Also forgot Costco run in truck since had to get a ride trim shop. instead of calling me sating i forgot stuff in truck they said grapes were delicious when i picked up truck. Whaaaaat? Also after they replaced radiator and got into it with them for almost doubling the price that they quoted me once it got got there happen to be a nick in the AC right in front of the radiator that I had to take to a reputable shop to get fixed, which was a lot more than the radiator replacement. Do your research before going there for your own benefit unless you don't care about money! And Sorry for late review as I very, very do reviews but happen to do another one on a mattress that I just bought and there were amazing and noticed the response and is totally false. They are a straight corrupt company and who knows if they're still in business after I went there the owner was calling me a few times a week trying to offer me free oil changes as he admitted they screwed up. I stopped in a few months ago to ask about a re-occurring message I see on my Toyota Prius C's panel because many mechanics could not fix this! It was something about the hybrid battery running low, but my car always tests that it's fine. They solved it and didn't charge me to reset it. I was impressed with that quick fix and their kindness to not charge. Since I had just gotten my oil changed across the street, I promised I would come back for my next oil change. Since I only have one weekday off, I called them to schedule this oil change, day's prior, and my name was taken and a time discussed (12:30pm on a Wednesday). When I got there, I was greeted by someone who said there was no appointment made and that there were no mechanics there! He didn't even try to make it right! I left angry. I had planned ahead, called and scheduled an appointment with a younger person than who greeted me and he took my name and phone number. I scheduled the oil change across the street once again, because they've always come through. I have to wait another week, but I'd rather give the business to someone I trust. read more

I flew up to the Bay Area to buy a Land Cruiser FJ80 from a private party. The vehicle needed a new radiator in order to drive it all the way to Southern California. Found ToyotaPro on Yelp and connected with Berner. After hearing my situation, Berner offered to pick up the part before I even got to the shop so I could be on my way home when the shop closed at 5pm. The Toyota tech that worked on my new vehicle was named Bill. This guy was amazing. Very well versed in FJ80 Land Cruisers and told me a few things he was going to check out in addition to replacing the radiator. They finished right before closing, but Bill took the time to stay after 5pm and walk me through some things that were solid and a few to do's once I got home. He was also kind enough to offer a few tips such as which oil is best for these high mileage Land Cruisers. Fair prices. Expert technicians. Thank you Berner and Bill. You guys saved the day. Yeah, I have not responded to you Sam, because there is nothing you can say to make me feel any better about this situation. You say it was a honest mistake to mix up the cars? When I complained to you about the bogus estimate(refer to picture of email with yellow), you assured me the receptionist made a mistake and that you would "fix her mistake". You then sent me "the right estimate " (Email in red). I told you there was absolutely no way my car needed an oil change, I had just got one. You then sent a 3rd email (blue) removing the oil change. You were very content with this final estimate. I emailed asking where was the airbag diagnosis? (The green email) and the receptionist response was in so many words they haven't checked that out but were (email in pink). After all this craziness back and forth I just gave the go ahead to fix the airbag and I would pick up my car. These last emails in purple were after I expressed my concern to the receptionist about the bogus estimates. I told her I just wanted my car. After I paid and had my keys in hand I asked to speak to you. Only when I told you I was taking my car to Toyota of Berkeley did you attempt to adjust the printed estimate I was handed by the receptionist. Sam, you, Maggie(receptionist) and I know there was no mistake, you sir were quite aware of what was happening. Knowing a 2nd estimate by another mechanic would prove your estimate to be false you frantically attempted to adjust the estimate, by scribbling out the top line. Yes, let's look at the cameras to see your reaction when you knew I was taking the car to TOB I've seen things like this happen on TV, but I honestly NEVER thought it would happen to me. I brought my 4runner in because of an unpleasant chemical/mold smell back in apr. 22. They told me that I needed an evaporator core and expansion valve (quote $1900) due to the extensive labor to remove the whole dash.. fine, approved. I picked up the car and they told me that they only changed the expansion valve and ended up paying 1600 dollars. A few months later I checked in because the smell was still present and was told that the smell would take a while to go away, so I dealt with it, it never did. The smell kept getting worse and I contacted them to have it looked at. They looked at it and told me there was nothing wrong. A few months later I called them because now the ac is not working and it was just blowing hot air, so I brought it in AGAIN. They had the car for a day and they told me that I needed an evaporator core. I was livid. I don't know what kind of records they keep but they had no idea they had already quoted me for one before. They told me that during the previous work, it didn't need to be replaced but now does (quote 1900 again). I did not feel I had to pay but agreed to pay 900 due to the technician having to do all that work. I picked up the car and they showed me the evap core, yes, it showed signs of build-up where it had been leaking for a while (which tells me they didn't bother to look at it the first time). I also noticed that instrument display backlight for the air controls was not working, this was not critical, so I opted to bring it in at a later date. A few weeks later I noticed that no matter what mode the air was on, the air blew from the defroster mode and not the vents. I finally brought it in and they told me that my mode actuator was not working and needed to be replaced, ( at this point I'm beyond livid and told them that I'm not paying for any more work) I told them I would pick up car. When I picked up the car they gave it to me disassembled. The passenger side panel front panel and the glove box were removed (I have pictures). I was glad because this gave me access to the mode actuator. I tested the function of the air in different modes and it worked perfectly fine moving the various doors (I have video). This tells me that the reason it wasn't working is because they left more than one thing disconnected when they assembled the car back together, and instead of owning up to it they tried to charge me for a new actuator Being a single dad, this is my only mode of transportation, so between my time, gas, and Lyft rides, taking it to Concord Toyota and having them do it right would have been way cheaper. read more

Took my highlander here because it had been making noises for awhile and I also wanted a oil change. They were able to diagnose the problem quickly, I needed a new water pump. Got it fixed at location, was able to pickup car end of day. Price seemed reasonable but was not cheap, they didn't charge me for the Water pump. I took my car originally to get a tune up. My car ran 100% fine no shaking everything was fine. Took to get a tune up, and when I left car was shaking a tad. My car has never done that. Ignored it for a bit then a coil was misfiring horribly. Took it back and had them fix it. They do. My break pump goes out they fix it etc etc. ANOTHER COIL GOES OUT. Ok I do the work this time because I'm sick of bringing it back. Tell me WHY 3 of my spark plugs were not screwed in all the way. One of them was barely even in! A bolt to keep my coil in was GONE! A bolt of a mount to hold some fluid is GONE! replaced every coil. One was so bad (the one with the spark plug barley in) that the coil was SPLITTING in half! I lost my trust with this business because i feel like they are not purposely leaving stuff not finished all the way so I go back and spend more money. I don't know what has happened to this business over the years because they used to be good. Don't recommend unless you're willing to throw your money away! read more

I had recently had some work done to my car here and taken my other cars here frequently. I usually get basic work done and nothing too big that requires dealership work maintenance. My most recent trip was a check engine light that went on. I have at least 210,000 miles, but it's my commuter car. I was able to take it in without an appointment. I had a new battery and oil change along with the temperature gauge being changed out. Sam, the owner; seemed genuinely concerned and at no time felt pressured for any up charges. My older car was throwing an evap code, and after running out of troubleshooting ideas, I took it to ToyotaPro to get it diagnosed. Sam was very flexible on the time and just super friendly and fun to chat with in general. They were pretty busy, so I left expecting that I might get a call at the end of the day, but they had it ready in less than two hours. They quoted me around parts cost + $250 for the repair, which is very fair considering the labor involved. If the car was newer I would have done that, but I told Sam that I wanted to try the repair myself to get some experience and save on our beater car. Not only did he not mind that, but he gave me advice on what to watch out for and then only charged me half of the quote for the diagnosis. This really is an above-board and honest mechanic. Apparently Toyotas do have a flaw. At least my 2006 Highlander Hybrid did, with a brake actuator that went out at 160k miles. Apparently it is a common problem with Toyotas. The dealer quoted me $2500 and hemmed and hawed about whether it was the problem and if it might need more work after that. (Trying to sell me a new car I think.) Sam was direct and honest, said he sees these all the time and that it would be good to go again once I fixed the actuator. TototaPros got it done the next day, for $200 less and my Highlander had been running perfectly for 2-3 months now. Great experience! read more

I don't know why my husband keeps going here? Just because they're reasonably affordable but I rather pay top dollar to avoid having to come here again. Every time we take the truck here, they forgot to fix/put back the problems they caused or found. We brought his truck here multiple times. The first inspection they diagnosed it and they "fixed" it just to find another issue right after we take it home. Once they "fixed" the problem, we've noticed another problem that they forgot to fix or forgot to mention it. Then we have to bring it back, which is just another headache. I rather pay more money at the dealership to have it taken care of because this place keeps forgetting to fix the trucks problem. It's either they are half fast with the job or maybe they mess with it themselves just so we come back and spend more money, who knows ‍ . read more

ToyotaPro went from an overwhelming 5 Star Review down to a ZERO Star review!!! Avoid at all costs! Do not trust them. Do not allow them to touch your car. The old ToyotaPro is now gone and replaced by a dishonest owner and mechanic. They use subpar parts during repairs. They do not provide a fully detailed written estimate. They did not provide a completed one upon request. They gave a final figure, but did not abide by their promises as evidenced by the final invoice. ToyotaPro used to be busy all of the time. Now, their bays are empty! They changed ownership back in 2018. The old crew is no longer there. This new ToyotaPro cannot be trusted. read more

ToyotaPro fixed a nagging emissions problem with my old 4 Runner that had eluded 3 other mechanics. This problem, although innocuous was causing dash lights and failed smog checks. A lot of people trust Toyotapro and speak highly of them, so when my check engine light came on, I knew that's where I wanted to take my car. Before I brought my car in, however, I took it to two other places to get the check engine light code checked out: Autozone and a smog check place. Both places came back with the same prognosis. When Toyotapro looked at the code, they informed my friend who took it in for me that sometimes on the Prius the code can say one thing but can be another problem entirely. I trusted them and went with what they recommended, which involved a lot of miscommunication between them and Toyota, the wrong part being delivered (which we found out the day of our appointment), and in the end, two days after driving away my check engine light came back on. By this time, I was sure the car gods were just messing with me, because it turns out they were wrong when they diagnosed my check engine code, and it was in fact what the original code said. They apologized, profusely, and quickly went to work ordering the correct part and getting my car fixed quick. They ended up refunding the money for the original part, plus giving me a discount on the new part and the smog check. Even with the whole fiasco taking way longer than it should have, the service was nonetheless amazing. Sam and Shane were very patient with my friend and I, even when we were upset, and in the end, they did what was right on their own volition. Thank you both. I will in the future continue taking my car to Toyotapro, because even though the whole situation wasn't ideal, they proved that they are truly part of a dying breed: The honest mechanic. read more

Well, you could save a bit of money and go to ToyotaRookie, but why take a chance? I decided to take my baby to Toyotapro for an oil change. Prices are actually comparable to local area shops. Since I called right as they opened, they offered me a same-day appointment. Good thing too, because when I showed up, their parking lot was all full! The staff is friendly and professional. They gave me a receipt with all of the pertinent information. Their waiting area is clean and has a TV. It's a 5 minute walk to the shopping center with Ranch 99, Starbucks, and Fry's Electronics. I spent most of my time browsing the craft store. They called me when the car was ready & I walked back. Their time estimate was very close, considering how busy they were. The cost was exactly what they quoted me and they didn't try to sell me extra stuff. They did a fabulous job and paid attention to the details (no leaks, reset the indicator light, affixed a window cling with a reminder). They even checked the fluids & brakes without an extra charge. Extremely bad experience with this shop. I asked them to fix the A/C of my car, but the fixed only last for a few months (probably 4 months) and my /A/C is broken again. First, they said that there's a leak in the A/C system. So I agreed for them to fix it, they fixed it. After a few months, the A/C is not working again. They said, the fan is broken. Fine, I agreed to pay again for everything. Third time, the most annoying one after a couple of month and I rarely the car. The said there's a leak again AND THEY ARE CHARGING ME AGAIN for $890 !!!!! I called 3 different shops and was told since its over 20 years old, they wouldn't work on it. I called Toyota Pro and they said of course we will work on your vehicle, so we had it towed into their shop. I told them what the original problem was and they went through it. Great service, friendly staff, very honest and helpful. I tried out Yelp's "Request a Quote" feature for Toyotapro, and Michael (the owner) responded to my inquiry very promptly and proceeded to book my appointment. I initially brought my car in because I suspected that my coolant levels were low. Frank called me back right away after I dropped off the vehicle, and he explained to me and pointed out areas in my vehicle where I might find evidence of a leak -- there was none. Coolant levels turned out to be fine, so he did not charge me for service. He also gave me a tip to look out for with my vehicle, that the engine starts to excessively consume oil at my mileage mark, regardless if you're on top of regular oil changes. Good to know. Had a good experience here, and will consider Toyotapro again next time my vehicle is in need of service. read more
