The base is thick and doughy, layered with some mozzarella, a tasty sauce, and slightly charred pepperoni. The tavern style provides a nice contrast. Served cut into squares, it has a solid thin crust that holds up nicely under some melted cheese and loads of flat pepperoni. This remains my absolute favorite deep dish in Chicago, and I go anytime I'm in town visiting. Pro tip: Make a reservation well in advance because walk-in wait times get incredibly long.

I'm so glad Mr. V's is in my neighborhood! I can walk there to pick up food to take home or eat there. I'm a fan of their thin crust pizza. Their fresh ingredients really make a difference--no "blah" mushrooms or tomato sauce here. I usually order the Mr. V's Special pizza. They have very good Italian beef sandwiches--loaded with tender beef & I always add sweet peppers. There's a good selection of sandwiches & meals, with specials each day of the week. read more
