not give us tostaditas as an appetizer like the Plano location. We ordered the tostaditas as a meal, but they were not as good as the Plano location. Sopapillas were very small and served with ice cream. They were too chewy and no honey. :(. The food was good, just disappointing compared to the Plano location. read more

Really a great find, ask for a recommendation from any of the staff and they actually do have one. From the owner, manager to server will have you a plate of food that would be your favorite each time you visit. The beans and Rice are Fine...BUT DO NOT GET THE CHICKEN Enchiladas as the meat inside of them looks like a cat throwed it up. The meat is day old and is dark meat. You can taste the "OLD" in the meat. I was not happy at all. read more

Overall , A great Tex Mex and South American infused Restaurant for the everyday family who is arguing about choosing a restaurant. Their guest service experience is very acceptable, and the waiters check on their guests every ten minutes or so. I was never left with an empty tortilla chip basket or drink in my few times there. The waiters are prompt and very friendly. English may not be the first language for many of the waiters. it's a family run business (by the same people who own Amigos), but they are able to communicate enough. Their menu is big and their selection is wonderful with all types of great dishes. The wait is about 15-25 minutes for generally 4 or less people. Now the food experience...this is where I didn't give them 5 stars. The food is excellent. No doubt. But what I do not like is that they serve frozen seafood and other frozen products. I asked if the salmon was fresh and they said it was frozen. I still decided to try it. The salmon was actually quite good, but the fillet was not deboned properly. Not sure if that's a distributor issue or the restaurants, either way, their food preparation is not up to par with 5 star restaurants. The flavor is great however. Dishes are affordable and you'll be leaving this restaurant quite happy. read more

This was our first visit, and it was a good one. Ms Estefania our server was very helpful in recommending certain dishes and answering our questions. The complimentary chips and salsa arrived quickly, were warm and the salsa had a slight kick to it. We decided not to order an appetizer, and went straight for the main course. My wife a fajita fan ordered chicken fajitas with a mix of corn and flour tortillas. She said they were "ok." In her terms that means she would order something else next time. In questioning her further she said the fajitas just didn't have much flavor, but the accompanying rice was excellent. I saw on the chalkboard that they served menudo (and this Gringo loves Menudo) I tried to order it only to find it's a weekend item only, which is usually the case. Ms Estefania highly recommended the Caldo de Pollo which is served anytime. It's a big bowl of chicken broth based soup, with potatoes, zucchini, carrots, and several nice pieces of chicken. Its served with nice side of rice to be added if you choose, and a small portion of cilantro and diced onion. It was outstanding. The Thursday daily drink special $5 was Titos Vodka and homemade lemonade. I had one and the wife had water. Total Bill including tax $27.01. There's a nice front patio, even thou it faces Plano road and could be very noisy at certain times. We will certainly go again. read more
