Eating Frankie's for years , the food is outstanding but the ribs are the best ! Staff & service are also very good .

Gyros are awesome and big order. Their rib special on Saturday is also really good. Haven't tied much else yet.

Every once in a while I get a taste for a hot dog or a gyro. Franky's is the place I like to go to. Prices are reasonable. Food is great and prepared quick. Sad to say this is my last time at frankys in Addison the quality and customer service has changed. I have been going here for years and lately since they have opened a second location it seems like the quality and service at Addison location have gone way down. I believe in the three strike rule and can say after today they are OUT. I think even the owner knows there is a problem because I over heard him yelling at the staff on a piss poor job that they were doing in preparing the food and said it is not like that at the other location. Hope one day he realizes that he is loosing business in Addison to gain it in their new location. I ordered the ribs an didn't even get everything that comes with the meal. Also the ribs were not slabs they were hacked up pieces from several slabs. And I asked for a cup of sauce on the side paid for it but yea they didn't include it and this is not the first time. The guys taking your order seem to write it down but if you are not checking your whole order before you leave be prepared to get partial orders and when you confront them about it they say oh sorry didn't know or I didn't charge u for it. Best pizza deal in the western burbs. Got an extra large(they only have (lg/xl) for $21 plus tax and it was great. I grew up on south side where pizza is the best and Frankys rivaled my experiences at Fasanos, Palermo's and Vito & nicks....Don't be fooled by what's sitting out in the heater because that pizza is sliced in un-American....I mean NY style. I went to Frankie's yesterday and ordered the pepperoni pizza....I am a huge fan of pizza and thought this particular pie was tasty but too doughy. I prefer a New York style of pizza and one that I can fold over. The cheese tastes pretty good though. The service at Frankie's is really fast. You start at the left side of the restaurant and by the time you are done paying they have the food ready...this is a good thing. The interior of the business is kind of like a normal fast food joint. Wish the seats were more comfy.... My overall experience was just mediocre. I am going to come back and try the Italian Beef next time. I hear that is pretty good. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! I am a frequent customer here so this experience is extremely upsetting to me. I ordered a cheeseburger with everything and NO bun as I'm not eating carbs. Got my order and pulled away. Opened it up only to find there was no plastic ware. How the heck are you supposed to eat this with no plastic ware. Frustrated, I called and got Franky. I told him what I ordered, he was familiar with the order, then told him I didn't get a fork and knife. He said 'did you ask for one'? I said are you kidding me? I ordered a cheeseburger with NO bun, how am I supposed to eat this? He said ' well I wasn't working the window so I have no idea'! Great job accepting responsibility there 'Owner'!!!! This place is a no no! The pizza I had here was just old and the cheese was really dried up. This was my second time here and I just did not like it at all. The last time I came here i had a hot dog and it tasted like an Oscar Mayer hot dog... I really don't recommend this place at all. read more

I've been here at least 30 times and always came back because the older women at the register was very kind and if I had a problem with my order she would redo it with no attitude , I always order a gyro with easy meat extra sauce no tomato with onions and one day I came in and this young women who has been there for a while must have been training another young girl took my order and I repeated my order three times well it must have pissed her off cuz she rolled her eyes at me but I tried telling her every time I order my gyro I want it a special way she snaps at me and says she's got it ! I get my gyro go home open the bag and no surprise it's not what I wanted so I call back and she answers and yes I'm pissed so I say this is not what I fucking ordered and you told me you got it and you even rolled you're eyes at me hmmmm won't be going there any more some people are just so rude read more

We order regularly from Franky's and we are usually happy with the food and service. I cant say the same about our experience last night. Some of the ingredients on the pizza were wrong and when i called to notify them there was no apology for the error. Just said you can come and get a new pizza or we can give you 1/2 off next time. When you make a mistake like that on an order, you should apologize, offer to deliver the correct pizza or provide a pizza at no cost next time. That would be what I consider good customer service. In the year 2013, all fast food places take visa. Not this place. Went there for the first time. Put a order in and got to the line to pay. Tried to give my visa to pay and was told cash or use a little a.t.m. I don't have cash and use my card all the time. They also wants charge a dollar to pay for the food. Wtf. This is my second go-around at this place. The first time I tried the hot dog. It was nasty. they say they use Red Hot Chicago, which is my favorite brand of dog, but if they do, yuck, they cook it really badly. This time I tried the italian beef combo which came with fries and a drink. I paid almost $8.00 for it. I then find out all beefs are $2.50 all day Monday....Gee, maybe I already feel ripped off? Anyway, I figure, maybe the sandwich will be so awesome I won't care. WRONG ANSWER. YUCK YUCK AND YUCK! The beef was THICK and didn't even seem cooked and had about zero flavor. I had my friend who was with me try some of the meat to see if it was me perhaps. First thing I heard was YUCK! I threw it out and had the drink for lunch. I went up to get a refill, which by the way was 50 cents. Seriously? I would give this place ZERO STARS if I could. YUCK. Go to Nana's across the street. Cheaper, better and EATABLE! And they take cash only.......ummmm I don't like to carry cash. Another negative for this place. Never again, I'd rather starve! read more

The food was o.k. I really don't think we will be returning though. It say's that the store accepts credit cards on this yelp page, but it does not really. There are signs throughout the store (not on the door before you enter) saying they accept cash only. They do have a interesting ATM attached to the cash register, that charges $1, but that dollar in my opinion, seems to go right back to the restaurant. Didn't seem very fair to charge customers that dollar. I'd rather go to portillo's and pay the same prices that franky's charges for what seems to be better food, and better customer service. read more

I love this place. Had the ribs for the first time, and like everything else on the menu I was not disappointed. Coleslaw that came with the meal was soggy, but I'm not a fan of it anyway so I could care less about that. read more

Having just had hot dogs the day before, I decided to try their italian beef thinking it would be just as good as their hot dogs and gyros. Blahhh! The beef was wayyyyy too salty. It is also very thickly cut, which I'm not a fan of. My boyfriend said it tasted like the frozen stuff and I'd have to agree with that. My sandwich barely had any cheese in it and only the end that was touching the foil was dipped. It was so bad that I couldn't finish it. I'll keep this rating at 3 stars only because their hot dogs and gyros are really good but for italian beef, I'll definitely be going to Portillos. I may have to pay a little more there, but it's worth it and I feel satisfied at the end. read more

How did I not know about Frankie's before? This is an outstanding greasy spoon/beef joint that I highly recommend for personnel lunch. The 4th star would be easy to give but no credit cards accepted and the $1.00 to use debit machine in front of the register screams of scam. If in Addison, Illinois and at lunch time, a good fast food joint is Frankys Red Hots, on Lake Street in Addison, Il. The dinning area appears clean and based on the fact the many police officers eat lunch there I would say its clean. The Hot Dog Special, 2 dogs, fries and a medium drink for $5.00 is a great deal, especially for the kids. The hamburgers and beef sandwiches are also very good. The best place for their deals. The hot dog meal deal and rib meal deal Saturdays are the best. However, save your money on the Philly cheesesteak and subs because Jersey Mike's makes it better. Pizza is a great deal and any topping is free to add. Right near movie theater, so it's a great alternative to overpriced food so you can save it for drinks at their bar there. The best gyro in town. Best gyros around bar none! They obviously use a good quality meat and have the right sauce. Pizza is amazing for a hot dog joint. Think Garibaldis taste but a little thicker and less greasy. I've been been going to Frankie's for a long time. The food is always good and it's always hot. The prices are reasonable and the workers are always very friendly. My only complaint is that they are the last retailer in the world that do not take credit/debit. Well, sort of. There is a machine on the counter that allows you to pay with a cc but there is an additional sur charge, which is bizarre to me. I routinely don't go there simply because I normally don't carry cash on me and I refuse to pay extra to use a cc. Frankys is an good place for a quick lunch. Fast service. They have a 2 hot dog special with fries for $5.75. It's not the best hot dog, but not the worst. It comes with all the usual condiments. The gyros are also O.K. Not the best or the worst. The meat is good, lots of onion and tomato, the cucumber sauce is a little watery. The pizza is a good thin crust, nice flavor but a little greasy. I enjoy going to get a hot dog at Frankie's once in a while. But a few things... One, the service is intimidating. If you aren't a regular and don't know the code names, you look like an idiot! Second the fries are just ok nothing special, but when it comes to getting a hot dog shouldn't it have above average fries?! Third the buns can be dry at times. So we went to the chiropractor and a few doors down was Franky's Red Hots my son was hungry and asked to eat here I have never been to Frankys so I was like sure let's give it a try, my son wanted pizza, they have a Kids Menu that has pizza and drink for $5 bucks so I told the guy I would like the kids meal pizza, I ordered myself a chicken Cesar salad simple enough and added some mozzarella sticks and my daughter ordered a chicken gyro sandwich nothing else checked out total was $32. Bucks For some crappy food. I was extremely disappointed with the salad no croutons some packet of cheese and super dry chicken, my daughter took one bite of the gyro and hated it I don't know what type of sauce they put to me seemed like some mayo mix with butter no flavor and a teaspoon of it. The only thing that was good were the mozzarella/cheese sticks. Also felt that I over paid for what I ordered I go to ask for a detail of my order they guy could not give me the detail prices that I was charged long story short he charged me for a regular adult meal for my sons kids meal. All I can say is I could have ate way better at Portillos for less. Save your money the food is definitely not worth the e price. read more
