This is probably the worst place I've ever been!! was traveling through town decided to make a stop here and grab a bite. As I got my food it was not even hot it was luke warm and not very tasty I had to wait on my sweet tea to be refilled forever until this nice lady who wasn't even my server topped me off. We were seated in the bar room dining area so it wasn't hard to see that my cup was empty . But ahhhh then I noticed what appeared to be the owners wife behind the bar drinking alcohol while working now this just topped off this fine dining experience with a fat negative review poor customer service in my opinion there on a whole other level of sh**tyy service!!! This is my favorite restaurant in the area. I love the food. Fratelli's has special dishes that never disappoint; my favorite special was the bbq brisket with cole slaw. I am in the area for business and both the locals and Yelp reviews raved about this place. It is just around the corner from my corporate housing, so I thought I'd try it. I've done so twice so far. The first time I got lasagna and the second time I got a calzone and calamari. The lasagna came with a house salad and some uniquely shaped bread sticks. The salad and bread sticks were good. The lasagna was awful. It was dry and lacked much tomato sauce. Also, it was seasoned strangely. The second time I came I decided to go with something different. The calzone was huge. The dough/bread was fresh, but again the cheese filling was seasoned strangely. The calamari was good and fresh. It wasn't rubbery. The marinara sauce was too spicy for my tastes. Way over priced, the food is extremely inconsistent and honestly just not the quality place people from around here claim it to be. The meatballs taste of nothing but garlic,overpowering!,all the seafood comes frozen no matter what they tell you. I just wouldn't invest my time and money into trying this place. They have the best pizza in the area. I love the Italian veggie. The crust is authentic hand style. Very close to NY style crust but not as chewy which is fine with me. Limited but decent wine list. Good service and moderate prices. My Small pizza and two glasses of wine were 21.00. The crab cakes are also excellent. read more

I ordered takeout tonight (Friday, January 22 at about 5:30 PM) and was told it would be ready in about 20 to 25 minutes. I showed up after about 30 minutes, paid, and waited for an additional 45 minutes without ever getting my order. All I ordered was a salad, cup of soup, and an appetizer.... No effort to correct or amend the situation, just told me that the kitchen was backed up and they were "doing their best". However while standing there for 45 minutes, I watched as many other dine in and carry out patrons who came after me received their meals. Did not request refund and did not get the food. Will never go back. And now it's after 7 PM and I am starving and will likely have another wait at another establishment to finally procure a meal. Horrible service for takeout. And you would think that during a pandemic they would have finessed that service....??? We love to support local small businesses, but we aren't comfortable eating inside. So we do takeout. Unfortunately, I can't support a small business that is HORRIBLE at providing takeout. read more

Their Salads, Pasta, Pizza, and Steak could not be any better. By far the best in Cumberland. The Pizza a great when served hot, cold, or reheated in the toaster oven, so be sure to order the largest one they have. Their Steaks are as good as it gets.... period. They use top quality meat and cook it to perfection. I usually special order mine Blackened but not Blue (Black and Blue is the actual menu option). Excellent Food and reasonable prices at this fine Italian restaurant. Entrees are served with homemade breadsticks that are the best I've ever had and a house salad with homemade vinagrette dressing. We chose this place based on customer reviews, all of whom were local. We couldn't help but notice that the wait staff was on a first-name basis with most of the clientele if not all, with us being the only exception. My husband got the black and blue steak and enjoyed it, but my seafood pasta was terrible. The noodles were over-cooked and topped with a very small portion of seafood. The lettuce in the salad was soggy. The food wasn't the worst part though; the service was. Apparently, unless you are a local, you are not welcome. We were essentially ignored by our server. She took 20 minutes to even take our order, never stopped back to check-in on our food or refill our glasses. We ordered a bottle of wine and she didn't even pour it or bother to ask if it was ok. Then she had the audacity to highlight the 20% gratuity line (the bill provides you with 15%, 18% and 20% figures). When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told, "She's the owner's cousin. I love this place! This place has one of the best crab cakes I have ever had. Everything from Fratelli's is frickin awesome. It's a little spendy but the portions are huge and the food is amazing. My dad is the pickiest eater I know and even he loves the food here. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp diablo once and he said it was spicy but he loves lots of spice so he was a little disappointed by that. Other people have told me they found it too spicy. My husband and I ate there last night for my birthday. The place came highly recommended by a friend that absolutely loves the place. Atmosphere was okay, but the scent if Italian food in the making did not greet us as we entered the oddly large foyer. Our timing was good and we were seated right away. When my dish arrived I tried the pasta and sauce first. It had a nice kick to it. The mussels were okay but my second bite of scallop was gritty. Next I took a bite from the large shrimp. Besides the grit, there was a very off taste bordering on spoiled. Definitely past it's prime! I spit the bite out into my napkin and was done. I told our server about the shrimp and asked to send the dish away. I was offered something else but by this point I was just done. My husband had a great potato but his crab cake, just like the crab dip, was bland and tasted of canned crab, fillers and whitefish. If there was any true jumbo lump meat in there it was well hidden. So, perhaps this place is not tops for seafood. But to add insult to injury, after subtracting my returned entree, the management charged me $8 for the salad portion of the meal that I had eaten, yet the price of a single salad is only $6 in the menu! While my friend swears by the dishes that she loves (none of which were our choices) I could be persuaded to give them a second try for their steaks.... the aroma of which taunted us as we were getting into our car to head to the Creamery for a much needed dessert. read more

My girlfriend and I ate there this evening. It was my first time there and I was NOT impressed. I had the meat lasagna and she had there spaghetti. The bread came first and then the salad.. they were actually not bad. My gf complained to me that the bread was too done on the bottom. The waitress told my Gf that the spaghetti had a hint of nutmeg in it.. but it definitely had more than a hint.. it's all I could taste when she asked me to try it. I was in Cumberland, (My home town) on vacation. I come up and stay with good friends of many years every year usually within the 1st two weeks of August. We (The 3 of us) had dinner here Saturday night the 6th. All three of us ordered the crab leg dinner. Came complete with fresh baked garlic bread,salad of choice (House or Caesar) and one side. My side was the garlic and butter sauteed mushrooms which were fantastic.(Oh yah, my Caesar salad was good as well) Then the server comes out with three dishes overflowing with LARGE crab clusters. 4 clusters on each plate. The drawn butter, whole nine yards. The legs were steamed to perfection and were absolutely delicious! All for the price of $27.00 !! R U freakin' kidding me ?? I've been living in Jacksonville, Florida now for 32 years and there is not a place in this entire city you'll find that good of a crab leg dinner for that price. Wait staff was on point as well. And btw, this was not the first time I've eaten here either. Totally unbiased write up here as in I have no family or friends working here or affiliated with it at all for that matter.
