Mushroom and spinach omelette with hash browns.
    Deron L.

I'm back Frank's and wow! It's everything you want a diner to be: Fantastic service; Pleasant atmosphere; Delicious and quickly prepared food; and it's super Clean. I had the spinach and mushroom omelette with hash browns and toast. First of all, it literally came out 5 minutes after I ordered it. It also came with a salsa on the side that was sooo good. Everything was exactly what I hoped it would be. If you're like me you can become a little fatigued by all of the "trending" eateries. Nothing against them, but sometimes you just need a dose of straight-forward, no-frills deliciousness and service which is exactly what Frank's provides. I can't recommend enough!

Franks signature breakfast with fried fish grits and biscuits.

Large large portions at a very reasonable price. A late Tuesday breakfast was still crowded, and it maintained that way as the hour turned into lunch. It has a classic diner atmosphere although the bar counter area isn't very large so there are not much seating there. Staff is very friendly, efficient, and attentive. Ordered the Frank's signature breakfast with fish and was shocked to get two large fillets. I ate everything but had to additionally season the food, especially the grits. Luckily, there was a large bottle of hot sauce at the table.

Delicious breakfast, decent wait time. I did witness the cook texting on his phone with the same gloves he was cooking and picking up pancakes with but other than that everything was fine. It's a diner type of place and a Houston staple.

Good fast service, casual ambiance and good home style food. Good coffee. Clean establishment. Hadn't been here in a while but it's still the same. Reasonable prices. Hole in the wall that's been here forever. I do recommend trying them out.

It's old...who cares. Was clean and the waitstaff was attentive. Food was exactly what it's supposed to be. Not the best sweet tea tho. It was perfect, exactly what we expected and wanted. Thanks Frank! We will be back.

The food is absolutely delicious, the service is alright. This looks very tasty and it big I would definitely come here for my morning breakfast these wing are goood.

    Only missing waffle lol

I really liked this place, from the service, to the open grill where you can watch the food getting prepared, and the chicken wings were crispy and big. Hash browns were the bomb. I think the waffle was good but the texture was a little mushy, not sure if it was undercooked or just the way the batter is. Anyway, definitely would return if in Houston again.

A friend visiting from out of town is really into diners. During his stay, I chose the vegan option of hash browns and black coffee most days. Meanwhile, my friend explored the entire menu and had no complaints about anything. Even when the diner was busy, the service was fast and friendly; my coffee cup was never empty. It was the kind of diner experience you would expect, reminiscent of visits with your grandparents--done right.

France would be sad this is supposed to be French toast

Server was fantastic the food was terrible I ordered crispy hash browns and I got barely cooked hash browns. Floor manager came by and said oh we're too busy to make them crispy. The bacon tasted good but it looked like it was cooked 3 days ahead they don't have real butter it's just oil on the grits everything was bad. The French toast was completely floppy and soggy

Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Ambiance- Clean. You're not going for the esthetic...you're going for the food down home breakfast. This place is always consistent. The only thing they need to work on is their sweet tea. They're fried and grill pork chops, chicken wings, cheese eggs, hasbrowns and French toast are EVERYTHING. If your grandma can cook well...just imagine if your grandma's cooking and Waffle House had a baby, it would be called Frank's Grill

I've actually done UberEats from this place many times for my wife that works down the street, and she always has great things to say about their food. So, down the road the other day and decided to come try their lunch menu. As soon as I saw chicken & waffles, you know I had to give them a try. The waffle was pretty amazing which is what my wife usually says about it, and the chicken wings looked great and had a good taste, but they were VERY chewy and i had to literally pull on the "meat" to eat them. I figured it was just a rush day for them so I didn't say anything and just ate my lunch, but literally an hour later, my stomach was in knots! I'll give them a pass because my wife loves their breakfast, but they should really make sure stuff is actually cooked before getting it out of the kitchen.

Eggs were ok, not great but not bad. The bacon was horrible, gritty and tasted bad. Place is kind of scary on the inside.

In the past they would bring out a bread basket, as a free appetizer like how some mexican restaurants bring out chips and salsa, however, they dont seem to do that here anymore. Service at the table was mediocre, our waitress took our drink order and on the way over, the waitress was spilling the drinks over the floor on the way to our table. After our waitress took our order, my gf did not get the mayo on the side as she had asked, and after we received our food, our waitress never came around to check on us, didn't refill our drinks or anything. The place was very loud, louder than visiting waffle house. I was trying to have a conversation with my gf sitting just across the table from one another, and we were having to literally yell at one another just to hear what each other were saying. My gf did state that the sandwich she ordered was a big sandwich, and was more than she could finish. Once we were ready to go, our waitress still hadn't been around to check on us. So I had to flag down someone else, to get us some to go boxes, and our check. Low and behold, when I was ready to checkout, the waitress appears out of nowhere, after all this time, I'm guessing because she thought she was going to get a good tip. I'm sorry, waitstaff only get a great tip from me, once and if they perform a great job duty, and this was not the case in this matter. Maybe, better luck next time, maybe Papas needs to hire better waitstaff worth hiring and keeping.

My daughter had the sampler platter with eggs, bacon, sausage, a biscuit, and grits. She loved everything on her plate (especially the biscuit!) but was very underwhelmed by the grits. I had them too and they were pretty bland and needed to be a little less thick. That said, the portion sizes are nice! One meal was plenty to split for my 2 kids. My husband and I split the Katfish and grits along with the red velvet waffles and chicken wings. The catfish tasted great, though it got a little soggy from everything else on the plate. The red velvet waffles were delicious, rich, flavorful, and a hit with my husband and I (and then my girls who were eyeballing my plate.) The chicken wings that came with them were crispy, seasoned, and hot, which is a winning combination. Needless to say, I would highly recommend stopping by! And a quick tip for anyone visiting: try to get there before 9:00 AM. I've heard that it gets lively and crowded fast, but going early makes it much easier to get a table.

My orange juice connoisseur BFF gave it the thumbs-up of approval. We asked for a glass of ice, and it elevated the drink. Steak and Green Eggs (BFF) - Wow. Those green eggs--what's in them? What is in them? Delicious with buttered toast. The potatoes were perfectly crisp, and that steak? Seasoned so well, super fragrant, and moist. For a breakfast steak, it's great.
