Overhyped - I've been looking forward to trying this place, only to be let down. Started with the meatballs app - which were good but $20 for 2 small meatballs should be a crime. We also had the charcuterie board which was amazing and well worth it. The guys I were with both each got a caesar salad which looked standard. And the for the masterpiece - the Tomahawk steak. OVER RATED. I would have gave it two stars but the charcuterie was worth the extra star. I don't believe i'll be back for a meal here. Strangest experience I've ever had... definitely would not call this "fine dining". Double charged me, unprofessional & false information! Went here for a friends birthday last weekend and was very disappointed. Waiter said his name was Frank and check said David... he gave us weird vibes from the moment we sat down but didn't expect a false name lol. Has a lot of potential but the price to portion ratio is awful. Came here for the first time during my best friends birthday primarily because they were one of the only, if not the ONLY, restaurant still serving dinner past 11 pm. So the place was packed & the tables are very close together. So the ambiance is a bit confusing but also has the potential to be really nice! The esthetic is really nice and pleasing to the eye. We ordered the zucchini flowers as an appetizer and this is where things got really disappointing. We were a party of 4 and the $23 zucchini flower appetizer only included 3 INCREDIBLY TINY pieces. WOW! Not only was the taste lacking but the size of those flowers were basically microscopic! The app also included a few fried pieces of zucchini- which was AMAZING. The sauce that they plated the zucchini flowers on was delicious! We also grabbed the white pizza with figs and arugula & I really loved it! The only reasonably priced items on the menu were the pizza's! We also ordered a margarita pizza & it wasn't bad- nothing special. Pizza came out immediately which was a huge plus! The service erred on the side of awful. We somehow got in and was seated really quickly which was amazing so we proceeded to order immediately because it was so late and we were all starving! The waiter had zero personality. He never once asked how the food was nor did he ever come to check on us! I was shocked! Unacceptable. Every time we needed something we had to flag him down! We needed napkins at one point but he was nowhere to be found- So disappointing. So overall this place needs work. Service needs major improvement. The food has such a potential to be really good like their sauces were amazing, the white fig and arugula pizza was amazing and innovative! Came in on Memorial Monday. Mostly I wanted a drink and a bite. Sat at a bar high top. The place wasn't very busy at the time, probably I was there before dinner rush and Celtics game. The waitress seemed pretty inexperienced, and maybe a little bored or unhappy to be working. She was polite, but not friendly, and missed a lot of service points. The food was good, my drink took quite awhile to arrive, and the bar was not busy. Bread did not arrive. I had to ask the guy who brought my food for bread. Waitress did not check in. When I finished eating, waitress still hadn't checked in, and when she finally did I asked for an espresso and the check. My espresso was served without a spoon or sugar, I like a little sugar. She gave me the check, no smile. I paid with a large bill, which took awhile, and when the change was brought to me, again no smile or thank you. The host staff were also unsmiling. The only person who smiled and seemed hospitable was the bartender, I should have sat at the bar instead of the high top. Their staff needs better training. read more

Been here a few times over past few years. Disappointed every time. Yesterday ordered a 30 dollar meatball pasta and the pasta noodles were extremely undercooked. Our "waitress" never came by once during the meal and then when we finally had to ask where she was to another staff member at the end of the meal where she was, she came over and asked why we didn't say anything earlier and felt like she was just blaming us. We ate the meatballs which weren't out of this world either but the pasta noodles were untouched and the waitress acted like it was our fault. She gave us a small shooter of some strange mixed drink which now looking back I'm worried is some set up punishment but I really just wanted someone to acknowledge how awfully undercooked the noodles were (close to crunchy) and I love al dente pasta and apologize. The cocktails were the only good part of the meal. My previous orders of food were extremely disappointing every time especially for the price that everything is set at. Terrible service from last night really made Fratellis intolerable and will never go back again. read more

Delicious but pricey. It's impossible to get to the casino especially on a weekend evening given all of the traffic and a tough parking situation. The food was excellent. This was one of the most memorable evenings for us @ Fertellis, Encore, Boston. The food was wonderful. Not really an Italian food fan, but at this joint, the food was not over salted, and very tasty. Met the chef to let him know how wonderful our meals were. Now, the bar staff! We do not remember their names, but shown in the photos. Both women were lovely, attentive, personable and fun. They surprised us with a birthday cake and even sang Happy Birthday. Fratelli is one of the area's best Italian dining spots. They have a good level of service, a decent cocktail and wine list, and excellent food. The complimentary bread here was very nice and accompanied by olive oil and sea salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper. The Chicken Parmesan is a great dish. As it should be, the chicken was pounded thin and had a crispness to the breading while not getting sogged down in too much sauce. The tomato sauce (gravy) was pretty good too. The accompanying pasta, which was penne, was cooked to a proper al dente and tasty. I do wish that instead of serving it with Parmesan cheese on top they grated that table side, though. While the price point here is higher than other Italian spots, they do not skimp out on portions and you will not leave hungry. read more

Dined here for the first time last night to celebrate my friend's birthday. We started out with the Calamari & Fritto Misto appetizer and it was excellent. Lightly battered & super tender with an amazing lemony aioli sauce. For my entree I chose the seafood risotto (shrimp, scallops, calamari, salmon & sea bass). It was delicious & the portion size was way bigger than I expected. My boyfriend got the 7 spice chicken w/ double mashed potatoes. I couldn't stop sampling bites of the mashed, SO good. The birthday girl went with Lobster Fra' Diavolo mild & it still had a quite a kick. And her husband had Tagliolini w/ meatballs. We split tiramisu for dessert & it was fantastic. I took one star off because the prices are on the high side & the acoustics of the room made it a little hard to have a conversation. But overall we really enjoyed it! read more

Me and my girlfriend have been to hundreds of restaurants over the years. This experience was something else. The food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the seafood Linguine. My girlfriend ordered the ravioli and she said it was the best she has ever had. My hats off to the Chef in that restaurant. Well done indeed. What made the experience even better was our waiter Jake. Talk about a man that is good at his job. His personality and knowledge of the menu was impeccable. Really personable individual and any restaurant should be proud to have an employee like him. Getting service like that makes all the difference in a restaurant. I'm surprised by the number of lower end reviews as our meal at Fratilli was nothing more than spectacular. Our server was constantly attentive to our needs and the quality of the food was beyond expectations. We started with the Caesar salad and the Bibb lettuce couldn't have been any fresher. Our main course was the Chicken Parmigiana and it certain did not disappoint. It was not "sauced" enough, but the waitress rapidly provided more pomodoro sauce. We felt that the closeness of the tables and loud voices, of one table trying to out talk the other, part of the ambiance. A proto-typical Italian restaurant where everyone is treated as family. Fratelli hits the mark as to what one should expect in an Italian eatery. Yes, it is pricey and not being from Boston I expect you can find equal quality at lower prices. Yet this location is in a five-star hotel and as such you should expect prices to reflect the location. Obviously you are not going here to expect Olive Garden prices! We will be back to Encore Boston Harbor and our first reservation will be made at Fratelli. read more

Had a large group dinner here a few nights ago. I arrived early and got a drink at the bar. BAR: When I was looking at the cocktail menu I felt like it was expensive, but the bartender told me "we don't have well liquor here, everything is top shelf." Cool, if I'm paying high end prices I expect high end quality so sure. I asked to see the full liquor list to see what they had. At a glance, I could not see a single bottle of rum and none were listed on the list. The bartender told me "we have Bacardi, Captain Morgans, and some other one..." Took them a bit to find the bottle, it was a Ron Zacapa, which is a pretty decent rum. I would have preferred a little more selection (Foursquare would have been nice), and not to have a bartender try and claim that Bacardi or Captain Morgans are 'top shelf.' At a bar charging these prices, I would have expected a MUCH higher overall quality. Any who, my Rum Old Fashion cost $29. Cool. Keep in mind that it looks like the reviews that are positive are talking about this places 'espresso martini' which isn't exactly a beacon of excellence for a bar program. RESTAURANT: Sat at the table and luckily had great company. Our server was really nice as well. The appetizers we ordered were eh; charcuterie plates were average at best and overpriced. For some reason they include a shot glass filled with fig jam as well as a few random raspberries... Dinners were around $30-60 and I think were generally average overall. Most of the serving ratios were on the small side. I have to hand it to Nick Verano, I didn't think you could screw up a chicken parm with such grace. Let's talk about the $37 "a north end classic" Chicken Parm: The breading was almost like a 'beer batter' which created a soggy outside with an unpleasant taste and look. The chicken wasn't pounded thin, so each bite was inconsistent. The chicken had a 'previously frozen' texture that left parts chewy. The cheese on the outside was depressing. The dry smear of pesto on the plate was...odd. The penne served on the side tasted like dried pasta that was clearly not house made... $37 and they can't even serve a decent house made pasta? The sauce wasn't terrible at least, maybe they at least make that in house? If I had paid $12 for this dish I still would have thought I overpaid. All in all I would come here if you have some kind of 'comp' from the casino that can only be used here or if an enemy got you a groupon or something. This food is trash and it's incredibly overpriced. The bar program is a joke and overpriced. Our server was great though and I hope one day I can have him again at a good restaurant.
