Frank's Deli has delicious sandwiches and truly divine soups--the food itself is worth coming back for. It's a simple spot, nothing fancy, but the flavors shine. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by poor customer service. The lady who took my order was rushed, not welcoming, and didn't take the time to connect with customers. A little warmth and friendliness would go a long way in making this place as wonderful as the food it serves. With better customer care, this deli could easily be a top favorite in Crested Butte. read more

Best sandwich place in CB. We came to grab sandwiches on a Fri before a hike. It was a great move. All of us got to the summit of Green Lake and commented on how we all loved our sandwiches. Two of us had the Red Lady ($14) and one had the Buzzwich ($12) along with another with a BYO. No complaints! (which is not easy). We loved them so much....we came back again on Monday (since they were closed on Sun)! read more

We visited CB for the fourth and wanted a quick lunch on our way out of town. A few of our first options were closed so we went to Frank's and I'm happy we did! The service was slow but if you have time, they make great sandwiches. I ordered a vegetarian sandwich that was tasty and great for a road trip. The interior was small and we waited outside as it was crowded and we could tell there would be a wait. It's conveniently located as you enter/leave town and near the grocery store. read more

My family and I stopped in charming town of Crested Butte to hike among the wildflowers last week and stopped by Frank's due to great Yelp reviews...it did not disappoint. Loved my custom made turkey sandwich (amazing flavor), and they even were kind enough to make my daughter a specially made PB&J sandwich not offered on menu. She's very picky but agreed that her sandwich was so good! Thank you to the welcoming gentlemen in the store. I couldn't stop thinking about my mouthwatering sandwich and walnut cookie throughout my Colorado trip. Please please consider adding a store here in Texas!! Killer sandwiches! No wonder there was a line. I had the Italian on a roll (it has a fun name I don't remember); perfect balance of ingredients, dressing, etc. one of the best Italian meat sandwiches I've ever enjoyed. I was looking for takeout for lunch and found this deli within easy walking distance from where we staying. There is a nice selection of made to order sandwiches, soup and salads though the latter was premade from what I could see. I opted for the Fourteener (lettuce, tomato, bacon jam, thick sliced turkey, and avocado) on sourdough bread. We thought it was delicious and will be including Fred's Deli on next trip. This is my favorite lunch spot in CB. Especially while working up here, they have options that are actually affordable and delicious. You can get half a sandwich and a cup of soup for $9, it's the only lunch under $10 (really under $15 even) that I've found in town. The Hungarian mushroom soup is so tasty and their sandwich toppings are fresh. They also have things like spicy sweet pickles and roasted red peppers to add a little kick. Even if you've got an extra buck to spend, I suggest checking it out. read more

For starters, this place smells so much like seafood I momentarily thought I was at the fish market in Seattle. Seafood was placed uncovered next to red meat so cross contamination going on. During my recent visit to Crested Butte I stopped in Frank's Deli. First of all, they have taken appropriate steps to feel safe during covid. Second of all, I wanted one of everything in the case!!! I got a variety of items. A croissant that was so light and flaky... omg... my mouth is watering at the memory. Paradise Salad that was incredible. Now I'm drooling! A yummy layered dessert bar! I guess after a day of travel I was carb'ing out!!! During our stay, we went back and had the Red Lady sandwich and the mashed potatoes and meatloaf. It was like homemade. Not an exaggeration! The morning we left, we swung by for one last croissant. Before we were out of town, it was gone and I was covered in light flakes from the pillow of buttery perfection. My only regret is that I didn't get to try more of there array of main dishes, salads, dips and desserts. Sigh... Parting is such sweet sorrow. read more

I'm an RSC Trip Leader who brought 53 skiers to Crested Butte for the week of 1/28 to 2/4. Had planned a group lunch for sandwiches and salads from Mikey's Pizza on 2/2, called them 1/27 to confirm this along with a welcome pizza party on 1/28. They were a no show/no reply for both events and last minute! First day in Crested Butte ever and I asked everyone I could where to get a carrot cake for my sons birthday the next day - short of driving to gunnison. Finally the doughnut shop steered me to Frank's deli ! They have a carrot cake in the case - you can buy by the slice - I ordered a small cake $35- decorated - 24 hour lead time. And it was delicious - my son who's 36, so he's eaten a lot of my carrot cake, said as good as my homemade. My husband said he like the frosting on the cake better than my homemade - and he hardly ever likes frosting. So if I lived in Crested Butte - I'd quit making my own carrot cake - lol! PS I got a sandwich and kale salad when I was there and I liked them too - tho' I do prefer my kale salad recipe better - theirs was on the sweet side and I prefer a tart dressing. read more

when we came into town for vacation, we stopped in briefly to see what their options were. we were astonished by how FABULOUS their choices looked in the glass case. so we made it a point to stop by for lunch one day. while there, we experienced a long wait and disorganization amongst the staff as people flooded in for large orders. this caused us to wait long in between our individual meals. although we were disappointed by this, we were very satisfied with the taste of the food! read more
