We are club members there and I have never had a bad meal But today, I was so disappointed in my experience We arrived at 4:56 for a 5 PM reservation The doors were open. The tables were set, and I walked up to the hostess and let her know we had arrived.. She advised me that we were early and that she would ask the waiter if it was OK to seat us early. (EARLY !???? 4 minutes!????) Ok - I thought this was strange, but kept my mouth shut and was seated after she came back and told us the waiter would serve us, even though we were early We let them know we were club members and as a member of the club, you pay $50 a month and your first visit each month you get a complementary bottle of House wine. So I asked what the house Chardonnay was and ordered a bottle.. When we ordered our meals, I ordered the risotto with peas and shrimp, but asked if I could substitute the shrimp for scallops. This is not the first time I have done this, in the past the Manager had recommended this to me as a good substitution since I don't like shrimp.. The waiter took our order and left and then came back and informed me that shrimp is less expensive than scallops and so there would be an up charge of $11 And so I asked, so what you're saying is I'm going to pay the $25.95 for the risotto and another $11 for scallops? And he said yes. OK whatever they've never charged me before but that is fine. Our meals came and I got three scallops, each smaller than the size of a quarter. Really!!???? instead of giving me 7 to 10 shrimp you are giving me three tiny scallops and charging me $11 extra.??!! But it was my anniversary and I didn't wanna ruin the evening so, OK fine. We eat our meals and we're ready to check out when the waiter came with our ticket and the bottle of wine was being charged with a 30% discount. I explained that as club members our bottle of wine should be free, and he said he had called the owner and the owner said / no it's only 30% off. And so I asked for the Manager. The manager said he also spoke with the owner and the bottle was supposed to be 30% off. So I brought up their website and showed them their own offering that if you are a club member you pay $50 a month to be a club member and the reward is that you get a free bottle of House wine every month. When you click on "learn more "it restates it again that every month you get one free bottle of House wine with your first visit. It is August 4, this is my first visit this month!! After much to do, the manager adjusted my ticket and I paid and we left. It wasn't until I got to my car that I realized that when I clicked on 20% tip, it calculated that automatically as $35 But my bill was only $120 So I got cheated on that too!!! I have never been so disappointed, this has always been an excellent restaurant with excellent food and somewhere that I always take people when they come to visit us. I felt very cheated and miss handled today.. what a disappointment! I never even got an apology from the manager after he realized the mistake. We sat outside and even though it was a very hot day, the temperature was very comfortable under the roofed area. The Pinot Grigio was excellent! Our meal was brought out in a timely manner and Grace was an attentive server. The Caesar dressing is perfection! The diavolo sauce was delicious and just-right spicy. We loved the meatballs and the fettuccine was cooked perfectly. The pizza!!!!! Wow. Just the right amount of crisp in the crust and the toppings were a delicious combination of flavors. The focaccia with marinara could have been a meal for me. The bread was hot and crispy while also being soft and savory. I couldn't get enough of the marinara.
