Date: 2-July-2024 Time: Lunch Total (before tip): $7.00 Payment type: Cash Server: Ordered at the counter Grade: B- I have been craving some hot dogs, so I decided to go to the place for lunch. The place looked dead! I ordered double (as in two dogs in one bun) hotdog and fries. After paying, while waiting, I overheard the only other customer ask for a soda refill and it was a dollar... Like seriously?! Also the place is cash only, so be warned. A customer after me came in and had to use on-premise ATM to get some cash out to pay for her food. Not judging here, but that is very convenient way to make some extra cash for a business by having an ATM on-premise. It did not take long for my food to come out. The size was about what I expected it to be. I started with the fries and they were pretty delicious, hand cut and made to order. Hotdog on the hand was alright, nothing too special, typical hotdog. Overall B- experience! The whole $1 refills and cash only, but you can use our ATM situation, bothered me a little, but I will come back and try something else.

Great food and excellent service, my family and I go every summer and it just gets better and better every time we go.

This place is cash only. We ordered a chili cheese dog, hot dog and my wife ordered an Italian beef. The chili cheese dog was very good. Not many places get their chili right but Ginas definitely did. Their hot dog was also good. Not the best I've ever had but not bad either. One of my biggest pet peeves is a bun with no poppy seeds. It's rare when I enjoy a hot dog without poppy seeds. Believe it or not the poppy seeds actually add an extra flavor to a dog. The fries however were on point. I only took a couple bites from my wife's Italian beef. Beef seemed a little rubbery with no spices. I definitely won't be ordering that next time I come here. Overall I probably will return.

If your lookin for a snappy dog, look no further, Gina's got it and it's good. Somewhat skinny, but definitely snappy and yes, it's a natural casing Vienna dog. Home cut fries are also good and so is the grease. A very potatoey bite, kindof like mom would make. Beef was better than I imagined. If your craving this, I give it the green light. Go for it. What I really really love at this little divey joint? Their Italian Ice! Some of the tastiest around. Tart and not too sweet. Just right. They make their own and offer a nice selection of flavors. Comes in 3 sizes. I've only had the lemon, but can't wait to try more. Watermelon, raspberry, mango, pineapple...etc. There is no monkey business here. You give your order to the guy in the kitchen and your money to the woman behind the register, and you wait for your food. CASH ONLY. Imterior is small, a few tables. In the summer, just park yourself at one of the outdoor picnic tables. My sis has been raving about this place, so I'm glad I finally made the visit here with her. It's been around a long time and for good reason. Come for the dogs, stay for the Italian Ice..

I just love this place. This place has one of the best hot dogs in town. Yummmmmy!! Love the Italian ice, too.

Neon green coming off of the relish is dying my hotdog bun was soggy, and the Definitely do not give enough fries. Still it all was tastey

I live in the area and everyone told me you gotta check out Ginas for hot dogs that are as good as Gene and Judes hotdogs. Upon my visit the place is really dingy inside I expected a little bit nicer looking of an establishment, but Gene and Judes also looks like crap but no one cares because their hotdogs are awesome!! On to the hot dog. Not bad had a nice smokyness to it it was not snappy, they put the fries on top just like Gene and Judes... but they put way less fries on the hotdog. One thing i did not care for was the neon dye that came off the relish.. it made the bun soggy green.. not super Appetizing. Are they better then gene and judes... No Are they still good... yes with some flaws Will I be back... yes Like I always say this is just my opinion I will check it out for yourself.

I was patently waiting for my Chicago dog when I was asked to move three times by some jagoff. I wasn't bothering anyone, they ended up refunding me and kept the tip. Fuck that Amex is getting a charge back. All I had was attitude from the staff. I get it your servicing thousands of passengers but no need to get as nasty as the staff did in causing necessary drama, because "Latisha" wanted to move a crowd around. That's a management problem. Just another example of why O'Hare is a joke and clearly the staff at this location could be trained better. If they cant get a Chicago dog out in less than 60 seconds, clearly they dont have the adequate motivation or financial backing to help them be successful. Skip this place, go to F concourse. I had a dog with in 3O seconds of ordering from the Blackhawk's place. All I wanted was a Chicago Dog, and this place failed on every level, such a basic item, they couldn't get right and reflects not only upon the management but the ownership. Employees don't give two shits and lost all compassion for what it is to be human.

Gold Coast Dogs at O'Hare is fantastic! It's always a gamble…read moregetting food at airports that their cities are known for. Well, I've been to Chi-town a lot and have eaten a lot of their dogs. I can happily say that Gold Coast is up there with the best. The poppy seed bun is a tad sweet and pillowy and it keeps its structure. Inside the beautiful bread is the glorious hot dog that's super juicy and mouthwatering. Topped properly as a Chicago dog should be with mustard, celery salt, pickle spears, tomato, short pepper, relish, and onion. Talk about flavor explosions in your mouth. Wow-wee! If you're flying out of the terminal where they're located, do yourself a favor and give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

So,…read morewhen in Chicago, I always try to hit a Portillos or someplace that has them and on this most recent visit I was too busy to get any while in town, so I ended up grabbing one here, at Gold Coast while about to fly out. I also equally love a good Italian Beef with spicy giardiniera, so I got one of those as well. The guy taking my order was friendly and when I asked which was better, he told me to go with the Italian Beef. I ultimately chose both and waited for them to be made, which only took a few minutes. Each sandwich comes with an order of fries, but I didn't want that many fries, but they don't sell them (or didn't offer them) without fries. When it came time to dive in... I started with the Chicago Dog and it looked decent, even with one sad slice of tomato across the center. It's supposed to have a small wedge of tomato inside it. The pickled green peppers were all at the back of the hot dog and there were only 2... so, I didn't get a bite of this until I got to that part of the hot dog. The rest of it was on-point! They even used a Vienna beef hot dog. When it came to the Italian Beef, I got the au jus on the side to dip and it came in a small cup, so I poured it onto the sandwich as I was eating it. Unfortunately, the beef was very dry, even though there was a LOT of it there and the spicy gardenia was basic and bland... I hardly noticed it was there. The bread was starchy and dense and not flavored well. Overall, this wasn't a very good Chicago Style Italian Beef sandwich. I really wanted to like this place, as it was my only hope for trying the basics on this visit, but I wasn't too impressed. If I needed to stop in here again in the future, I'll only go with the dog, definitely not the Italian Beef.
