It was love at first scoop! We were completely over the (Molly) moon! Molly Moon's is a local Seattle ice cream chain. From the cute, friendly branding and store to the long lines out front, it was all more than enough to draw us in. We got their Matcha Strawberry (a seasonal flavor) and Scout Mint Brownie. As a side note: every single flavor we sampled was divine. It was so hard to choose! The Matcha Strawberry actually tasted like its name. The green tea flavor was strong with bright notes of strawberry. The Scout Mint Brownie is probably my favorite rendition of a mint chocolate chip. The mint was fresh and bright with no green artificial coloring in sight. It came with generously sized chunks of brownies incorporated throughout. So good! The texture of Molly Moon's is stretchy and chewy which I appreciate. Our new go-to ice cream spot! read more

Molly Moon's has 12 locations around Seattle and supports the local community through fundraising to "fight hunger, support public education, empower women & girls (HEY Girl Scouts of America!), advocate for workers, celebrate the arts, and promote equity." Standard flavors & rotating seasonals have the line running out the door, and this was the longest I've waited in line for a kids' scoop, but likely due to the hot spot location across from Bellevue Park, a gloriously manicured open space. I've been to this Molly Moon's several times, and I've finally run out of patience. I have noticed something wrong 4 times out of the last 5 visits, which I think is a pretty bad rate. The ice cream is always delicious, but the staff here don't seem very well trained. Visit 1: We saw our server scoop the wrong flavor into our cup, realize that she scooped the wrong flavor, scoop that ice cream back into the source container, then scoop the correct flavor into the same cup (instead of discarding the old cup). I get that it's ice cream, but I feel that if the wrong ice cream flavor touches your cup, you should get a new cup in case you have a strong dislike of the incorrect flavor. Visit 2: We got our ice cream and were eating it while walking away, when we encountered a mint flavor inside our ice cream. The only problem: the flavor that we ordered had no mint. This makes me suspect that the staff are not doing a good job cleaning out the scooping tools in between flavors. Visit 3: After I paid for my ice cream, I wanted my receipt. However, when the tablet showed the receipt options, the server immediately pressed the no receipt option. After I told him that I wanted my receipt, he said that particular tablet cannot pull up old receipts, and I would have to wait until another tablet opened up. I ended up waiting 10-15 minutes just to get my receipt, and in the end, the manager came over and was able to send me a email copy of the receipt from the original tablet, which I was fine with from the start. This particular visit was a very frustrating experience - I should not have to wait that long just to get my receipt, all because the server incorrectly assumed that I did not need mine. The staff members should also be trained to retrieve and send receipts if the customers ask for them. Visit 4: Thankfully, this was a pleasant time. We came with our voting stickers, and received free scoops of ice cream. Pretty cool program that Molly Moon's has. Visit 5: The most recent time, I came in to buy a pint. I really like the system that Salt & Straw has where the pint fridge is next to the cashier, and if you get a pint, you don't have to wait in line. I got confirmation from the staff at Molly Moon's that they have a similar policy, but I first had to wait in line to get to the pint fridge, since the pint fridge is in the inner corner of the store, right next to where the line snakes around. Then, once I got my pint, I went up to the cashier, but they don't have anyone stationed there, so I had to wait for the staff members to finish helping their current customers. This ended up taking me 3-5 minutes of standing around with the melting pint. This store should have a better system for people who are just purchasing pints, such as relocating the pint fridge or stationing someone at the cashier. Overall, I've been disappointed by this location too many times now, and I hope that they improve the way they run the store. read more

When we arrived, there was a line out the door, which is always a good sign when you're craving ice cream. The shop itself is super cute and smells absolutely divine. MOLLY MOON'S @ BELLEVUE Parking here is honestly pretty crappy. It's mostly street parking unless you decide to park at Bellevue Square Mall or in the small parking lot by Downtown Park. Other than that, street parking is available and free for two hours. There is parking right out front of Molly Moon's, as well as a parking garage, but that one charges by the hour, so just keep that in mind. I've actually never been to Molly Moon's before, so I was really excited to finally check it out. The smell alone is incredible, even if you're just walking by, you can smell their freshly made waffle cones. They make them daily, and it honestly smells amazing. I loved how many flavors they had, from classic basics to more unique and creative options. I came in with a friend, and I will say the ice cream is definitely on the pricier side. I paid about $10 for two scoops with brownies and toppings, but let me tell you, it was 100% worth it. Everything tasted incredible. The staff was also super friendly, which made the experience even better. The space itself is on the smaller side with only a few seats inside. Once the weather gets nicer, I'd definitely recommend grabbing your ice cream and walking over to Downtown Park to enjoy it there. Overall, I would absolutely come back. Long lines are frequent, but we got lucky and was able to place our order pretty quickly. The server was friendly, and was generous with the scoops. Sharing (as long as you don't mind mixing flavors) can definitely save some money, so the three of ordered a triple scoop ($10.95) and found some counter space inside. Molly Moon is proud of paying their employees a 'living wage' and no tips are accepted. It's all about the unique flavors, with each homemade variation providing a very STRONG representation of the called out choice. There are eleven 'always' flavors, and we chose two of them: Scout Mint Brownie and Yeti (granola). We added a seasonal flavor: cherry limeade sorbet. It is definitely gourmet ice cream, very thick and complete absence of ice crystals...this is fresh ice cream for sure (all batches made on-site). All three of us really liked the Mint, my daughter enjoyed the Yeti, and we couldn't finish the Cherry (tasted like cherry jam, too strong for our palates). Molly Moon is the place that locals will take their out of town guests if ice cream is craved, and continues to be popular. Ninety percent of their ingredients are sourced from the Pacific Northwest, and everything is either local, organic, or fair trade. Many ingredients check two of those boxes. The quality really shines through, and you can taste it in every bite of the ice cream. There's usually a line, but it tends to move quickly. We went around 8 p.m. on a sunny Saturday night and waited about 15 minutes. The staff made sure each group was taken care of efficiently, and we were able to sample a few flavors. It never felt rushed. Molly Moon's offers both seasonal and classic flavors. My husband and I shared a seasonal cherry cheesecake sundae with hot fudge. I had Molly Moon's a long time ago in Seattle and have always wanted to go back to try it again as I truly think this is one of Washington's best ice cream spots. I love that they have monthly seasonal flavors and the fact you can get half a scoop of a flavor and another half of another flavor. It's so convenient for indecisive or adventurous taste buds to try out their flavors or to enjoy one that you just can't say no to. My boyfriend and I just happened to be passing by as we just finished dinner and I saw that there was a Molly Moon's, and I told him that we had to go as he also never has tried them. The line was out the door but the employees were working efficient to ensure that the line kept moving. My boyfriend got us a waffle bowl which I never had and I got their strawberry shortcake and cookies and cream while he got the German chocolate cake and cookie dough. The ice cream was decadent and delightful. Each bite had little fillings of their respective names and it was just as amazing as when I first had them. They had seats and tables inside as well as outside which was nice as we had our dogs with us. I would love to see more Molly Moon's in Tacoma, Kent, Renton or even Tukwila as it is just so far to get any. Until then, I suppose the best way is to get in Bellevue as my boyfriend abhors driving in Seattle. read more

On the always flavor menu, we tried the cookies & cream + honey lavender. On the "seasonal flavors" menu, we tried the churro + strawberry shortcake. Out of the bunch, I enjoyed the strawberry shortcake the most - the strawberry flavor wasn't too strong but it was just enough to get the flavors blended in with the creamy ice cream. I wasn't so much a fan of the other flavors we selected - the cookies & cream were not oreo's as normal and I found that it lacked flavor. There was a huge line out the door, but we were able to get inside reasonably quickly. I ended up getting one scoop, two flavors: the seasonal cherry chunk and the cookie dough. The cookie dough is made of cinnamon ice cream, which I've never seen before, and the cookie dough pieces are oatmeal, which I've also never seen before. All of that combined made this amazing. I'm usually not a cookie dough person, and this was such a hit for me. The cherry chunk was also delicious. I'm a big cherry garcia fan, and this was reminiscent of that. This scoop was also insanely generous. SO much ice cream in this one scoop, it's absolutely unseen and unheard of by me. Love this local ice cream shop. They treat their employees like no one I know, no tipping because Molly moon take cares of their happiest employees, that's their policy. Love this! I feel like now everywhere you go you are expected to tip.., but not this place! All of their ingredients are sourced locally, hence why they won't franchise outside of Washington, too bad because o really would love to see this place in L.A. The best vegan ice cream hands down, thank you! For people like me who can still enjoy ice due to dietary restrictions. There always seems to be a long line whenever I walk by, though the lines move at a reasonable pace. The service inside was efficient and the staff were very nice. Samples of flavors are allowed. Strawberry: A really nice subtle flavor of strawberry, which was not too sweet at all. The texture of the ice cream was very soft, pretty much melted in your mouth. Corn Cheese (March 2023 Seasonal Flavor): Loved the corn pieces and the sweet corn flavor. The cheese bits were also interesting, though I wished they were cut a bit smaller in this ice cream. The ice cream here is delicious, the base flavor sweet cream is the best I've ever had and goes perfectly with any topping! I recommend the Yeti or cookie dough in a waffle cone . The salted caramel is also good but beware it's much saltier than other ice creams! The service is always amazing even if it's hot and busy and the ambiance is always very friendly! read more
