I've been here twice now and am a fan! It has a pretty (yet minimalist) interior and a nice layout with some larger tables for studying/working on one side. On sunny days, the cafe is filled with natural light. Both times, I got my order to go so can't really comment on the wifi or what it's like to sit down and stay for awhile. But, the coffee was delicious. Both times I had the Caramello -- really tasty and not overly sweet like most places. The line does tend to get long on weekend mornings (say 10 a.m.ish) which is expected. Food selection is ok (Mighty O donuts and a few other items) but could be expanded in my opinion. read more

This was my first time visiting Broadcast and I absolutely loved it. I might even consider it better than Phil's coffee. I got a latte, iced caramel macchiato and some donuts. it was just right amount of caramel and coffee. My go to neighborhood coffee spot. I live a couple blocks from the location on Roosevelt way. Currently they are only open for to go orders. They take the safety of their staff and customers very seriously which I appreciate. They sell beans, french presses and filters for people to brew coffee at home. They support Black Lives Matter which I also appreciate. Broadcast serves great coffee. I'll admit I'm very straightforward when it comes to how I like my coffee-just black, drip coffee, and if it's good, I don't need to add anything. Broadcast serves the coffee I need. I've ordered the matcha lattes and chai on occasion which are yummy but a little too sweet for my taste. Broadcast also serves Sunrise breakfast tacos which are delicious . Two of them are enough for a substantial, healthy breakfast that isn't super pricy. I had to double check (as I'm from CA and we don't get jack for free, or if we do it's the smallest size) so I asked if I could get anything, any size? Stumbled across this neighborhood coffee shop while yelping for coffee spots near my work. They use a La Marzocco espresso machine which I love. They also make their own vanilla syrup. Which is quite impressive since most places just buy it from the store. The store itself is simple and big. I love the large windows since it allows a lot of natural sunlight to come in. There's plenty of seating and also an area that looks like it's meant for people to study in or work. It's on the pricier side, but what isn't pricey these days? I come here regularly to work and just get a drip coffee black. People who work here are friendly, they can get a little backed up in the mornings since often it is only 1 person behind the counter. My girlfriend loves their London Fog so the 5th star is for that because she is picky and always seems happy with how it's made. The large tables have a library vibe that I enjoy. read more

I recently moved to the area and have been taking walks every morning to different coffee shops in the area. There's a surprising amount for Seattle yet none have compared to Broadcast. I love the homemade syrups (cardamom being my favorite) and the unique drink combinations they come up with for their specials. I appreciate they use bigger cups in their iced beverages so you're truly getting the ounces you pay for rather than just paying for ice. The inside is nice as well with a large amount of seating, big tables, and tons of natural light making it a great place to read a book or complete some work! read more

Overall, I had a good experience here.. I got a vanilla latte and it was great. Not too sweet and with 2 shots, it was perfect. It wasn't packed at all when I went (Sunday afternoon) so I had no problem finding an area to spread out my things. The music was bit loud. I could still here it with my Beats on . Not sure if the barista on was just tired or ready to close early, but she was definitely "short" and was not trying to have any sort of small talk or conversation... Kinda sucks, because it was a huge turn off! I get it (kind of). The shop closes at 8, so with people coming in when you're trying to clean up is annoying... But again, the shop closes at 8. Broadcast does their own roast and they know their shit! Much to my surprise, I had the best iced hemp latte here. In my usual unhealthy, obsessive fashion, I have been non-stop thinking about their coffee since the day I had it. My throat experienced heights of pleasure that no penis has done for me before. It's a ground-breaking miracle! I can't speak for the regular lattes because cow's milk is a liquid toxin to my stomach and an affront to humankind. You know what else would be better than cow's milk? Literally drinking anything else. Even Sunny Delight. And Michael Phelp's pee. The vibe is endearing in a strange way. This is the type of venue someone with a hundred tattoos goes to only play Nirvana covers sporting a freakishly large amount of nipple hair. The password for the wifi is "discopony." I had a very strong first impression of Broadcast Coffee Roasters on Roosevelt Way. It's a big airy, open, and bright space, a pretty minimal concept and really pretty minimal-modern artwork (not sure that's really a thing, but that's what it looks like!). There was a good variety of seating choices: a bench along one wall and counter in the window, the middle was more normal cafe and then the other side and set back a bit were three large library-type tables. A good amount of outlets to be found and free wifi that is working pretty well right now. The staff was very friendly and took the time to talk about their coffee and concept when I made comments. Prices were average. The espresso had a pleasant acidity to it that was well-balanced with roasty chocolate notes, so the acidity had a welcome taste. I had a drip refill and found a similar quality in the taste. I'm really liking this coffee. I had a basic breakfast sandwich: ham, bacon and egg. I think it was on a sourdough rye bread, obviously from a good bakery and a bit healthier of an option. The sandwich was a bit small and clean, which I liked since I'm trying not to overdo it, but if you're looking for a greasy sausage and bread that will dissolve into your bloodstream in .01 seconds, you'll have to look elsewhere. I would recommend the nearby Wayward Vegan Cafe for something in between. Anyway, this place is a winner. I was only stopping here because I had a meeting here nearby but already am considering returning for a few more hours. The closest parking is 4 hour max pay parking on the street. There is time-limited free parking on surrounding blocks and some free street parking in the surrounding neighborhood if you don't mind a little walk. read more

As we were looking at the menu board, the batista was very pleasant and was kind in describing the different and unique drink names on their board. We ended up with one that was not on their board which was the disco pony. I am glad that we spoke with her as she guided us to a drink close to the "fog" that we have had in downtown Sesttle. This place is surprisingly not super well known yet, but is one of my favorites! They have a drip coffee option with unlimited refills so I love spending a couple hours working in the cafe. Food is pretty good - I usually opt for a mighty-o donut. If you're not headed in the direction of Green Lake it's a little bit out of the way from downtown, but it's worth the trek! I ordered the Caramella, one of their specialty drinks. It came with a pretty latte art, but the coffee was almost tasteless. It tasted water down, and the caramel added a sour after taste. They do the 2 hour wifi voucher thing which comes in a piece of paper with different letter code. I typically go to local coffee shops like this on the weekend, expect decent wifi, and plan to stay longer than 2 hours. I ended up forcing myself to buy something else here just to get an hour more of wifi, really annoying! It's spacious and has some decent decor pieces in here, but there are things to improve! Many would argue that to use their wifi, how much time is reasonable for a $5 purchase. Having decent speed & free wifi should be a basic minimum requirement, and it shouldn't be so limited. Although I respect the owner and how they run their business, I won't be coming back anytime soon. read more

What a great place to come study or get some work done. Spotlessly clean, full of light, spacious and comfortable. On one side they have long tables (looks like a library) with lamps and outlets which would be perfect for study groups and on the other side they have more cafe like seating. This place is also calm and relaxing, and even though it was quite busy everyone was working on their own thing. We got a fresh orange juice and a chai. Both were good. In writing this review I am debating between 3 and 4 stars. I would say it is more like 3.5 stars but I will leave it it here for now. I reserve reserve the right to bump up rating at a later time. So with that being said let's go with a simple review template: Pros: This place is new, and I do mean brand new. So it is naturally clean and has that new building smell. I also really love the industrial look inside. Certainly Certainly a different vibe than what you usually get in Seattle. They also have their own way of doing things such as serving iced tea in a mason jar. All that with a staff that is always frindly. Finally the location is great. Right in the middle of the Roosevelt neighborhood. Cons: It could be because it is so knew but the place lacks character. Not in a Starbucks corporate type of way but more of a minimalist sort of way. It needs art on the walls, a comfortable couch and maybe some articles about the shop. But they are still knew so this will come In time. They also seem to have very limited offerings outside of coffees and teas. More pastries guys. Overall: A great addition to the Roosevelt neighborhood. Solid opening and I'm guessing they will only improve with time. Until then they aren't my first choice in the neighborhood, but I will certainly stop by from time to time if I'm shopping in the area. read more

I typically get an iced almond milk latte or cold brew and both are good. The baristas are friendly and efficient. My favorite thing about this coffee shop is the environment- I typically look for a coffee shop with a minimal, clean line, Scandinavian kind of vibe, big windows, soft lighting, open space, tables for doing work, outlets, and quiet, respectful clientele. Went here to study on the weekend and while the coffee and service is still great, there is a limit on wifi. They give you a wifi voucher for each purchase you make (good for 2 hrs) and in order to get another 2 hrs of wifi, you have to make another purchase. Not a good place to study on the weekends if you're looking to hunker down and grind but weekdays I believe there is no voucher system. A bit disappointing. read more

Oh look, yet another coffee place closely to try out. In a city with an overabundance of such places, it has to stand out. Sadly, this one doesn't. Inside, it has a clean almost sterile interior. The snack selection is spartan, and the coffee is pricier than most other places, and really no better. For a snack, I tried a lemon lavender coffee cake. It was nice, but not spectacular. The lavender came through but it was a little dry. I probably won't be back since there are a few places within walking distance that are both better and cheaper. read more

The coffee is fabulous and worth dealing with no parking in the neighborhood as long as you twenty minutes to wait for a drink.

During the day, this place soaks in a ton of natural daylight. Great place to read a book or get some work done. The coffee is great, and their loose leaf teas are wonderful. You can get a cup or even a pot of tea. They'll also top you up with hot water for free refills. Their A/C is pretty strong, so it's a boon during the summer. But if you tend to be cold often, plan on bringing an extra sweater to stay comfortable. The locked bathroom is clean and you can help yourself to the key nearby. Bonus: Apparently, Seattle has more dogs than children. Having an abundance of large windows, you'll be able to watch people walking their doggos on your next sip of coffee here. read more

He was very knowledgable about what flavors go well together and what pairs well with the coffee. I ordered a con panna with cinnamon + seltzer water. It was served on a black wooden plank which enhanced the experience and helped to tie in the modern ambiance and it was perfect. Check out the special drinks. They had a "purple pony" on special today which included: Cold brew, sparkling water, blueberry lavender and lemon zest. There was a lot of seating available. It seems like a good place to study or read, as it was pretty low-key and respectably quiet but comfortable. They had a good selection of unique baked items and also sell mighty-o doughnuts! I came here on the first day I flew in to Seattle. I had my luggage with me (because I was moving in to an apartment nearby) and I was exhausted. I ordered an iced latte and received my 2-hr wifi voucher along with it. The coffee was good, nothing special though in my opinion. After having moved in and settled at school for a few weeks I decided to come back because I found it a nice atmosphere to study in. I went in and found a spot and settled and began working. I didn't need wifi so I didn't order anything. About 30 minutes in an employee confronts me asking if I want anything to drink. (Don't you think if I wanted something I would have ordered something?) I kindly responded no thank you and she went on to say that they "ask" that people purchase something if they're going to be here. I, again, kindly responded okay, thank you. After that, I packed up my things and left. I'm left a bit confused and upset. I just wanted to study somewhere other than my little apartment and I guess I chose the wrong place. All these restrictions they place on you makes it an unpleasant experience in my opinion, it's not inviting at all. Let alone the employees look unhappy too. If this coffee house isn't the epitome of Pinterest, then I don't know what is. I went to their Ravenna location. I love bright, open coffee houses and this one surely is that. There is a study section in back with long tables, two tops, tables, and they also have a window-facing bar. The baristas were really sweet, and explained all of their signature drinks to me. I tried my first mezzo there - an americano with steamed milk, (similar to that of a cafe au lait but with espresso). I bought their travel mug for $22 and it included a free drink. Their iced latte is amazing and doesn't need any sweetener because their beans have slight berry notes. This will become a place I frequent when I am in Seattle! read more
