    Taco Salad
    Courtney D.

The food was good and out quick. I appreciated that it tasted like traditional Tex Mex and that the taco salad was in a tortilla bowl and not pretending to be healthy with ample beans and taco meat. The staff were friendly, and I like their neon sign and cute interior.

This used to be my PLACE to go. I was quite a regular. The queso is just a no. For me, queso is a "make it or break it" item on the menu. The only way I can describe the queso is powdery... it's most definitely not real cheese... it's kind of a mystery cheese powder that has been mixed with water...? No flavor and gritty... I don't want to knock this establishment too hard because I LOVE the atmosphere and LOVE the service I receive. It's ALWAYS beyond exceptional. Please please PLEASE serve a quality queso!! I miss eating at your restaurant, but that's a dealbreaker.

cheese enchiladas without the sauce just more cheese on top 10/10 and the beans with chips 100/10

I would go 2.5 stars. The wife is adamant that it is a 2. I said a 3. So I split the difference. Positives: -the salsa is very flavorful and I liked it -the beef in the beef nachos is very well seasoned and delicious -the house frozen margaritas are very good, not at all a chemical taste -the beef taco was also very tasty and well-seasoned -the ambience is warm and friendly -service was good, no complaints Negatives: -the place needs a thorough cleaning, starting with the front door and going from there -the booster seat for the child was filthy. The wife wiped it down and the residue was pure black -the wife's flautas were soggy and greasy; the chicken was not seasoned and had no flavor -my chicken in the chicken enchilada had no flavor. Probably the same as in flats -the guacamole with the beef nachos was obviously old and had big black spots. It was a serving of guac that never should have come out of the kitchen. The fact that it was served reflects either indifference or unprofessionalism. -the small plates I asked for were dirty and had to be wiped clean by us To top it off, I had to listen to how our favorite Tex-Mex place is so much better in every way throughout the dinner. Step by step, item by item. The wife is right, of course, but Holy Frijoles could have been better which would have made my night a bit more enjoyable. This could be a hidden gem, but it needs to step it up to get to hidden gem status.

Having late lunch here with Wifey. I ordered Fajitas Marinadas (flank steak). My wife ordered carne asada. The corn chips are fresh and their salsa dip is good. The beef flank steak for my fajitas were sliced thin and comes with sautéed green peppers and onions. Beans, rice, pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole on the side. Their fajita marinadas is delicious! Their carne asada were sliced thin grilled and comes with rice and beans. Taste great. Well decorated Tex-Mex restaurant. Courteous serving staff. Clean and separate Men and Women's bathroom.

I was starving and scarfed it up. I like the ambiance and the service is fast today. Salsa n beans is good . I ordered shrimp enchiladas which is hard to find a good one. One with queso and the other ranchera. I recommend you add a little black bean that came with the chips it really kicks it up a notch ! Great music. I'll be back to sample a margarita and other items.

    Are there vegan options here?

I do not believe there are vegan choices other than plain salad. Call the restaurant. They are very polite

We had the deviled eggs and lump crab cakes to start, and both were SO good. Prices were great too. Our waitress, Staci (or Stacy), was AMAZING. Sweet, funny, great at banter, and incredibly attentive. Even when she was busy, she never made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. When she was at our table, we had her full attention, she checked on us the perfect amount, and we never had to ask for anything twice. She was on top of her game! My only complaint was a really awkward interaction at the end. I wanted to ask Staci two simple questions: whether they carried an olive gin I'd had in Europe (they didn't, but I haven't found it anywhere) and whether I could buy a roll of quarters because we were going to play pool. Somehow this turned into 5-6 staff members gathering around, plus this random blonde lady in a white T-shirt and jeans joining the conversation. Aside from Staci and the blonde lady, no one else even acknowledged me. They just stood there looking at me. It was weird. It felt like a lot of unnecessary attention over two simple questions and made me pretty uncomfortable. Having another customer involved was honestly the weirdest part. It was disappointing because we'd had such a great experience up until then. I went from thinking, "I need to bring my friends here!" to leaving feeling pretty unwelcome. Food: delicious. Atmosphere: beautiful. Prices: great. Staci: WONDERFUL. I just wish the interaction at the end had matched the rest of the experience.

The server was very nice and attentive! We all got a variety of dishes, but the ones in the pictures are: Chicken Pesto Panini, Concha French Toast, and Salmon Egg Benedict. The Chicken Pesto Panini was really good, I loved the bread since it was soft and moist, but I wished the chicken was a bit thicker/bigger. The Concha French Toast was delicious!! The strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries were so refreshing and sweet; the toast was perfectly made and the coconut condensed milk added a nice sweetness to it. The egg benedict dishes were great as well, I think that was one of everyone's favorites from them. My friends all got different dishes and they loved every single dish! The prices were pretty reasonable as well, averaging around $13-$25 overall for pretty big portions. I'm excited to come back and try other dishes next time :)

I got the Country Fried Steak and generally enjoyed it. Sausage gravy didn't really taste of sausage but was herby and flavorful. Eggs, hash browns cooked perfectly as requested. Some feedback from my other party members: - The chocolate milk barely tasted of chocolate and was almost $6 (not worth) - cinnamon roll pancakes were good but very very sweet - the smores french toast tasted mostly of chocolate and had Oreos (?) We were seated shortly after arriving. However, the table was poorly cleaned and used napkins was on the floor beneath the table seating area. I asked the hostess to have the area cleaned so that my family and I can sit down and enjoy our meal. We ordered corned beef hash skillet with pancakes, south border skillet, biscuits gravy with eggs and pancakes. The corned beef hash skillet gets a high mark. The south border skillet was average. The biscuits gravy with eggs and pancakes were cold and it gets a low mark. If we decide to eat at Honey Berry in the future, it will be the Frankford Rd location.
