We had a later reservation so we got there early and got a drink at the bar. Bar service was quick but the drinks were small. They got us into a table early which was nice. We started with the potato skins which were ok nothing to write home about fairly simple. We both ordered the prime rib and mashed potatoes with a salad. The salad was fairly basic lettuce, one chunk of cucumber and one quarter of tomato with a red onion. The meal came out fairly quick, but was lukewarm. The prime rib was decent, but didn't have much flavor without horseradish. The mashed were bland and cool. Our server was nice but just seemed very nonchalant. However the gentleman that brought our food had a ton of personality and was really nice. The restaurant itself was pretty clean and not super loud given that they were fairly full. Definitely an old time steakhouse meets Italian spot vibe.

What happened Frank? We've been coming here for 8 years and this is the worst experience at Frank's by far. We always look forward to Frank's on our semi-annual trips to Boston, but we may not be back. We went on a Monday night around 8. Plenty of open tables so seated right away. First sign something was amiss. Frank's was usually pretty full everytime we came. The place has OG steakhouse vibe with leather booths and a big bar up front. Our server was real fast and friendly. +1* for her excellent service. We ordered 3 steaks with soup. Most of the French Onion soup was pretty good - except for the onions. They had a sight strange taste to it. The clam chowder was downright unedible. One spoonful and we sent it back. Tasted like the cream was bad or something. Next up were steaks. They lacked flavor and were not up to the usual Frank's standard. Only ate half. Side were bad as well. How do you screw up brocolli and mashed potatoes? 1*. Frank's used to be highlight of our Boston steak experiences but this was worse than a mid-tier steakhouse. We're very sad Frank's food has gone downhill and we won't be returning.

we got there at 630 and bone in ribeye, prime rib and the apple crisp ran out. we ordered two Tomahawk and one of them was more on the burnt side.

Overall the food was ok. The server was nice. We came for my mom's birthday, and they gave her a dessert on the house. The bread rolls were hard. We got fried calamari, filet mignon, steak tips, and scallops. The steak tips were a bit charred and overcooked. The scallops were a bit overcooked. The red bliss mashed potato was tasty. There's a small parking lot in the back.

Amazing food and service place is a flash back to the mid century. keno and a sizzler / what a night. Missed this place as I moved to another town but had the opportunity after years of first going to comeback and it didn't disappoint

I was on vacation in Cape Cod and decided to go to Boston for the day. I went shopping, saw a movie with my wife and decided to eat dinner before heading back. Looked up steak restaurants on my phone and Frank's came up. I didn't have a problem finding parking a couple of blocks away on the street. When I got to the restaurant I noticed two things. 1. You can tell it was an old upscale mafia style restaurant. 2. You could play the lottery in there. Now the place was doing business but you could tell it was local people. When the food came out I was like okay. Plate looks good but it was something I could have done at home. Nothing was seasoned. I found this place to be overrated. It's living on a long history

The ambiance walking in is very nice here. The service is atrocious. My steak knife was dull. We asked for drink refills before our meals came and then received them after we were finished. I ordered wine when I ordered my dinner and it never came. We were sat in the corner next to the table the wait staff does their side work at. My husband ordered a ribeye and was most definitely served an unseasoned flank steak. My filet was rubbery with a hard crust. The best part of our meal my side salad. My son ordered ziti and was seved rigatoni. There's nothing wrong with rigatoni but it is a very different noodle. After reviewing the bill, it looks like my wine was never even rung in. I would only recommend this restrestaurant to someone i wanted to have a bad night.

It was an off day for Frank's steakhouse. Typically they're spot on but I couldn't tell if it was Father's Day or simply our server was just having a long day himself. The good news is my husband was happy with his sirloin steak, my daughter thought her lamb shank tasted more like chicken... I thought it was okay. So I end up ordering the petite filet mignon now they weren't kidding when it was petite it was more like a 2 oz beef medallion basically taking a typical filet mignon and severing it in the middle. It was cooked just how I like it but for $25 I just couldn't justify it...maybe $18. Thank God the mashed potato came with it. Our server seem very tired so he didn't give off good energy at all and I kind of felt sorry for him. No water refills, no smile, no good attitude. I asked for cracked pepper and when he brought it over instead of cracking it over our steak he basically planted it on our table... So much for good service. My expectations for service was whatever. Dessert was decent I had their carrot cake... Nothing to really write home about. The last time here, we had a tomahawk steak which wasn't on the menu so I had thought it was just a special. But then when we left, the manager who was nice told us that Tomahawk is by request cuz it takes 40 minutes to make and had I known that maybe I would have felt better but overall... This experience was just ok..

DRY and BLAND $32 meal...? Medium more like overcooked.

There are options for AYCE as well as by weight, and if you do by weight you have to weigh everything you get at the side buffet and only get meat from the counter, so we opted for AYCE because that seemed cumbersome. The service here was friendly and attentive and as long as your token is green, the meat literally comes nonstop! I really liked their sides and salads, especially the plantains and fresh fruits. The meats were perfectly done and though they didn't really ask, all my pieces were medium/medium rare which is how I like it. The cut that was infused with garlic was really good, as were the sirloin and the chicken hearts and spicy pork sausages. Some pieces were very salty, but I'm pretty sensitive to salt. The grilled pineapple was luscious. If we didn't already have cake waiting for us at home, I would have definitely indulged in some tres leches or lime cake. They ended the meal with cooked cheese dipped in honey or guava sauce which was interesting. The fresh fruit at the salad bar was really refreshing. I probably wouldn't come back because it's just way too much meat/food for me and not my usual favorite (also rather pricey for dinner/weekends). However, my family had a great meal here and I think it's definitely a step up from fogo de chao in terms of quality and service. If you're into Brazilian steakhouses (or steak in general) I would highly recommend this place.

I was so full by the end I didn't even have room for the pineapple or to finish the grilled cheese, let alone even consider a dessert. They also served chicken hearts at my request. The decor and setting was much more fine dining style than I expected from the outside.

We ordered all three of the mock tails on the menu -- Odin's Oracle was a sparkling elderflower and passion fruit drink, the Northern Rose was fruity with a slight thick cream of coconut base (and the tables favorite!) and the last drink was a warm ginger drink. They all came out looking beautiful. For food, we started with the Halloumi Cheese which was delicious and perfect for sharing (comes with four pieces), then tried the Blueberry Ricotta Cornbread (really well made and yummy but needed a little more butter spread) and the fried burrata (huge serving of burrata with balsamic, fig jam, warm bread, just as good as it sounds). We tried the Braised Short Rib Croquettes which were stuffed with short rib and topped with sooo much yummy cheese. We also had the Pappardelle braised shore rib Ragu which was truly delicious-- would highly recommend. For dessert we tried a special menu bread pudding which was a perfect end to the night. Our leftovers came perfectly packaged in little baggies with dish names and dates written on them which is so cute and thoughtful!
