This place makes me so happy. Despite the sterile feeling that comes from the perfectly arranged beautiful display of chocolates, the staff are always so inviting and hospitable. Terrific curbside pick up service during COVID. Checkout online was easy and communication was excellent. I ordered about a dozen boxes for work gifts. They even gave me a great sturdy burlap bag with a Fran's logo and a couple of chocolate samples for me to enjoy on the road. read more

Who doesn't love chocolate? Ok ok not all chocolate is equal that's for sure but I LOVE Fran's. I met a rep at an event just before Christmas and couldn't help but stock up on some Grey Salt Caramels among other chocolatey goodness for last minute gifts and stocking stuffers (yes you read that right! Gray salt caramels FTW. The smoked salt ones are good, too, but the dark chocolate on the gray salt caramels is a better balance to the sweet caramel and the salt than the milk chocolate is to the sweet caramel and the smoke salt. Wow....just wow! I first bought some for a special someone on Valentine's Day. They gave me a sample while I was there and I was like "wow...that's amazing". Simply the best. Located on a beautiful street in Bellevue this place is the perfect place to get a gift for anyone in your life or simply please your senses. The selection is amazing and the staff knows what they are talking about. You can come in and get straight forward solid chocolate truffles (don't expect them to be simple though, every flavor is masterfully crafted) or you can allow the staff to give recommendations and get your mind blown by unexpected, but simply incredible, flavor combinations. I am a big fan of dark chocolate, so this place was right up my street. As we entered, staff were friendly and handed out some free samples of chocolate. We tried the oolong tea dark chocolate truffle, I couldn't taste the flavour of tea in that truffle. However we decided to take a few truffles home anyway. We tried the orange, raspberry, white chocolate and the pure dark chocolate truffles, they were all, really good, with strong, flavours and a rich creamy texture, and dare I say it, better than Brugge our usual place for truffles. This is where you can finally buy quality chocolates compared to other businesses that pump out sugary, cheap chocolates. Fran started as a small business and through quality and perseverance, became touted as the best chocolatier in the U.S.! Customer service is also very excellent. My friends and I took the tour at their Georgetown location. Super fun and informative! After the tour (price for tour is $10 per person), we were given samples of their different chocolates. My favorites from buying different Fran's chocolates: espresso truffles (smooth with a touch of espresso), salted caramels (milk chocolate and/or dark chocolate), and finally my absolute favorite is their Valencia orange peel covered with dark chocolate (I've never experienced chocolate covered fruit with this type of high quality). Bumping my review up to 5 stars because of the outstanding customer I received today. I opened a box of caramels I had purchased and discovered what looked like a large hair across the top. It was stuck in the chocolate, so I know it wasn't mine. Fortunately, I needed to visit Fran's to get a few caramel hearts for Valentines Day, so returning to the store wasn't a hassle. The ladies working were SO nice about the situation. They told me it was actually a brush bristle (phew) but no, it should not be there. They quickly exchanged my box for a new one, then gave me a coupon for a free hot chocolate, as well as a little bag of extra samples. Sure, most places would react similarly (I hope), but I just really appreciated it regardless. read more

Milk chocolate items and all the caramels are AMAZING. Their dark chocolate is not exactly to my taste but still excellent quality, and my dark chocolate connaisseur relatives are huge, huge fans. Heart stoppingly expensive considering that their chocolates are on the small size compared to European chocolatiers (Leonidas, Jeff de Bruges, etc.) But worth it I would say! Don't get me wrong, I love Fran's chocolates, especially the Almond Gold Bar, but it includes corn syrup, soy lecithin, and beet sugar which are all most likely GMO. The company couldn't assure me that it ingredient sources are non-GMO, so I had to quit buying, and alas, eating Fran's. read more

Their chocolate is excellent, especially the truffles. I've also had their drinking chocolate, and it was delicious. The employees are always friendly and offer you a free sample. The oolong tea and raspberry flavors are very subtle. I prefer a bolder flavor like their ginger chocolate, which tastes just like ginger. I've been buying FRANs chocolates since 1982 when they came in a four-pack. Now my whole family loves them! The best around and they are local! Negative - the prices keep going up, up and up. I do love my chocolates, and this place is supposedly known for their chocolate covered caramels. When I went to Seattle, I knew I had to try them and see what all the hype was about. To be honest, I was kind of underwhelmed. The taste was good, but nothing really spectacular. They are these delicate, bite sized pieces for about $2 each. I love Fran's chocolates and truffles! It's the best chocolates I had ever have in my life. Seriously. We don't come here often because it's expensive - almost $2.00 per piece. However, the texture and sweetness makes up for the price. No other chocolate companies can mimic their creations. You can order online and have it shipped if you choose.
