The place looked dead! I ordered double (as in two dogs in one bun) hotdog and fries. After paying, while waiting, I overheard the only other customer ask for a soda refill and it was a dollar... Like seriously?! Also the place is cash only, so be warned. A customer after me came in and had to use on-premise ATM to get some cash out to pay for her food. Not judging here, but that is very convenient way to make some extra cash for a business by having an ATM on-premise. It did not take long for my food to come out. The size was about what I expected it to be. I started with the fries and they were pretty delicious, hand cut and made to order. Hotdog on the hand was alright, nothing too special, typical hotdog. Lunch on a Saturday afternoon, ordered two hot dogs everything on them. Depression style dogs served here, fries wrapped up in with the hot dogs. The hot dogs were very good, nice snap, condiments mustard, onion, relish, sport peppers, on a steamed bun. The fries are fresh hand cut on site and cooked to order and well seasoned. Inside is no frills straight up counter and few small tables, outside is a patio area with tables as well. Cash only here. Large parking lot. Will be back to try the beef. read more

I was blown away by the high level of customer service that I experienced when visiting Gina's Hot Dogs & Beef. My friends (8-10 guys) and I have a "Hot Dog Club" where we get together every week (Fridays) and have lunch at various Hot Dog Stands throughout the Chicago area (City and Suburbs). "Don't Put Ketchup on a Hot Dog Club" have become true connoisseurs of the hot dog and have become snobs to "Fresh Cut Fries" which Gina's delivers on with flying colors. The owner Ralph certainly takes pride in his establishments offering the highest level of customer service in a truly casual atmosphere. This place is cash only. We ordered a chili cheese dog, hot dog and my wife ordered an Italian beef. The chili cheese dog was very good. Not many places get their chili right but Ginas definitely did. Their hot dog was also good. Not the best I've ever had but not bad either. One of my biggest pet peeves is a bun with no poppy seeds. It's rare when I enjoy a hot dog without poppy seeds. Believe it or not the poppy seeds actually add an extra flavor to a dog. The fries however were on point. I only took a couple bites from my wife's Italian beef. Beef seemed a little rubbery with no spices. I definitely won't be ordering that next time I come here. If your lookin for a snappy dog, look no further, Gina's got it and it's good. Somewhat skinny, but definitely snappy and yes, it's a natural casing Vienna dog. Home cut fries are also good and so is the grease. A very potatoey bite, kindof like mom would make. Beef was better than I imagined. If your craving this, I give it the green light. Go for it. What I really really love at this little divey joint? Their Italian Ice! Some of the tastiest around. Tart and not too sweet. Just right. They make their own and offer a nice selection of flavors. Comes in 3 sizes. I've only had the lemon, but can't wait to try more. Watermelon, raspberry, mango, pineapple...etc. There is no monkey business here. You give your order to the guy in the kitchen and your money to the woman behind the register, and you wait for your food. CASH ONLY. Imterior is small, a few tables. In the summer, just park yourself at one of the outdoor picnic tables. My sis has been raving about this place, so I'm glad I finally made the visit here with her. I live in the area and everyone told me you gotta check out Ginas for hot dogs that are as good as Gene and Judes hotdogs. Upon my visit the place is really dingy inside I expected a little bit nicer looking of an establishment, but Gene and Judes also looks like crap but no one cares because their hotdogs are awesome!! On to the hot dog. Not bad had a nice smokyness to it it was not snappy, they put the fries on top just like Gene and Judes... but they put way less fries on the hotdog. One thing i did not care for was the neon dye that came off the relish.. it made the bun soggy green.. not super Appetizing. Are they better then gene and judes... No Are they still good... yes with some flaws Will I be back... yes Like I always say this is just my opinion I will check it out for yourself. read more

Walked in tonight at 8:20 to grab some Italian ice and I'm not sure if this guy is the owner but my husband & I we're waiting for help . Meanwhile this bald big guy is sweeping all the dust toward us & all over our feet! He starts shaking his head & at this time another customer walks in at this point & this chump (worker or owner) has a total attitude & is continually shaking his head & has attitude! Listen , if your signs say you close at 9 pm I don't understand what's the problem?? Poor customer service! If I can give you 0 stars I would. This guy was a complete Jerk! In a small hot dog shack that looks like it was once an old house. Just off of Irving Park road in Bensenville sits Gina's Hot Dogs and Beef. Despite having been nearby this eatery many times, I've never actually visited before as I was unaware it was hiding right on the other side of route 83. When pulling in to Gina's I noticed it's a small place that was at one point likely a house. There's a few parking spots around the perimeter of the building to park at. As I walked around to the door I took a look inside. There's a TV and a few seats, the inside is very small. Once I walked in I got in line and soon had placed my order. In visiting Gina's I decided to go for the hot dog with everything. The hot dog I received came on a regular non-poppy seed bun. There was no pickle, tomato or noticeable celery salt on this hot dog. The application of the mustard, onions and seemingly made on the premises relish was spot on. The sausage itself was a skinned natural casing dog, it was well heated and had a nice snap. Finally there was the sport pepper which added just the right amount of spice and zest. Overall this was a very good hot dog, it had a nice combination of flavors that complimented one another nicely. The hot dog was also wrapped and surrounded with fresh cut fries.The fries were pretty good for fresh cut style fries. They were not too greasy and had good potato flavor on the inside. While fresh cut fries are not a favorite of mine, these were an example of fresh cut fries done well, so I wasn't disappointed with them as I usually am. Overall, Gina's makes a very good depression dog style hot dog. I'd recommend it if you're in the area. I'll give this place a full five stars as for this style of hot dog it doesn't get much better. One final note if you decide to visit. This is a cash only establishment, so be prepared to hand over paper money. read more

Average Chicago style hot dogs here, nothing special. They weren't particularly great. No snap to them, which was disappointing. The fries were very good though. Very friendly staff and atmosphere. They didn't seem concerned about guests not wearing masks during a COVID pandemic, which didn't bother me, but could turn others away. I'd like to come back and try the beef. read more

First time I stopped here even though they have been around for years and I have driven past this place numerous times. I must have always been in a hurry. Ordered two dogs with everything to go. These came with mustard, onions, relish, + sport peppers along with some hand cut fries. A little over $5 for this order. The dogs were very tasty and so were the fries. Two thumbs up from this guy. In the greater Chicago area, we are most fortunate to have some great Hot Dog joints scattered all around. (Gene + Jude's, Jimmy's, Nana's, etc., etc.) Gina's fits right in. Good dogs, and definitely a "joint" as it should be. Hot Dogs, like pizza are quite subjective as to some people having very strong opinions as to which place is "the best". Not me, I don't have a favorite because there are many great places and I enjoy them all. (Most of them.) This place is great for a quick bite. Their Food (Hotdogs,Italian Beef, Fries, Pizza Puff, Etc.) are made fresh in front of you and their Italian Ice is the best you can have in the Chicago Area. It's a small and genuine place. You always get treated with respect and the Employees can be sarcastic and funny. If your in the area of Wood Dale come to Gina's. Gina's will not nor ever disappoint you. It is a good old school diner that you can eat your food and have a good time. Unlike most restaurants, quick bites, diners, etc... they actually communicate with their customers and have a normal conversation unless you just don't want to talk. The food smells so good it's just a plus to come here. This place is not really on the healthier side but if you diet or something, this place would be great for a cheat day meal. This place never have not made me happy. This is sadly a cash only place though... but don't worry this place has an ATM!! Just everything about this place in general is great. There honestly is no reason that nobody shouldn't come to this place. From the outside i'm not going to lie it looks a little crappy and not great but the food claps back and just doesn't fail. Found myself in Bensenville at lunchtime and decided to stop in at Gina's. The place was jam-packed on a Wednesday with a steady flow of customers in and out. Nice lady took my order of a couple hot dogs. The order came out quick, but I had to wait a minute for a seat-- not a problem. These Vienna dogs are depression-style, as we say in here Chicago (no pickle spear/tomato wedgies) served with fresh cut fries. Price: $2.95/ea as of 10/31/18. Decent value I think compared to most. Gina's hot dog has just the right amount of toppings; mustard, onion, bright green relish and sport peppers. Certainly lives up to expectations. read more

I'm still a big fan of Gina's. After suffering through a couple of crappy dogs over the past two weeks, it was nice to stop at Gina's. They deliver a very good Depression dog with hand cut fries that ACTUALLY look like they were cut from potatoes! (None of the crappy food service fries that so many Greek fast food joints serve with their hot dogs.). Folks complain that the dogs at Gina's are skinny. Yeah, they are probably Vienna 10's but make no mistake these ARE Vienna all beef wieners. The only reason they don't rate 5 stars is due to the lack of a poppyseed bun. Skip all the hype and lines at Gene & Jude's and sit down and enjoy a solid dog at Gina's. read more

Another little hot dog shack with some quality food. I drive by Gina's nearly every day, but we'd not tried it. Until one afternoon when I knew I had to rush off to a hair appointment soon after I got home, and offered to pick a quick dinner up on the way. So into Gina's I went -- it's a small place, with about four tables, plus a few outdoors with umbrellas. Their menu is basic though slightly larger than Nana's -- hot dogs, beef, a chicken sandwich, a fish sandwich, tamales, fries, pizza puff, Italian ice and milkshakes. I was extremely tempted to try the Italian ice (I grew up eating "wudder ice" in Philly and rarely see it replicated) but stuck with three dogs and an extra order of fries. (Grand total: $8.98.) The hot dogs come with mustard, onion, relish and sport peppers plus fries smushed on top -- too bad, I love me a good kosher pickle, but that's OK. Just leave off the relish. So they're quality dogs -- Vienna beef, nice soft bun, very tasty. The fries are hand cut and were piping hot, having just been fried when I ordered. A little soft and very tasty. Gina's is far from the only hot dog joint in town, but they are close and the prices are cheap. So the next time I have a jones for some wudder ice with my hot dog, I'm gonna go hit up Gina's. read more
