Some of the worst customer service I've ever seen from a jewelry store. Was waiting for Mihaela to be done with paperwork and another customer walked in after me. She helped them right away. I waited behind the customer and she never once acknowledged me. The manager Christina came over and helped me. I was upset and expressed as much to her. She did not acknowledge it. Took my ring to be cleaned. When I asked another employee who the manager was she told me it was Christina. When I addressed her lack of concern she basically told me the employee didn't see me and that she wasn't going to talk to me about whatever my issue was because I came up hostile. Great way to save a customer. Will not be giving them any more business. Will go to the Gresham location instead. read more

This used to be our favorite Freddie's. It is near our neighborhood and we love the layout inside the store. The produce is near the front entrance making it very convenient. Like most Fred Meyers it'll they also sell clothes, groceries and just about anything else you could want. The Starbucks located right inside the store is a nice touch as well. There is also a pharmacy and more recently a gas station placed right in the parking lot. The store is clean and the staff friendly enough. They are currently doing a remodel inside the store so the aisles are a bit confusing for the moment. The parking situation got very bad when they put in the gas station. This caused them to use up a good chunk of the parking spaces. Every time we come here the parking lots are generally very full and we have to park all the in the back past the gas station. The amount of traffic in the parking lot is also dangerously heavy with cars looking for parking and people going in and out of the gas station. We try to avoid this Freddie's due to the lack of parking and also heavy traffic in the parking lot. read more

My fiancé and I came to the jewelers inside the store to just take a look at their selection of wedding bands. We were immediately greeted by Madison, who was very bubbly and friendly. She helped us navigate the rings and narrow it down to what we were really looking for. She never once tried to push us to something else because it was more expensive, and really seemed to enjoy helping us find our forever bands! She made sure we also looked through the catalogue to see other options, but she showed us a unique ring we had never seen, fell in love with it, and bought it right then! Probably one of the best jewelry sales gals we have ever worked with and will definitely be coming back to her for our other jewelry needs! So happy with the purchase and experience! read more

Sometimes I just come here and wander up and down every aisle. It has the most splendid sad meat section of any Freddy's. I totally love the old queen that works the customer service counter. He put a bunch of stars on the collar of his Fred Meyer polo shirt, like he's some sort of Field Marshal or Ubergruppenfurher or Starfleet officer or something. I love how I become disoriented in the produce section, because nothing about the layout makes a bit of sense. I love how they made the damn Salvation Army bell ringer stand outside, instead of in the lobby, driving everyone crazy with that ridiculous ting-a-ling crap. The only Fred Meyer I like even close to as much is the one on Burnside by the stadium, and that's only because I feel like I'm entering and leaving the Batcave when I park in the underground garage. Service was amazing over the holidays. They had all check stands open and each was a short line. Management really did well. A side from a few grumpy overwhelmed workers most were pretty friendly through the chaos. My only issue with the store is the pharmacy. The autofill program is either late alert or no alert at all. I call in refills now but even those get send to other stores accidentally. But oh well gotta have my meds anyway. read more

Alright, I'm one to be very understanding of humanity's tendency for error. I am the first to be guilty of it. However, the situation we were put in was, for lack of better words, ridiculous. We placed a catered order for 4 platters (simple ones like cubed cheese, veggies, antipasto, etc.) Super easy stuff to throw together the night before. We agreed to pick it up at 8am Saturday morning. Mind you, we placed the order well in advance. We arrive to pick up our order at 7:50 thinking it would've been prepared & ready the night before. We go up & tell them we are here to pick up 3 platters & a pan of wings. They told us they weren't QUITE ready just yet. It's ok, we were thinking maybe another 10 min no big deal. Uh 30 MINUTES LATER--bless my aunty, she knows how to get to the bottom of things-- my aunt came & come to find out they had JUST started on our order!! We had our grandfather/father's funeral at 9am and it was 8:30 and still waiting. First off, I feel like they straight up lied to us when we came. "Aren't quite ready yet" & "we haven't even started on your order" are TOTALLY DIFFERENT. Instead of telling us there had been a mix up with the time & making us wait around & being late to the funeral we could have absolutely worked out an alternative. Horrible job at covering your booties. OH & they forgot to make one of the platters! OH AND they took the order on a piece of parchment paper not a real order form scribbled out in sharpie. That should have been a red flag. "We need to get order forms." Umm... YEAH YA DO. Very frustrating situation to be in when you've got a sensitive event to go to. However, I will commend them for trying to put out the fire. No employee wants to be part of someone catering nightmare. It wasn't done intentionally or out of ill will. They apologized & seemed very sympathetic. They did discount us. They did do all they could do to not escalate the situation. But, I do not recommend Fred Meyer for your catering events. I'm sorry. I would never want to go through that ever again and I wouldn't want anyone to experience that either. They don't even have legit order forms--they don't seem properly equipped. Hire a legit caterer. This is my favorite Fred's. It's far enough away from the Max tracks that I don't have to fight the riff-raff to shop there; consequently this store does not have to post staff at the doors to discourage shoplifting. I prefer not to be raked by the evil eye of Sauron when I walk in or out. Parking is more convenient than most, and most of the staff seems moderately happy, rather than the grumps seen at other stores. Yes, it's big, so allow time to shop there, but it is what it is; one-stop shopping, slightly over-priced, but a nice respite from the stress-inducing Winco or even more over-priced Albertsons and Safeway. read more

I think there is such thing as toooooo big. Sometimes I just wanna get in and get out. But when the two departments that you need to go to are at complete opposite ends - AND floors - of the store it can be such a pain. They do have great prices and I can get anti-freeze and bath salts in - yup, you guessed it - one stop. Nothing else really stood out about this store, except that its in a new gigantic strip mall. I have been to several other Fred Meyer stores and I have never been so disappointed as I was when I went into this one today. Their wine selection compared to the one in Gresham is basically non-exhistant, they don't have party invitations and a book that was just released the day before they didn't even have stocked! I just popped into this Fred Meyer for some supplementary school supplies for my daughter, and had to look around a bit. The store is clean, well lit, and the parking lot is nicely sized to accommodate plenty of people. There's a Lowe's across the street, on the west side, which makes this a great FM to stop at when we need to hit home repair as well. This FM has the entire clothing section upstairs. They have a lot of staff standing around, looking at customers. I guess they have a high theft rate? They did seem relaxed though. I looked at the Halloween decor sales, but they were only fifteen percent off. There are far better prices on the big items elsewhere. They did have half off all blinds. Between that sale, and a coupon I received in the mail, I snagged a blind to replace our broken one for twelve bucks. I checked out their home decor clearance, which was just as sad. A simple, mass produced, foot long, metal weave basket, you hang over a door or pole was twenty after half off the clearance price! Moving on. I wandered by the freezer section, as I like to look at what different FM's have. They had a frozen meal brand, I hadn't seen elsewhere, for a great sale (Eating Well). I could eat ninety percent of their meals! Score! I nabbed one of each one I could eat, and moved on to the cider section. I've been informed, by other FM employees, that there are some brands carried on one side of the river and not the other due to liquor laws, so I always check for something I haven't seen elsewhere. They did have a couple of individual bottles on the top shelf, on sale: a seasonal Two Towns Cider Bad Apple and Hollow Jack, which I purchased to enjoy later. I also perused the organic veggies section. I found some organic mini-bell peppers, which I can't seem to find at other FM's. I also found some purple cauliflower, which I would have purchased, were it not for the blackened top on each and every one of the heads. If they price were half of what it was, it would have been priced well for the condition. So, some misses, but quite a few hits. I will probably visit this location again. They are close to McMenamins, Exclusive pet store with good quality foods, Stomping Grounds Coffee House, Lowes, Starbucks, Kohl's and Party City. read more

I typically love These stores. I've never had an issue but today must be a full moon or something. I got a pair of boots for Christmas and called to see if I they he a certain size I wanted to try. Both the woodvillage and gresham store were incredibly put out by my request for them to look for the boots. The woodvillage store just automatically told me they didn't carry the specific brand. The Gresham store tried tot ell me Fred Meyer doesn't carry what I'm looking for. Interesting because that's where my cousin bought them and the tag on the box says Fred Meyer. I asked if she could look through a computer system to find them. She informed me she would have to go to the stock room to do that. I told her I would wait. Finally after getting on the computer she found that Freddie's does indeed carry the and, shocking, and that the division store had plenty. I called the Division store and the girl was incredibly sweet and helpful. I hate to have to search around for helpful sales associates but at least Division seems to have one on staff today. read more

Their carts lock up in the middle of the parking lot not far from the entrance, very dangerous when you have little ones in tow and need that cart which is full of groceries to get to your car, my cart locked up where there were cars pulling in and backing out and we all almost got ran over, so had to leave my cart in the middle of the road to get ourselves out of the way of traffic, then go back to the cart and attempt to carry several bags of heavy groceries to the car with my kids in tow, I was not a happy customer. read more

Last night I posted my experience on the Fred Meyer/Kroger website, and I'm rewriting it here hoping that you might find a more locally owned place to shop. My name is Ian Gelbrich and my family and I have shopped at various Fred Meyer stores in the Portland metro area for nearly 17 years. We routinely spend a reasonable amount of money in your Wood Village store and I'm writing to explain why we'll never again frequent this store or any other store affiliated with your company. This evening, 11/05/2014, we went to the pharmacy at the Wood Village Fred Meyer to pickup a prescription for our infant son who was diagnosed this afternoon with Croup. While this condition is rarely life threatening, it is heart-wrenching to listen to a baby cough and struggle for breath. Our doctor had to call around the Portland metro area to find someone to fill the prescription as many pharmacies don't carry the drug she prescribed. After calling around to a couple of Target locations we were relieved to find it at the Fred Meyer where we routinely shop. When we arrived, my wife remained in the car with my son while I ran inside to get the prescription. I talked with the technician and asked if they had received the prescription from my doctor. She verified that they had just received it and it would take 20 mins. to fill. I ran to grab some additional items and on my return they asked for my sons weight which I gave them. Five minutes later the pharmacist came out and asked me to accept another form of the medicine. To clarify, I have no medical training and she wasn't suggesting a generic version of the drug but a tablet form instead of a liquid form. I was told that the tablet form might be slower acting. She proceeded to explain that if they opened the sealed liquid bottle for my sons medication they'd have to throw the rest out after ninety days, and it's kind of expensive. I told her that I wanted the medication that my doctor specified and she walked off with perceivable irritation. I continued to wait for an additional twenty minutes before the prescription was finally filled per the doctor's instructions. When I finally got back to my family in the car, my wife, who was in the back seat comforting my son, explained why it had taken so long. My wife had spoken with our doctor and discovered that the pharmacist had called her (the doctor) to try and get her to accept the change to the prescription. The doctor's exasperated response should not be repeated here. When the doctor refused to alter the prescription, the pharmacist felt the need to contact the manager to get verification to approve the prescription. To add insult to injury this whole lengthy process made us late to pick up our other son from preschool. As I mentioned, I have no medical training. I'm just a parent and as such, when my child is sick and I've been given a prescription I expect it to be filled as directly as possible. In addition I expect the pharmacist to be aligned with my doctor in looking out for my family's best interest. The take away from this experience is that Fred Meyer, i.e. Kroger is more concerned about it's bottom line than the well being of it's customers, even it's youngest ones. This is why we will no longer buy anything from your organization and will strongly support a more local competitor. In addition I will share my experience on social media and recommend to anyone who asks that they shop at New Seasons. read more
