Tried arranging a repair eith Safelite in the Phoenix area, but no appointments were available. Easily made an appointment for Monday morning. Was impressed how much this location kept reminding me of my appointment. Arrived a few minutes early. Wendy greeted me and wslked me to my car to examine the crack. I dud send them a picture ahead of time, but they need to make sure it hadn't grown. I was there less than 30 minutes and tge crack was repaired. Oh no!…read more Contacting several glass shops on Yelp led me to JD Auto Glass, who gave me the best estimate and offered to come to my home to fix it the next day. David showed up on time, but knew at a glance that he wouldn't be able to fix the crack cleanly, as someone had already tried to do so, but had botched the job. Instead of trying to fake it, or upsell me on an immediate replacement of the whole windshield, he advised that, since it was small and out of the driver's line of sight, I should just wait to see if it got worse before taking further action. He then left without charging anything and later sent a quote for a full windshield replacement, should it become necessary. That kind of integrity goes a long way with me, so JD Auto Glass will be my first call when and if I do need that new windshield.

Sure enough, there was a chip in the windshield. I immediately started looking for a repair shop and after some outrageous quotes I ended up here. I had an appointment and since it was a just a small chip (no cracking or other damage) the repair was quick (less than 30 minutes) and the charge was small ($89). I had been quoted over $200 from Safelite so I was happy to pay under $100 for the repair. They guarantee their work so if it should crack later they will apply the payment I just made to any future repairs. The only strange part of the visit was when I first entered the shop. There is a glass window when you come in but there is no one there. There are however several desks along the back wall. One of the ladies asked me how she could help. I told her I had an appointment and gave her my name. A few seconds later a man started asking me questions - I didn't realize that he was speaking to me because really it's just faceless voices calling out across the office. He was very nice once he took over. He checked the car, told me the price and told me it would be about 30 minutes. The technician who fixed the window is the one who signed me out. It was all very easy and while the staff wasn't unfriendly, the check-in process could be better if the person greeting was actually in front of you as they were talking.
