I am juuussstt knowledgable about car stuff to be dangerous and to be usually safe from some unscrupulous car repair shops. (okay, I called him with my phone; he answered). he told me to stop the other shop and it did indeed sound like theater. Which was a Saturday, meaning my truck wouldn't get investigated until Tues. fine by me. drop off truck and we ate Laotian noodle soup, and drove back to Sonoma County feeling full and knowing I was gonna get the straight honest info on Tuesday. In response to Frank's response to my review on his service, that response is such full of lies. When I first called and asked if he could fix this part, and he knew what was wrong and how to fix it. For the window motor, he took off the whole door to fix the window motor. After he replaced the window motor , he had to have mess up the door lock cylinder, because when I brought my car in, I had NO problems with it what so ever. After he fixed the window motor, I couldnt even put my key into the key door slot. I would say he saw 2 young kids looking for service and decided he could scam us. He charged us $1,000 for a simple window motor fix ( only to fix one problem and make another), and to fix the MAIN problem which was fixing the trunk door that could not open. For the trunk door, he fixed the latch, but as you open and closed the trunk door, you could hear parts rattling inside. I called him up after we picked the car up in the evening after waiting all day and told him these issues, he told us he could take a look and fix it. So not only did we waste a whole day, we had to bring it in AGAIN, and wasted another whole day for him to "fix" the problem. If he claims to be the expert he was, he should not have made more problems, and fix it correctly the first time. So 2nd day, we brought the car back for him to fix everything that we paid for, and fix the problems he caused. ONLY to return to pick up our car at the end of the day, to NOTHING fixed, same problems. Its like he kept our car there, and did no work what so ever, and gave it back to us claiming everything was fixed. Trunk pieces rattling inside the trunk, driver key hole was still not fixed, couldnt even insert key. Such garbage service, and scam, like preying on 2 young kids just to scam them, lie through your teeth, upcharge for the service just to break more parts, never fulfill the service that was paid for, claim that he could fix it and break more stuff than fix the actual problem paid for. You can tell he used some cheap parts to try to make the trunk door handle open, because 1 month later, the door handle broke, and we were unable to open the trunk door again. All an owner can do for replying to some peoples bad experiences is that it will " help them learn to improve". But really, he is full of himself. this guy knew what he was doing originally when he knew he couldnt fix the main problem, and how much he was charging us. He had the nerve to tell us to come back to refix his mess, just to waste time and pretend like he worked on it. To people reading this, this a real life experience of 2 days wasted and $1k down the drain. I don't recommend this guy's business to anyone around. If you can't fix it, be truthful and dont say you specialize in these vehicles, and when something breaks on your behalf, don't go blaming saying cars are very complicated. Its one thing to lie about the job that you know you cant do correctly the first time, its another thing to waste peoples time, and another thing to cheat money out of people for such bad customer service and a bad job. read more
