Needs better management. Every time I shop there they are 'out' of half the things on my list. And please take the time to give baggers some tips. For example: If the customer hands you an insulated bag, the customer expects you to put the cold and or frozen items in that bag. and If the customer hands you multiple bags DO NOT stuff all the items in just one bag. and Always place fresh deli or meat items in a paper bag to catch and absorb leakage. read more

Part of my affection for Fred Meyer stems from the fact that I believe this is the second-oldest continuously operating grocery store in Bellingham, after the Haggen on Meridian. I still mourn the passing of Clark's Market at James and Alabama, the last of the locally-owned grocery stores in Bellingham. Since there are no locally-owned grocers any more, I now do the bulk of my shopping at Wal-Mart due to prices, but find Fred's prices to be reasonable on the many items that Wal-Mart does not carry. Also, I sometimes find even better prices on Kroger brand items (the Fred Meyer label) than at Wal-Mart. Plus, the pharmacy is astonishingly efficient. I can't speak about their prices, since I am covered by insurance, but they are quicker and more accurate than most other pharmacies I have used. read more

Don't Buy Produce-FRED MEYER (Bakerview) We went to Fred Meyer, Bakerview (April 10, 2015) and were in the organic vegetables area. A female employee, short brown hair, was preparing produce to put out for sale. She was repeatedly coughing, without covering her mouth with her arm, showering her germs all over the produce she was working with, the prep area, the organic produce on the other side of where she was working, and the shoppers that were there. There were 5 unhappy shoppers standing there watching her coughing all over everything and everyone. None of us bought anything in the produce dept. - organic food contaminated by an employee. This employee has a food handler permit, etc,, training up the kazoo, so why was she so negligent? The dept. manager was talking to another employee just a few feet away, so why didn't he correct this situation? Obviously she was coughing/sick prior to this moment, so why can't she stay home (or be told to stay home) since she has an uncontrollable cough, is spewing her germs and ? all over everyone/everything, and is ill? Why is Fred Meyer so unconcerned with following health requirements and so disrespectful to their customers? Management gets paid well to make shopping safe for all customers -- please do a better job of paying attention to what's going on with your employees. And to the employee coughing all over the produce, work area, and customers -- you have paid sick leave -- please use it. read more

Not the best place to bring her toddler when all he wants is to go to the toy aisle LOL. Very clean store three people for a customer service pre-much have everything you ever wanted an amazing beer selection I deafly would recommend people to go there. read more

Great experience. Pharmacist caught a prescription error made by the clinic. When the correct script was called in, the drug was unavailable. The pharmacist tried for an hour to locate some by calling numerous competitor pharmacies in Whatcom and Skagit County, and eventually arranged for the supplier to deliver it asap. He even offered my husband a chit for a sandwich and coffee in the deli during the wait. read more

The review is basically for the Pharmacy. No issues with the rest of the store. Got a prescription? Please check around this particular Pharmacy has been charging considerably more than the FM on Bakerview to my senior parents. The last prescription was $60.00 higher at this store than Bakerview. My concern look across the street and you will find a large community of 55+ who, like my parents, don't easily get around anymore. The $60.00 additional cost at this store was actually the lowest dollar discrepancy my parents have discovered in the past month. I did call Kroger Corporate and was told that individual Pharmacies could set their own pricing and that these type of discrepancies were not out of line. read more

I have shopped there for many years and there is no better place in town, The prices are the best, their sales are really good and the coupons they send out actually match the things I often buy which is a big plus. I love the staff , they are always helpful and friendly The lines aren't long and the produce is fresh. I have tried other stores but always come back to Freddys I have used clicklist several times as well and it is so nice when I am to busy to go in and shop. Never a problem. read more

I can't manage to bring myself to enter this store unless I'm being dragged by someone else who's driving after all the traumatizing experiences I've had in this Fred Myers location in just the last year. First there was the dog that literally exploded with poop in the deli, the old VERY wealthy woman picked up the massive pile of shit that had sprayed all over my cart and purchases. She walked away shouting about "what are you looking at?! he's just marking his territory!" And she trotted out of the store. The people working in the deli chose to pretend nothing had happened and ushered people to come and order cold cuts as a woman slipped in the sick. I had to run around the entire store to find a floor manager to retrieve my contaminated cart of goods and he "claimed " to be on it but after waiting forty minutes no one came or cleaned or mopped a thing up in the deli. I have psychological trauma from this incident, I had the throw away my shoes cloths and jacket because the smell would not wash out. This is just one of about ten gut wrenchingly disgusting experiences I've had in this Fred Meyers store on lakeway. The one on Bakerview is just fine. But this lake way store really has a long history of giving my family serious cases of food poisoning. The witnessing of them sweeping health hazards under the rug and knowingly exposing be its patrons to serious food born illness with no regard for people at risk like pregnant persons, small children and the elderly haunts me to this day. I hope they change their management some day. The savings are not worth it when the real price you have to pay is hospital bills. read more

I was very pleased to discover that Fred Meyer makes returns so easy. I did not have my receipt, but they can look up and confirm your purchase based on your credit card number or customer card. Easy as could be! read more

I love coming here from Vancouver every week! Such awesome deals. I can get twice as much as I can in canada, even with the exchange! I then use my points from my Freddie's card to get a discount on gas! Last week my SUV was on empty and I filled up for $35.00! Worked out to 0.67 a litre! read more

While I don't actually live close enough to shop there I recently became aware of how they treat their employees and how when an employee has a family crisis the company bends over backwards to assist. I don't live in the area....but when I'm in the area I will shop there just to show my support for an org that cares for their staff so well. The org can't put this behavior in an ad or use it to increase sales...but any org with leadership who have those kind of hearts ...well you have my respect and I will sing your praises. I wish you could give lessons to other orgs on how to treat your staff and be an employee of choice. read more

Recently had my car damaged in Fred Meyer parking lot when a cart released by a fleeing shoplifter slammed into passenger door. The two staff who were chasing the thief were apologetic and told me that a manager would be out to speak to me. However, after a 15 minutes wait, they told me the manager was too busy too speak to me, but he wanted my insurance information. Of course, the insurance company denied the claim. I never even wanted the insurance companies involved. I simply thought a store claiming a commitment to good customer service would ensure that a manager find time to speak to a customer after a unpleasant shopping experience like that. A gift card to cover the cost of the damage to my car would have been nice as well. Oh well, won't be shopping there anymore. On to Target. Disappointing as I had shopped at Fred Meyer for years. But I always boycott stores who fail basic customer service. read more
