I got some new tires installed at a place that doesn't offer a wheel alignment post tire installation. I came here after getting my tires installed and arrived around 4:15 PM. The shop closes at 5:30 PM and I thought that I may be cutting it a little close to have a wheel alignment done before they closed. I told Katelyn at the front desk what I needed, and she checked with the mechanics to see if they could fit me in. They said it would be no problem and had the alignment done within about 45 minutes. I also asked them to check my brakes to see if they needed to be replaced (the local Mazda dealership said they were all in the yellow), but Jeff (mechanic) said that I had at least another 10,000 miles on them. He could have told me that yeah, they were in the yellow, and given me a quote, but he was really honest and upfront with me about the situation. After having such a positive experience, I'll be taking my car to Franklin Car Care in the future for anything I need. Walked in for an ABS diagnostic, met John and his daughter Kaitlyn. I like to support mom and pop businesses so this was the right place for me. They were very helpful took me in right away. John showed me underneath my car and explained to me what he thought the problem could be. I appreciate that he was honest and made recommendations that saved me money. They couldn't have been nicer, explained the costs right away with a more economical option and explained why the most economical option might not be the best. I found this little garage by chance when I first moved to Tampa and couldn't feel more fortunate to have come across such an honest, genuine family-owned business that takes such great care of my car! They even have a cute little dog in the waiting room to keep me entertained while you wait. Caitlin works the front desk and phones and knows a ton about cars. Her dad is the owner and head mechanic. They are honest and upfront about what is truly needed for a vehicle, and what can be put off. People here are very knowledgeable, they made a quote for jist one tire and I decided to change all the tires since the price was songood that I could not let go this opportunity. Greatly recommend this mechanic! Went in for an alignment and a oil change but when they went to check my tires it turns out my 2 front tires were the problem not my alignment. He was honest and didn't talk to me like an idiot, which I appreciated since I know absolutely nothing about cars. He even found me 2 BRAND NEW tires for an amazing price within my budget I was in such amazement I almost wanted to cry especially with holidays right around the corner he really saved me with his great deals and kind hospitality. I've taken my car to this location a couple times now. I always feel I'm getting honest feedback on what is important and what can wait based on my budget. I have an older Honda accord and I know parts can be expensive. They are always straightforward with what is urgent and what can wait. Honestly, one of the most friendly and work oriented garages I have been to. I am from New Jersey and I drove all the way down here in my Jeep which had managed to blow an axle seal. I brought the Jeep in 8:15 in the morning shortly after opening and by around 4 my Jeep was done after almost 3 hours of labor and picking up the essential parts. They got the job done as quick as possible and I could not be anymore happy with my overall experience. If I was from the area I no doubt would go to this shop, due to the fact that not many shops are loyal around here and half a** the job and you are back in the shop the following week with something new that is wrong. Jeff was a great help and kept me up to date on my Jeep and even gave me a call to see if I wanted the second axle seal done due to the fact that it would cost more in labor in the future just to have one done. I had a good experience that brightened my day. My car tire light went on the other morning. I pulled over and found that my rear passenger side tire was flat. I googled to find the closest tire shop. Luckily Franklin Car Care was located only .4 miles away so I carefully drove over. I met Jeffery and he had a helpful positude attitude. He offered to immediately remove my flat tire and put on my donut. He diagnosed that there was a key lodged in my flat tire and determined that it was not repairable and he did not have a tire to sell me. He explained the recommendations for safely driving on my temporary tire until I was able to bring my car to an appropriate tire dealer. He was friendly, polite and knowledgeable. When I asked what I owed him for changing my tire, he said there was no charge at all and he wished me luck. What a pleasant surprise!! It is rare thing to encounter a giving attitude like Jeffery's these days. read more
