The first time we tried this restaurant for takeout it was not so good to be honest but after talking with the manager Steve he has went above to make us happy, including refunding is for our orders and getting me a drink on the house for my 21st birthday when we went back to give them a second chance. Fresh into town and excited to actually go into a bar for a drink but starving as well. The website doesn't really say much about any food but does say it's a grill so we were hopeful as there was nothing else open. We ate and drank here twice during our vacation from 2/15/19 to 3/2/19. Both times the food and service were fantastic! The second time was a rainy afternoon. The place was standin room only. We went there on a Sunday night. The bartenders were very helpful in choosing drinks and food. So friendly-they make you feel like you are there all the time! I had the Rueben which was excellent. My wife had the grouper tacos and she said they were great! The atmosphere was fantastic and they had live music. Not what I expected for a Sunday night. read more

My husband and I went here last night for the first time to have a few drinks and something to eat. He ordered a Captain and Diet Coke and I ordered a glass of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay. My husband's drink was mostly soda, two ice cubes and a splash of rum. My wine was definitely not Kendall Jackson and I questioned it (I drank this wine for 20 years). My husband asked the bartender to double the rum and she dumped it in a bigger glass and added more soda and a splash of rum. We put $20 on the bar and stood up - leaving our full drinks there. She handed us the bill - it was $19 and change. Too bad. We go out often and drop at least $100 and tip well, but I know my husband will never go here again if they can't make a drink and bait and switch wine. read more

I stopped in here for a few beers and to watch the Rays beat the Yankees, which they did with a walk-off Home Run. I ended up hanging out for a few more beers cause the bartender was fantastic, I mean this guy working the outside bar let it all hang out. He was tossing the tablets they use to collect payment on the ground, against walls, and anywhere else he could pitch that piece of junk. My best guess is that its 50% the streaming not working well on the tablets in the bar and this guy not being the best with technology, but either way he was entertaining as all get out. I mean this broski was ready to throw down. He was sweaty and cursing up a storm under his breath the entire time I was there. I will say though, he was a friendly mofo. He seemed to know everyone who walked in and was a smooth operator with the customers. In addition, he was moving around a lot and working for them tips. Seems like he just wanted to provide really fast, responsive service overall. I rank this place high because I found him really entertaining and genuine. I know if the owner reads this he will know who I am talking about. Don't fire this bloke, just let him run the show outside, fast n loose. I would first like to start out saying the food is great! We ordered the St. Patrick's Day pizza and it was nothing short of delicious! I also had the Irish mashed potatoes and they were so good! But on a negative note, the service was less the adequate. Our waitress was drinking on the job and the entire time we were eating she was talking to another customer behind the bar. They originally told us to seat ourselves and then proceeded to not even give us our menus until 10 minutes later. I would definitely rate it 5 stars if the service improved. read more

BE WARE!!! If you go to the Freckled Fin please keep track of your bill. Went there last night and My friend was charged for a total stranger's bill. She met him when she both realized the mix up and management was not willing to make it right! Once in a while the cocktails can cloud your judgement. That's why the wait staff should have your back. She tried to contact the General Manager and She is waiting for Steve Shannon to contact her. He works in a few days. She is disputing these charges with Chase. Very unorganized. We waited a long time to be acknowledged. So we left and went to another establishment where seated on both sides of us were two other couples who also left Freckled Fin for the same reasons. We all agreed that ordering your meal at the bar was something not many people want to do when eating out. I cant tell you how the food is but it worked out good as where we ended up was awesome as far as service and food. So now i will write that restaurant a positive review they deserve. read more

Ok, so Labor Day weekend was a struggle for this entire area with Red tide scaring most vacationing people away. With that being said, I'm sure that the servers at restaurants in the area were not doing well, we went to the Freckled Finn for our second time in the past couple of months. We were very aware of the service set up of ordering from the bar and seating ourselves. As with the last trip someone actually came to the table and took our drink orders ( very reluctantly) and said he'd be back with the order, the fella never gave his name so all I can do is describe him as very short white guy with eyeglasses and a full beard. We are not a picky group and don't need codling, so ( Dude ) shows up and continues with crap attitude about everything we asked. This continues through out the whole dinner, even when the very nice food runner showed up with the completely wrong order for several of us. The server never once acknowledged the mistake, then came time for us to pay up. I nicely asked to have the bill split down the middle, you'd thought I asked for the meals to be free, he did this via the iPad and never gave us the receipt. After discussing this with the other half of our party of 6, I'm sure we were charged for the food that was ordered incorrectly. Of course I have no proof due to not having the receipt, and after seeing several other reviews it sounds like this has happened a few times. Good luck guys, hopefully you can get some better servers, on a higher note the food was decent. read more

Watch your tabs!!! Especially if you're not a local. We left there feeling like family and got the bill of $54. Got our statement and we were double charged on our account $109. Being a service industry person myself, when my friend got his tab, our bartender said she would throw away the receipt...got "that feeling." Stopped back in and explained the situation and cash was refunded. Great place and we had a great time. Lots of laughs. This would have been a 5+ star review, however I'd double check your charges upon leaving town or throwing away that receipt. Food and drinks were great. read more

Our first impression was the red lighting gave everyone at the table headaches and we cheered when they dimmed it down. Our server was constantly forgetting what we'd tell him. He forgot our appetizer and we had to ask him multiple times for the check. Overall the food was just ok but horrible service. Band was awful. Picture two guys doing karaoke with calypso keyboard music in an Irish bar. My wife's sandwich was very good but my appetizer just so-so. When we got the bill there was a 50 cent additional line charge next to my wife's wine. I asked the waitress about it and she didn't know. She checked, came back and said it was a cover charge for the band and only applied to that wine and Killian's...huh? Regardless, there was no disclosure up front and about 49 cents too much. Horrible service! Brought my family in from Ireland no one came to our table so we sat for 25 mins! We finally got up ordered drinks at the bar then got menus and went up to the bar and ordered our own food! After waiting 45 mins with no food and glasses empty a group of four people sat at the table beside ours and in 2 seconds flat the bartender practically jumped over the bar to serve them all laughs and giggly asking them if the want drinks food etc! Then they turned our game off for them! After an hour we finally got our food and imagine we had to go up to the bar to pay our bill. You can slap a couple of pictures on the wall and call it an Irish bar but this is not how your treated in a real Irish bar totally felt invisible and will never go here again! read more

Watch your bill closely. Bartender presented bill with just total. 67.00. This was after my friend paid his bill and was waiting outside. I said this is too much and asked how much my yuenglings were. 4.50 x 3. I only had two. I order fish and chips called one on one. I was charged 3 dollars extra for a side of fries were included. I was also charged for my friends shepard pie. So when asked and was shown the actual breakdown my real bill was 26.00. One of the bartenders then told me my friend was undercharged and I could just pay the difference. I refused. In the mean time my friend came back in looking for me. The bartender then tried to get him to pay for the shepard pie that came off my bill and my friend said he already paid for it and his drinks. Finally the bar manager got involved and let us pay for what we actually consumed and apologized for the OVERCHARGING by the mistaken bartenders. Moral. Don't just pay the total look for the itemized charges so the bartenders can just steal a little not a lot. Food was decent for price. I have traveled literally all over the world and have only felt compelled to leave great reviews, but this is not the case. Absolutely the worst dining experience ever! Our server seemed under the influence of something, enough to where my daughter noticed him stumbling. Never saw him after we received our food, we had someone me else clearing our plates. After a long day out in the sun we decided to sit inside which was a total mistake it must have been 95 degrees inside. After waiting 15 minutes when everyone was finished with there food still no sign of server, went to bar and asked to have our server to deliver our check, continued to wait another 15-20 mins still no sign of server or check. Don't waste your time at this place, so many other great dining experiences on the island! Such a shame bc we have went there before when they were at their other location and it was much much better. Will never go back. read more
