Once again, the folks at Franklin showed why they have such loyal customers, including me. I showed up at the end of the day with a dead battery. They were very busy. It would have been easy to tell me they were full and that I'd need to come back tomorrow. Instead, David listened to my story, took the keys and went to check it out. The battery tested fine, of course. He could have left it at that and sent me on my way. Instead, he looked around the battery and noticed what seemed to be a loose connection. As he thought about it, he noticed the battery was a bit askew. He came back in to tell me what was wrong and that he had ordered the replacement part to secure the battery and fix the connection. 20 minutes later, he handed me my keys, refusing to charge me a dime, and told me to have a good day. As I stood there incredulously, he said he thought they should have noticed it at my last visit, 2 months ago. Of course they should not have. It probably wasn't loose then. However, it is self effacing, compassionate and detailed service that sets Franklin apart from most businesses. It is why I tell everyone about them. Came here at 8am, 30 minutes after they were open to drop off our van. They told us it shouldn't be long all we wanted was an oil change and for them to check the front not fix anything or replace any parts just check it out. They said they'd call us in a couple of hours. It was 4 when I called because they close at 5:30 and I didn't have an update he said that he didn't know what was going on put me on hold for a couple of minutes and came back on to say they hadn't looked at it. We travel for work and are leaving the following day... we came here because they said it wouldn't be long. I asked if they would have it ready by the end of the day and they said possibly by the next. So we came back to pick up the van and let them know that we would've appreciated that communication beforehand, additionally there was one car in the garage not being touched... 4 people were working on putting on one tire while 4 more people we're sitting down inside. I asked the girl inside if we could have our keys and she said that they already looked at it. I told her we just called and they told us that they didn't do anything and our car is in the same spot we left it. She said "oh yea we haven't touched it don't you see we are busy" all in all I would've appreciated better communication, a more efficient job and better customer service. Wouldn't recommend coming here if you actually want the job done. read more

Took my car there because it was stalling on the freeway. They said the high-pressure fuel pump had to be replaced. The total cost, including the diagnostic, parts, and labor was around $900! A couple months after the new fuel pump was installed, the car began to stall on the freeway again. I took the car back, hoping the repairs would be under warranty, and they said a different part needed to be replaced - this time it was the low-pressure fuel pump, so I needed pay for a new part. I also needed my A/C fixed. A couple weeks after the second round of repairs, the A/C stopped working and I found out I need a new compressor. The mechanics at Franklin Auto are either incompetent or scamming customers. Avoid this repair shop! read more

After a long morning of loading all of our belongings into a truck in the rain, my husband and I took off for Mobile from Atlanta to beat the movers to our new place. We were caravaning with both of our cars, when I heard a loud noise and realized my tire was flat. So there we were, stuck on the side of 85S in Auburn, with a flat tire and it was pouring rain. My husband was able to drive to the next exit and pick up some fix-a-flat, which got me back on the road for a few minutes. While I was waiting, I called Franklin to see if they had my tire size in stock. I knew that both rear tires really needed to be replaced anyway. They were so nice on the phone, and said yes they could switch out the tires and have me back on the road the same afternoon. My car luckily made it to Franklin, just a few miles away. They immediately started work on my car, and gave us a great deal since they only had the higher priced tires in stock. I was so happy with the service! They had us back on the road in under an hour. They really saved my day. read more

This is an unreliable repair shop. On September 15, 2018, my car's engine yellow light came on, and I saw a four-star rating and drove over for repairs. The store told me that the CATALYTIC CONVERTER was broken and needed to be replaced, and that it cost more than $1,200 for inspection, parts and labor. I followed their advice and the store promised me a one-year warranty on the same issue. I drive my car for 40 days, 2,800 miles, and the same problem comes up again, and I come to this auto repair shop again, and they don't do quality assurance. The explanation they gave was the same problem as the other parts problem, and I had to pay more than $1,000 again. My car is now worth $10,000 and they want me to spend more than $2,200 on the same problem. I'll never go to this store again. It's a fraud! read more

I started using Franklin when I was 18 they have the best employees at the front desk, however I took my Volkswagen Jetta to them twice and the oil bolt came out both times. The last time my engine made a grinding noise I called and explained they towed it back to the shop and fixed it. My car ran rough afterwards and they said it had something to do with the valve and it got worst and worst and ended up having to sale the car because the damage was too costly and purchased a new one. I will not be going back, I gave them ample amount of times to make it right but they did not do so. read more

This repair shop clearly understands the concept of repeat customers. I've never felt cheated and have always been happy with the repairs made to my vehicle. They give you the bottom line without trying to convince you to make several unneeded repairs. I have a daughter who is a student at Auburn and we live out of state. Knowing her car is being taken care of is extremely important, as any parent would tell you. We first went to Franklin on the recommendation of someone who lives locally. That was 3 years ago and we've never had a reason to go anywhere else. No matter what she needs (and we've run the gamut) they are responsive, polite, fast and reasonably priced. They often check fluids/tires for free just to make sure she's ok before she gets on the road. I just don't know how else to put it - THEY'RE GREAT!!! read more

They did a pre-purchase inspection on a used car (which I had set up for a friend), and were thorough, fast, and half their estimated cost (which was already fairly reasonable).
