This was an okay eatery in Slidell. Dim lighting, good ambiance, no complaints about the atmosphere. It's decent, just nothing to write home about. We tried a Seafood combo #1, which was... surprising. It was a white wine sauce with clams, mussels, and shrimp over angel hair pasta. The surprising part was that it used what was really more of a broth than a sauce. The dish was more like a noodle soup, which was unexpected. The flavor was good though! I wouldn't order it again since I don't usually order pasta expecting a soup, but it wasn't bad! We also got the linguini carbonera. It used ham though; usually, I'd prefer pancetta, but thought I could give it a try anyway. This dish wasn't bad, but it was also a bit disappointing. Using ham for the dish did it the most disservice. Ham doesn't have enough fat content to add flavor to the dish. They also did not use enough aged cheese, instead, they used heavy cream to compensate for it. A lot of restaurants do this to cut down on costs, but it truly affects the quality of the dish. Without enough cheese, the flavor was not deep enough. However, the cream added plenty of richness. We tried the Supreme Pizza. It was good! The crust was perfect, and it was loaded with toppings and mozzerella cheese. A no frills standard pizza! read more

Fratelli's opened a restaurant here in Picayune Mississippi around the first of 2025. The wife and I stopped in for dinner the first time April 9 and have gone back many of times since. The food was delicious and the Pizza was excellent. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was decorated nicely with Italian music playing I. The background but not so loud that you had to talk loud to hear over it. If you want great Italian food with great atmosphere , try Fratelli's of Picayune in the old Don's restaurant on Hwy. 11. This has been a really nice place for us. We have been coming here for a long time and have always had good experiences. During the pandemic we got takeout from here and all was well. It's quiet, there's always some Italian violin music playing, the vibe is fairly calm and not rushed. Not quite "romantic" like Lady & the Tramp sharing a plate of spaghetti and definitely not a noisy loud Olive Garden but somewhere in between. It feels like the kind of place you should dress up to go to, but the dress code is casual. Wear a tie, wear a t-shirt, it doesn't matter. The servers are attentive and friendly. Cloth napkins and heavy weight silverware and utensils are a nice touch that makes the experience nicer. The decor is very plain. Overall it feels like it should be fancier than it really is. Atmosphere aside, the real draw is the food. The menu has a variety of dishes you don't see just anywhere, even at the neighborhood restaurants that New Orleans and the surrounding area is known for. I understand that the owners are really from Italy so, if that is true, the dishes must be authentic to some degree. I dearly love pasta with white clam sauce and the only places I ever find that dish in the South have been authentic Italian so that's probably a good clue. My wife defaults to the Chicken Piccata every time. I love the baked dishes (ziti, manicotti, lasagna) when I don't get the white clam sauce. The pizza and calzones are very good. read more

Went to dinner with my mom and this was a lovely experience. From the yummy complimentary garlic rolls, to our entrees (chicken Marsala and lasagna/manicotti/baked ziti), to our delicious tiramisu. The place is cozy. Met a friend for lunch, she said she and her husband go here and haven't had a bad meal yet. I ordered the Veal & Shrimp Ala Cream over angel hair pasta. Once again, this was one of those occasions where I wish that Yelp! gave you the ability to issue half stars. Because I felt that this place was better than three but not quite up to a four. The ambiance was okay as you walk in, music which was a little predictable but on the whole alright, decor which was minimal but sufficient. I ordered the Chicken Marsala as a sort of standard dish. It was preceded by an unimaginative salad which consisted of lettuce on top of which was perched a single tomato slice and one red onion ring. That was it. If I had left at that point it would have been a rough review. However out came the Chicken Marsala to save the day! It was very nice, especially the mushrooms, and that moved things in a more favorable direction. And the bread rolls with Parmesan crust that were warm and generously supplied kicked it up a notch. Our table service was very prompt and professional and that added to the whole experience. So - all in - I'm going with three stars. But if a subsequent trip is better or equally good to this one - I might Be lifting the rating a bit. Go check this place out. Definitely worth read more

Service. Efficient. Dining room. Clean, elegant, modern. It's clear the owner cares about the business but I was really let down by the food. Ordered focaccia and was given Italian sfilatino (think subway sandwich bread or a french baguette) with whole tomato and a lot of melted mozzarella. It's 2022. There are Americans that know the difference between things like this now. If you don't want to make or use focaccia then don't offer it on your menu. Salad was delivered with "Italian" dressing. I wasn't made aware it was a house Italian and may be very different than what I'm used to. What was delivered was a very berry-red chutney-like dressing that reeked of sugar. I called the boy over who was "like totally" American as college football and led with "That's REAL Italian. Americans like your Italian dressing too sweet." I didn't argue and just got ranch. The house dressing here is definitely far more sugary than grocery store Italian of OIL and VINEGAR with herbs. Our meals were very very very very very heavy in sauce and cheese. To the point of the pasta being invisible and indistinguishable. My fellow diner had to take cheese off for fear of choking on that much cheese. What 30 year old worries about too much cheese unless it's an ungodly amount? The "focaccia" and the pasta was also overpowered with basil. The meals, at least today, have a balance problem. I love Italian restaurants. When the food is good. Ate at an excellent one this year in Colorado every other week; Di Rito's. Wonderful food. Here the atmosphere was 100%. Service 95%. Please read the following review before eating here: When I was looking at the ratings for Italian restaurants , this was the best one. When we walked in it looked packed which was a good sign! It went downhill from the time I ordered my food. I ordered Cannelloni; which I had at many other fine Italian restaurants. When I got my food it was absolutely awful, it was just Burnt cheese with noodles and microscopic pieces of meat. I ended up sending it back. The waitress tried to explain that it was because it was a low price; ( I would honestly just send more money to get the real thing) I ended up ordering spaghetti and meatballs which was good.
