Best Italian restaurant on island!!! Got the garlic olio chicken. My gosh was it so ONO!!! The…read morechicken pieces are great sizes with the skin fried to perfection. Plus the garlic chunks mixed with linguine pasta and olio sauce is pure perfection. I'd come back over and over and over to get this dish again and again and again. Be sure to add a lot of parmesan cheese when the offer heehee. My parents and grandma got the veal linguine, veal on sauteed vegetables, and crab cakes which were crispy on the outside but soft and flavorful on the inside and the sauce paired super well with it. The veal dishes were solid too but nothing compared to my garlic olio chicken dish. It's a nice atmosphere that fits a nice dinner out vibe. Perfect for anniversaries, family dinner celebrations, or even if friends want to dress up and eat out. Service was great too. Definitely would come back and would recommend to friends. 5 stars!

I've been to this restaurant a dozen times in the past and have always had a decent experience. I…read moretook my family and mother-in-law on December 30th, however, and it was pretty miserable. Among the issues we encountered: * For two of the items we ordered off the menu, the server came back to our table to explain that the kitchen was "too busy" and as a result these items were not available. Neither was a complicated dish, they were simple appetizers. I've never heard this excuse at any restaurant before. What was especially annoying was that these were the two items ordered by my kids, both of whom are picky eaters on top of dietary restrictions, and therefore had limited options to begin with. * The menu says that substitutions are possible for a $3 charge. For a restaurant this expensive that's a little obnoxious, but fine, I was happy to pay it. Here again, we were told that the kitchen was "too busy" so they couldn't do any substitutions. That included the ridiculously simple request of putting a steak's sauce on the side rather than on top of the steak. I'm paying $55 for a 12-ounce steak and wanted to pay an additional $3 so that they didn't smother it in a sauce that my kid couldn't eat, but that was too much to ask, apparently. I ordered a steak for myself and asked if I could substitute a different vegetable, but this request got the same response: "too busy". I was even willing to pay the full cost of that vegetable as a side dish, but they were unwilling to accommodate. * When our steaks did arrive, my son's was literally almost raw. (In fairness, mine was a perfect medium rare.) I like rare steaks but this was ordered medium rare and was not even warm all the way through. It probably would be considered "blue rare" by standard definitions. * My wife paid $32 for the "scallops and shrimp" entree. It came with 3 scallops and 2 shrimp. Seriously? How is that a meal, much less a $32 meal? * We ordered three drinks (two glasses of wine and one cocktail). After 20 minutes of waiting, none had arrived. We needed to go up to the bar to order them there instead. * I very politely asked to speak to a manager so that I could explain our experience. I have restaurant industry experience and figured they needed to know about all of this. I was promised that a manager would call me within 2-3 days. It has been 6 weeks and I have not received a call. Needless to say, I'm not holding my breath. I won't ever be going back to Assaggio.

We ended up here as a fallback plan after the wait at Haleiwa Joe's got too long. Overall, this was…read morea pretty mediocre dining experience, but the biggest issue -- and the reason we would not recommend this restaurant -- was food safety. The restaurant itself is very small and, honestly, felt poorly managed on the Sunday night we visited. It appeared the manager had staffed the place almost entirely with high school-aged kids. To be fair, they were all polite and friendly, but they clearly were not trained professional waitstaff. The hostess in particular seemed completely overwhelmed and unsure of what she was doing. The food itself was average at best for the price point. Ambiance was okay, nothing particularly memorable one way or the other. We probably would have left thinking "meh, it was fine" except for one major problem. My wife ordered the seafood spaghetti, and the New Zealand mussels in the dish were BAD. Not "a little fishy" bad -- genuinely spoiled bad. The smell and taste were immediately obvious. We brought it to the manager's attention, and her response honestly shocked me more than the mussels themselves. She casually explained that sometimes they get "bad batches of mussels and you can't tell," as if serving spoiled mussels is just an unavoidable normal occurrence. That is not an acceptable answer from a restaurant serving seafood. To their credit, they did remove the dish from the bill, which was the minimum they should have done. Unfortunately, later that night my wife ended up vomiting after dinner. Thankfully it was not severe enough to ruin our vacation or require medical attention, but it absolutely confirmed our concern that something was wrong with the food. At the end of the day, average food and mediocre service are one thing. Serving spoiled shellfish and responding to the complaint with a shrug is another. We would not return.

We ordered the Repetti pizza and fettuccine with diavolo sauce and meatballs. We also had the Caesar salad and focaccia bread with marinara sauce. Our server was Grace. Grace was so friendly and knowledgeable and professional. In addition to the food, Grace made the dining experience exceptional. We sat outside and even though it was a very hot day, the temperature was very comfortable under the roofed area. The Pinot Grigio was excellent! Our meal was brought out in a timely manner and Grace was an attentive server. The Caesar dressing is perfection! The diavolo sauce was delicious and just-right spicy. We loved the meatballs and the fettuccine was cooked perfectly. The pizza!!!!! Wow. Just the right amount of crisp in the crust and the toppings were a delicious combination of flavors. The focaccia with marinara could have been a meal for me. The bread was hot and crispy while also being soft and savory. I couldn't get enough of the marinara. We had a lot of leftovers and ate some for dinner and still have more for tomorrow. Repetti's will be a new place for us to dine and bring friends as often as possible. We were so impressed and could not have wanted any of the experience to be different. Fantastic in every way!

My brother ordered the spaghetti and meatball while my sister ordered the chicken saltimbocca. It all looks delicious. My wife got the shrimp scampi and I got the clams casino and seafood combo. I didn't see the clams casino offered as a appetizer so I just went ahead and ordered it with pasta. We also got the garlic cheese bread. That's always good. ALL the entrees are loaded. I mean they really gave a lot. Lots of leftovers to take home. My Seafood Combo consisted of fresh and chopped clams, sautéed shrimp, and calamari cooked in garlic butter. The clam casino featured Fresh clams, onions, bacon, garlic, and mushrooms cooked with white wine butter sauce. This meal was meant to be tried and shared. Both of my meals were delicious and lots of leftovers. Really good timing since the restaurant wasn't full and Linda was very attentive and friendly. Give them a try if you like Italian food and lots of it or just enjoy the leftovers. Oh yeah I almost forgot. We also got dessert. I heard about their cheesecake so we ordered both the kahlua cheesecake and the lilikoi cheesecake. Both were yummy.

I ate the chicken because my son refuses to eat protein ). The Alfredo sauce was absolutely delicious. It tasted homemade and fresh, like someone actually made it from scratch instead of opening a jar. It was creamy without being overly heavy and had such a rich, authentic flavor. What really made our visit stand out, though, was the service. I wish I could remember our cashier's/server's name because she deserves a shoutout. My son and I both have food allergies, so before ordering we needed to make sure everything was safe for us to eat. She was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and happy to answer all of our questions. She also helped me figure out which pasta would be the best choice for my picky 7-year-old and even arranged for the grilled chicken to be served on the side instead of mixed into the pasta. That small accommodation made all the difference since my son wouldn't have touched it otherwise. The portion size was perfect for sharing between the two of us, and we both left happy (which is saying a lot when dining with a picky eater!). Between the fresh, flavorful food and the exceptional customer service, this was a wonderful experience. It's always refreshing to find a place that not only serves great food but also takes the time to make families with dietary restrictions feel comfortable and cared for. We'll definitely be back!

Since then it's changed ownership. Bottom line... Now? We'll def be back! Food = Delicious Server = Great Ambiance = Artsy vibe, good music & kickback. Started with the escargot special & calamari. Was afraid I would be disappointed on the calamari because Buzzes style has always been my fav. Must say, completely different but really quite good in its own right. Love the spicy! Was thinking the escargot would be waaaay too garlicky & salty like some I've had but it was pretty perfect. Both winners! Ditto on the mains. My filet and husbands steak were cooked to THE perfect med-rare. Daughter raved about her rigatoni sausage pasta, like more than once. I ordered a glass of Meiomi Pinot - was pleasantly surprised on the solid pour, not a little dinky one like some places do. Husband had a sip and decided he wanted one too. It paired perfect with our steaks. Yup, we'll be back when husband is off on another Saturday night and we'll come a little later to catch the live music! Wish I woulda captured more photos!
