This is the best Belmont Ave. Pizza in the city. This pie is made with a old natural Chicago style flavor. The interior is beyond retro as it hasn't been touched, I don't think, since the 50's. Even the outside sign is old with the worded phone number. My friends father own pizza places all over the Northwest side from the 70's until his death. So I've been looking for a great mom and pop pizza place since I moved to the neighborhood last year and all I can say is Frank's is the best pizza I've tasted in the city of Chicago. The first time I ordered was on a Friday night I got the thin crust pizza the crust has a crispy and chewy consistency which I love the sauce has excellent flavor and you can tell they use high quality cheese since it's not greasy. I enjoyed it so much I decided to order on a Sunday, but this time I ordered the stuffed pizza and a pound of fried mushrooms the mushrooms had an excellent breading and they were plentiful, the pizza on the other hand lacked big time in presentation department which made it hard to manage the delivery guy informed me to call the restaurant and let them know how the new pizza maker did and I did exactly that. Dennis was so kind and he delivered the kind of customer service I expect to get everywhere if a mistake occurs by making sure they corrected their mistake and offering to make something over again free of charge. Well tonight I got to order again and the stuffed pizza was amazing better than Lou Malnatis which I never thought I would say in a million years this restaurant is a true gem keep up the good work and excellent customer service. You guys are probably going to make me gain more weight than I should this pregnancy because of your delicious food, but it's so worth it. read more

I went to Franks pizza for the first time tonight. The pizza was absolutely delicious; a true Chicago pizza. We ordered a thin sausage and mushroom and a pan sausage and pepperoni. It was really good pizza. The place was pretty quiet inside so it was a great for our family to talk. Seemed a ton of people carry out from there. A man who I believe was the owner came by and was very attentive to us. Really a great place. read more

Frank's is a great neighborhood joint with some of the best thin-crust, Chicago style pizza in town. The crust is very thin and crispy, the sauce is tangy, not sweet, and the sausage is fantastic. Nothing but good flavors. They deliver and it is BYOB. Old school place, Sinatra playing in the background. Nothing fancy, but excellent food. This is my go-to spot for thin crust pizza. read more

I usually like the food and eating there, but when I went on a Wednesday for 1/2 price pizza (eat in) only, I was not told that the pizza is ONLY half price if you eat half of it there!!!. My friend and I were not able to eat half so I asked to take it to go, that's when I found out. That's crazy!! They should list that on their menu, door and website. They did give me the half price pizza but ,they weren't too happy about it. read more

I love Franks! Franks Pizzeria has a very comfortable and cozy atmosphere-I love the grape lights hanging thoughout the resturant. The food is outstanding. I love their pizza-its nice and thin with great cheese and sauce. I love that they make their own italian sausage!! My favorite pizzas are Franks Special, Cheese and Sausage, and Italian Beef with Giardinera. I think Frank's has the best food, and my favorite italian beef sandwiches! read more

order from 8/12/2018 (Sunday) .......ordered the cheesy garlic bread, it always comes cut up with cheese covering most of the top....today when I got the order, it wasnt cut up & the cheese just "plopped" on a skinny roll like somebody that was doing the recipe for the first time.....plus the i.c. sundae cups usually are filled to the top for the most part but instead I got 2 cups of I.c. sundae with both cups only being filled like 60-70%. I really do like the thin crust pizza here and yes they use a great tasting sausage! Everything is very fresh and not too greasy considering it's a very thin crust pizza. I did not know about the mon/wed half price specials. I stopped orderering from here because I thought they were a little pricey. (It would cost me over $20 for a 14" with 2-3 toppings) I was also dissappointed that they do not offer anything larger than a 16". (when feeding a small group I'd prefer ordering an 18" pizza) I've only ordered for pick up and delivery from here. The interior dining are has a few booths in a dimly "romantically" lit area that gives off a very old school italian garden feel (lots of dark wood, lattice and vines) Looks cozy although I have yet to see anyone inside eating there. Also upon enterintg it has a little bit of a musty smoker smell that reminds me of walking into a tavern in the middle of the day and I'm not sure I could dine in that but the pizza is still very good. read more

The food here is awesome. Pizza is extra thin and just the way I like it. My kids love it also. Thank God I found this hidden gem. The salads and pasta are pretty good also..I guess there is alot of deliveres and less take out..But the fact that it is a byob makes it worth more for dinning in..The waitress told me they also do a lot of catering of parties . One of these stars is for the awesome sign outside. The other is because they've been around for so long. But the atmosphere and the food were both extremely lacking. We were the only customers inside, and this was on a Saturday night. One booth was just full of papers and boxes, and there was a tiny bug flying around our food in the booth we were in. I got a pizza with spinach as one of the toppings, and it was very clear from seeing it and tasting it that it was frozen spinach from a bag. I could get that myself at Jewel for $1. I would have rather brought my own leaves of fresh spinach to put on. The crust and sauce weren't great either. It tasted like super cheap, mediocre pizza. They clearly have take pride in their pizza if they're using such low quality toppings. I took most of it home, and scraped the toppings off before attempting to warm it up and eat more of it. We were disappointed with this place, and it's sad because it has the potential to be really charming. But you can get better pizza in the frozen section of any supermarket. read more

In my opinion they have the best pizza in the area and maybe the whole city. They do not skimp on the ingredients and are usually very quick with delivery. Their prices have gone up through the years though making it an expensive order. $30 for a Garbage pizza is a little steep. read more

Decided to bring a friend in the hospital pizza for a change of pace. I grew up 2 blocks away from the restaurant & order once in a while for delivery....but had not been inside for 20 years. I was pleasantly surprised. The seats could use some recovering, but it was clean & inviting. I think I will have to partake in 1/2 price Monday in the restaurant next time. I ordered a medium 12'' pizza with bacon and mushrooms for delivery. The pizza tasted fine, but it ended up giving me horrible food poisoning. I would never eat here again. read more
