    Kitchen view!

I stayed at HRM with a group of friends and we were so well taken care of! The owners and house team are beyond friendly and accommodating. They made us feel at home right away. The views are spectacular and the rooms were so roomy and cozy. I loved the soaking tub, shower and fireplace in my room. I definitely want to come back and enjoy those views in the spring!

Truly an amazing place to stay if you're in town. All the rooms are charming. Lisa our host made it special for us and she's also a great cook! Thanks for a wonderful stay, can't wait to come back again.

My boyfriend and I had a beautiful weekend up at high ridge manor. The food was high quality and delicious. We enjoyed amazing sunset views from the hot tub and were greeted with such hospitality from the staff. The room was clean and well kept, and the beds were comfortable with the softest sheets. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a romantic get away in the beautiful wine country of Paso Robles.

It is disheartening for me to only award two stars to this establishment. Is this a B & B, an Airbnb, a business in search of an identity, or what? After reading the positive reviews on both yelp and tripadvisor I made a commitment to stay here for two nights. However, I hadn't realized that there is new ownership, and with that comes a change in operation, and one that is not consistent with the usual B & B experience. Also, most of the reviewers have a very short history submitting only a few reviews. This business doesn't know what it wants to be...it's a B & B, an Airbnb, an investment, rent for hire. We arrived late afternoon, and the property manager was there to greet us. This was a weird and poor reception. Not a hello, nor welcome, glad to see you...nothing. After settling in and unpacking, we had wine and cheese at 5pm with the property manager in the upstairs kitchen which was totally uninspiring. A few slices of two cheese, dry toasts with a tomato salsa, and the most basic, least expensive wine offering from a local winery (about $10/bottle). After a 22 minute ride to town (BTW, when I booked the room with the new owner, I had been advised it was a couple of miles and 5-10 minutes away!!!), we had dinner, and returned only to then realize the Wi-Fi was not functioning. The tv in our room was also not functioning. We had been all set to spend the evening in our room watching tv and emailing, etc, but no joy!!! The next morning I awoke to have to find the ingredients to make coffee. Nothing was prepared at 7:45, and no one was in sight. We ventured back up at 9am for the "full chef's breakfast". Another disappointment, as we were served muffins, a vegetable quiche, and coffee. I had to ask for juice, and ask for fruit which was then provided. The person attending to us was yet another hired staff member, which turned out to be the owner's son's girlfriend. We did not partake of the wine and cheese offering the second night (the 1st night was enough), and breakfast the 2nd day were crepes w preserves, muffins and a side of fruit. Coffee was prepared this morning and available for me at my requested 7am. Apparently the new owner doesn't actually live or operate hands-on at this facility, or if he does it's only part-time. Everything is by hired hands. The accommodation in the rooms are nice (thus the two stars and not one), and yet there is an absence of warmth or hospitality. An interesting side note...in all my years of travel, staying at all sorts of places (B & B's, Inn's, etc), I have NEVER seen a line item for gratuity for a guest to fill on the final bill. Is this the new norm, even for B & B's?

We had a delightful and well deserved getaway. The host was quite a character and created a delightful mood. Two people on staff took care of any needs. The views were exquisite. This is the quintessential definition of why you stay at a B&B over a hotel. We will be back.

My wife and I wanted to celebrate our one year anniversary at a bed and breakfast given we had never been to one. We were hesitant at first, but this place did not disappoint! The property was beautiful and well maintained, the rooms were spacious and comphy, the view was like every picture you'll find of wine country, and most of all, the hosts were great. Meridy, Shane, and Lane (owner) are exceptional hosts. We only stayed for one night but had an amazing time. Originally we were going to have dinner in town but after talking to Lane, we decided to stay in and have dinner with the other guests, which was amazing...wine, Steak, chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, spinach, and chocolate lava cake, with a twist! The next morning we continued the good times over breakfast: fluffy Japanese pancakes & juicy pork roast (because you can get bacon anywhere) Can't wait to go back with friends and family.

I called to make a reservation and spoke to the owner, Lisa. She was so warm, accommodating, and helpful-when I hung up the phone, I said I could be friends with that gal. When my husband and I arrived we were greeted by the friendliest, most beautiful, Great Pyranese brother and sister duo, Auggie & Gigi. Then, we met Lisa. She was so welcoming to us and so beautiful inside and out. She explained everything to us, showed us our spectacular room, Adelaide, that was full of upscale amenities. The entire room and bath area was amazing. The grand fireplace, the bathtub for two, the linens on the bed, the fabulous bottle of wine-I could go on. Even the coffee was from a local, organic coffee maker. Now let's get to the three-course breakfast we were served everyday of our four-day stay. We felt like we were at a three-star Michelin restaurant that included incredible homemade juices by Lisa. Each course was so presented so elegantly, but also in an atmosphere that made you feel right at home. Of course we went wine tasting. Lisa and Rob (Lisa's husband and co-owner) recommended wonderful wineries that we went to, and we were very pleased. Everywhere we went I had to tell them where we were staying and how beautiful and relaxing the B&B was. Back on our first morning there, Rob had taken us for a tour of the farm where we saw the game room, wedding area, the vineyard, and my favorite-the beautiful highlander cattle. Such an experience-no wonder Lisa and Rob are so happy there. Also, an honorable mention goes out to Little Girl, their precious kitty. We will definitely be back and have told all of our friends about this heaven on earth B&B. Thank you, Lisa and Rob, for making my birthday a wonderful memory!

Kindred Oak Farm was absolutely memorable and I'd recommend this special place to anyone looking for a luxurious yet cozy getaway.

The owner is very down to earth and friendly. She has a lot of her art and personal touches around the place, both in the guest house and around the yard. I think the best thing about this place is how quiet and peaceful the location is. If you're trying to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, this will no doubt sate that. I heard maybe one or two cars, at most, during our stay. And the view? Amazing in all directions! The amenities themselves are beyond anything we expected. Keurig? Check! Board Games? Yup, those too. DVDs/movies? Yup! Miscellaneous books?! Covered! Food wise, there's a lot to work with in the room. Almost something for everyone. And there's a few places that do delivery to the location (one was Chinese and the other a pizza place). Wine, beer, snacks, cereal, etc. Amie was nice and gave us a few hard boiled eggs from her chickens on the property. Don't think you can get more organic than that. She also baked us some Pumpkin Pecan Raisin Cinnamon rolls as well. We couldn't have asked for a better first impression and experience. This is definitely above and beyond anything we expected. On a final note, to help address the concerns in the negative reviews posted here, our host kept in touch with us, via email, the entire time up to our visit.

In addition to the $750 event fee, she requires that both suites be rented for a minimum of THREE nights (almost $2000). This not only is an exorbitant rate, but seems absurd considering we would only need the space for one evening. Still, I was willing to consider it as a retreat for the bride-to-be. The owner also stated that she would need to have final approval over our caterer, which struck me as utterly bizarre. When I inquired about viewing the property physically, she did not respond for nearly a week and I had to contact her again before receiving an answer. We set up an appointment, only to be informed that she would be away, but she would "leave a list" with her husband if we had any questions. The day before our appointment, she emailed to say they had people checking in early and that we either needed to reschedule or we could still come, but we would only be able to view the outside of the property. Considering the price point, I opted to reschedule. Then two days before our second scheduled appointment, I received an email from her with a "heads up" that she and her husband both had to be in SLO BY NOON, so please be on time for our appointment - our 11AM appointment that she had already rescheduled once and was now going to be rushing through so they could get off to SLO. I found the insinuation that I would not be punctual quite insulting. At this point, I determined that as pretty as the setting looks in their ads, continuing to deal with the owner was not worth the hassle. My advice to others is to look elsewhere, as I am doing. There are lots of wonderful venues in and around Paso that are operated by much more pleasant and reliable individuals.

Though I will say for me personally the pillows were really uncomfortable, and they had a rough spun duvet which smelled musty on the inside like it hadn't been washed in quite awhile. It looked and smelled like they were washing the sheets and the blanket but not the duvet itself.
