I love Freddy's! It's like a giant Ralph's (SoCal Kroger). This Fred Meyer is the furthest south on I-5, so it's my last stop to stock up on things and refuel the car before heading back to California. No fruits or veggies because I don't want to be hassled at the agricultural inspection station. Their gas prices are among the lowest. After getting gas, I stop in for a pit stop in the main store. The restrooms are nice and clean. They have good prices and sometimes crazy coupon deals in their ad flyers (99 cent half-gal milk/juice) for groceries. Also like the half off bakery rack in the back. The staff are super kind and friendly. Don't need a club card to get those weekly ad savings, but I think you can earn some kind of reward for gas. They still have plastic bags here!!! YES! Precious~!~!! read more

Medford was the town that I first came across the Pacific Northwest department store chain, Fred Meyer. This location wasn't too bad. It is sort of like Target but not quite as trendy and far from the frumpiness and dumpiness of WalMart but somehow it seems a combination of the two. Convenient shopping... I don't think this store had groceries but I can't remember. They have everything else that you come to expect from a departments store though. I will never enter this store again. 1 year of remodel so you can open a bar in view of the bakery and meat counter and an expanded booze section? Poor choice for a family establishment. I've read all about Fred Meyer's, and I had to go into one during my road trip, and WOW. I don't even know where to start. Southern Oregon is full of really interesting people. Fred Meyer's felt like a mix of the 909, Los Angeles and the South. i shop all the time at Fred Meyers. I try to buy the digital items.. i have tried to set it up on my phone and it won't take my card numbers. Usually I tell the checker about it and they give it to me, but today she didn't want to and was snotty.. tried to show me how on phone when I had digital item up she said wrong messed it up and wasn't nice about it.. and then couldn't get it back.. she did give it to me but Wasn't nice about it.. then went to get gas and wait wait and wait.. I personally know someone who worked in brookings pumping gas for four years. He put his application in Medford and they didn't hire him... why aren't you hiring people.. it's not right... they say can't find anyone to work.... I needed to return a toilet seat, never opened had the receipt and told to go to customer service. 4 people standing around serving no one, and the line to customer service is blocked, they said they just closed and I had to come back. Then I was told to talk to the guy in the red jacket his name was Fred, and he might make an exception, it is painful for me to walk and I asked if I could go through a check stand, or since people are still in customer service could they let me return the item. Nope no exceptions, have to make another trip in to get the refund. This was at 6;30pm. Don't know when they close as there are no signs and nothing on the website about closing early. Worst pharmacy I have ever been to. I will never go back. After having my grandmothers prescription called in hours before they said it would be another 30 mins after i came in to pick them up. After 45 mins of waiting they only had bothered to prepare one of the two items and told me it would be another "I don't know maybe like 15" Totally unprofessional and rude about it. Thank goodness for the fabulous staff at the in store Starbucks. They were great. Happy and wonderful service. They are probably the only reason I'm not locked under the jail for going ape sh*t at the pharmacy. I used to shop here a lot but they are losing me as a customer. They had flat iron steaks on sale and shrimp on sale, we have an elderly friend, who was having problems because he hurt himself and we wanted to give him a nice gift of surf and terf to cheer him up. They were out of both and did not even offer to sell us anything else. They could have made a few extra bucks because we were feeling generous, but the treatment we received was the worst. Fred Meyer used to be a pleasant place to shop, but the only thing that keeps us going there is two wonderful clerks who get kudos. Chris ,customer service, is always nice and personable, as is Suzy, a clerk. They keep us coming back but the people in the meat department need lessons in customer relations. read more

On Tuesday, June 11, 2019, my wife and I stopped by the Fred Meyer Pharmacy, 1301 Center Dr, Medford, OR 97501 to get two vaccinations: a tetanus shot for myself and a shingles shot for my wife. At the counter, a young woman asked if she could help and I told her that I needed a tetanus shot and my wife a shingles shot. During our conversation, the woman twice verified that I needed a tetanus and my wife a shingles. After filling out some forms we were told it would be 20 minutes before someone would be available to give us the vaccinations. Returning after 20 minutes, we had to wait another 20 minutes before being escorted into a consultation room where everything was all laid out. The woman giving us the shots (not the same as the first woman) asked our birthdates, but cut both of us off after the day/month. My wife went first. As I was sitting down to receive my shot, I commented about why I needed a tetanus shot and asked why my doctor would recommend me to get one? She was concentrating on giving me the shot and mumbled something about every 10 years and something about measles shots. My wife asked if my shot had the measles vaccination as well. "No." was her response. She never gave us any information about the procedure or the medicine. After she gave us both our shots, she suggested we hang around for a few minutes to see if we had any after effects. Neither of us had any, so we completed our other errands and went home. When we got home, I examined the paperwork given us at the pharmacy and I noticed that the injection given me was "SHINGRIX VIAL KIT", not a tetanus shot. My first reaction was: "They could have killed me!" They injected me with a drug that I have no desire to take, never taken, and have no idea how I would react to the drug! I was/am outraged over this. I called back to complain and, I believe I spoke to the woman who gave us the shots. When I stated our grievances, she responded with a flat, emotionless, "Ok." Unwilling to admit their error, I called the store manager and because he "was in a meeting", had to deal with the store assistant manager who agreed that this was a "big deal" and that she would investigate and get back to me. She ended our conversation with "Have a nice day!" which only aggravated me even further. How could I have a good day when someone just gave me an injection of something I did not authorize? To make matters worse, my wife examined the additional "Oregon Alert Immunization Information" sheets accompanying our paperwork and the one attached to my vaccination was from some other patient! So, now they give me the wrong drug and revealed another patients private information. I filed a complaint with the Oregon Pharmacy Board and with Fred Meyers. After more than a month with no response, I called Fred Meyers to find out what was happening. It seems that the "problem was solved". Nobody was fired or disciplined, as far as I can see. In fact, nothing happened; I was basically shined on. We will not be using Fred Meyer FOR ANYTHING anymore. Their lack of concern was overwhelming. read more

They almost always seem to have some of the best prices on things in town. Plus the self check out is great. I usually stop by here and pick up a few red bulls and I am in and out in 5 minutes thanks to the self check out. However occasionally I have run into a lot idiots in the store who either don't look before coming out of the aisles and run into me, take up an entire aisle, walk extremely slow down an aisle in front of me, or do not get out of my way when they see me walking towards them. I know this is not the stores fault that but because of the constant frustration they lose 1 star. read more

I would give this a zero if there were a way. I moved here from Vancouver WA where I absolutely loved my Fred Meyers and now here I am in the south end of Medford and this is possibly the worst grocery store I have ever shopped in. This all starts with almost no small carts if you want one you have to shag one yourself. Their produce is the worst in town. Maybe a tie with Walmart but theirs is horrible as well. Iceberg lettuce always red and slimy and gross. Mangos are either almost rotten or hard as a rock the same with avocados. A lot of times they have little to no selection of tomatoes. They have no Boars Head meat in their deli, they don't slice cheeses like muenster. The meat section, I have found old chicken on more then one occasion. Read dates carefully because they don't. Each time I have tried to shop there for 8 items or so I can always count on leaving without a few either because the produce was horrible or they were out. Oh be careful buying their salsa in the deli area it is almost always out of date. And if you want refrigerated pie crust they have 2 choices their brand or Pillsbury with neither being deep dish. Today I got so frustrated I walked away from my cart that I had to shag. I hate that this store is so horrible. I guess the people from here don't know any difference they are used to substandard produce and poor selection and shagging their own carts. If you get there before noon they try to shove everyone through the self check they are really bad at taking customers at registers and I find this very frustrating considering they charge Cadillac prices the way the good FM's do. This makes me sad. I miss a FM where they have high quality produce, a great selection throughout the store. Milk that was on sale that wasn't going to be bad in 5-6 days. I really miss my .10 cent gas discount but I can't stand it anymore. How this store stays in business is beyond me. Like my FM in Vancouver the prices are high but there I could always count on the produce and product availability. This FM just isn't worth the bother. I have gone from spending 300-400 a month to as little as 60 if that. I can't see myself ever going back there again actually. read more

Since the store remodel selection throughout the grocery section has dropped considerably. With each trip I've become more & more disappointed with what I can't buy here. If I have to go to a store with a good selection for a jar of applesauce (none in stock & no slot for it to be stocked) I just as well do all my shopping at that store. I know the ordering & picking up your groceries is the new thing, but when the order pickers push in-store shoppers out of the way to fill their orders it seems like the store may be trading one customer for another. Good Morning America.......First I love shopping at Fred Meyer South and North....But...yes there is one very upsetting comment....I ordered and picked up flower cup cakes yesterday....and did not get out of the parking lot before one box had completely flipped over....mind you this was for a baby shower at 2 that afternoon and it was not 12:30.....turned right around and took them in.....the staff was very pleasent and the lady was able to refrost them but....the first comment I heard from the clerk was that this was the third time that day that the cupcakes had to be refrosted.....so that means that three other customers had to wait....this is most of the time a time controlled event.....Please I hope that you can correct this small problem.....yours truly read more

I went into Fred Meyer today to get a few things and when I went to checkout there was a clerk named Kaitlin who waited on me. She was very lazy, uncourteous and needed to be at home sitting on her couch, eating bon bons instead of working. She was probably the most rude clerk I have ever seen. She said "you wanna bag" and of course both my husband and I said simultaneously, yes please. While checking us out she was sitting on the counter because sue was obese and did not feel like standing. I bought groceries with food stamps and slid my card in as usual and saw the balance, I did not buy much, eggs, cat food and a few other things, more than a bag full, but it was all packed in one bag with the eggs sitting carelessly on teetering on some cat food cans and some yogurt. When she gave me to total, I thought she said $6 because that was what I had purchased in cat food. She said you gave me a twenty, I said yes, I had already entered my food Stamp card, she said, no you did not. I slid the card through again and imagine, I did not have to enter my passcode again! (Because I already did) So the cash register rang it down to six and a bit or change, She rudely handed my change back to me and I walked out. It is sad to think these clerks get paid to treat their customers so rudely. I will not go to her as a clerk. I would rather check out myself! Used to go to Suzy who was a clerk, but she is now a stocker since she needed a break from rude customers. Suzy was the reason we shopped at Fred meyer! Kaitlin is the reason not to shop there. read more

Years ago and living in the Midwest, there was (still is) a grocery store called Schnuck's that had, no, kidding, push lawnmowers for sale...on top of the frozen food racks. Fred Meyer's is like that. There's a bank, a jewelry store, an electronics department, oh yeah, and a whole grocery store. Really friendly folks, good prices on gas, and close to the highway exits. read more

I changed my pharmacy from WalMart to Fred Meyer two years ago, and I have never once experienced WalMart service until today. The lady at the counter made me feel like I was a total inconvenience. And the entire time she was helping me she looked pissed off and super annoyed. I asked her to check my insurance card since this was the first prescription I was picking up for the year and she didn't even take the card to check it. She just looked at the card sitting on the counter and said "Yeah. That's the same we have here and it's not covered." I hope I never have to encounter her again. read more

The only place I can go that is a one stop shop. They have a great organic selection and I can shop for food or just about any household item I need. They are moving with the times. They support unions and sustainable practices. Could be a tad better but they respond to consumer demand. Love the discount on gas of course for being a loyal customer. read more

I couldn't even make it inside because a man was standing outside telling people they were closing soon. I only had a couple things to grab and this was the closest store, I usually don't shop here. He wouldn't let me take my service dog inside because he didn't have his vest on. No one has ever asked me about him (with or without the vest) and he is not required to wear it to accompany me. He was so rude about it basically calling me a liar, didn't even ask what my dogs task were, he just pointed to the sign that says "no pets, service dogs welcome" I didn't say a word to him and walked away. Inform your employees of the laws of they are going to stand outside enforcing them. What a bad first experience. read more

Stopped to buy two bicycles today. the gentleman who helped us get the bikes to the cashier was very nice and helpful. However the cashier Stephanie appeared to be having a bad day or morning. This is probably one of the best stores in Southern Oregon. The employees are some of the nicest people I've ever known to work in a store. It's great because you can go in there and be able to find something that's on sale and get a really good deal. The layout of the store is simple and it's really easy to find what you need. And if you're thirsty, you can go the Starbucks or Pete's Coffee. read more
