Omgosh. They get worse and worse over time. Now they have the phone system set for the answer machine, picks up after only a few rings. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and left a message. Did they ever call me back??? Hell no. I just kept hanging up and calling back. After the fifth call, someone finally picked up. I'd never let anyone pick up fresh fruit for me in. That is for sure. Not too many people actually do love to eat fruits, so it may also affect the perception of freshness and the way some produce may look more desirable than the other to different people. Local Costco had never big issues putting some moldy products on display, but on the other hand who needs 7 lbs of lemons or tomatoes and if you take 7 weeks to consume them there will be losses one way or the other. Best part about this store is that it is kept clean and the pick up on average takes around 3 minutes, compared to 30 if you do it at local Wal-mart. Lots of items are competitively priced and if you value your time and are not planning on spending half a day browsing through WinCo nearby than local Fred Meyer clearly comes out as a winner. Same with nice flower arrangements. I mean I know if it is for something or someone extra special you'd probably go to Flowers By L.D. instead, but for casual birthday/Valentines bouquet the choice and price ranges seem very decent. read more

I am a loyal shopper at this store and most of the employees are kind and helpful, however, there is one particular cashier named Ashley that I will always avoid if possible. She mostly works at the self-checkout which I chose most of the time. She is never friendly and if I need help in any way she always seems annoyed and does not seem at all happy or nice to me or anyone else. People like Ashley make my shopping experience at Fred Meyer very unpleasant. Please address this issue so myself and other shoppers don't experience this unprofessional behavior. read more

I really like Fred Meyer's stores. I wish we had one in Fresno, CA. I've had people ask me how to describe these stores and I read in a review once that they should be considered a Walmart with class. That phrase has always stuck in my mind and I can't think of a better way to describe. The staff here was very friendly and helpful. My lady and I like to walk around this store on our days off. Huge selection, a bit pricey for my taste. The meat counters look great, the deli counter looks great and the beers on tap are really good. I took my brother in to get his chain fixed and the service was terrible Donna was very rude and basically called my brother broke because he did not want to purchase a 10k bracelet...why would he want 10k? She then went to asking how much his chain was and why didn't he buy a thicker one like it matters at least it's 14k . She was so interested in how much my little brother made it was so weird that an old lady was so interested in my brother, it made the environment every weird and uncomfortable. She also told him come back when he can afford it..the money wasn't the problem it was her attitude and the quality of the gold for the price was ridiculous literally go to a pawn shop so you know ur at least getting quality or a real jewelry store. read more

The usual Fred Meyers - good selection, a bit on the high side. I stopped to pick something up today and the customers in front of me both had delays due to snafus 'round coupons, points, discounts. Maybe if they lowered their prices and eliminated the "points" things might go faster. And if they made sure their computers were updated for every special offer. read more

I love Fred Meyer in Pocatello because it's one of the only places you can go that is clean and updated in appearance ...and while you're there you can pretend you are anywhere else in the world that has a Fred Meyer. I don't hate Pocatello. I recently lived there for 14 months. Every place has it's pro's and con's. There's just not much to do or many placed that are clean and updated there. It is a little more expensive than Smiths, Albertsons or WinCo....the 3 other major grocery stores. But I saw it as paying a little more for cleanliness, a renovated space, lighting, and for being your one stop shop. PLUS, they have a play area for your kids (up to 5 yrs old) while you shop. I'll pay a little more for my groceries, hardware, auto care, garden stuff or apparel for that little gem for sure! read more

Sushi: The home of pocatello's best sushi. I haven't had it for a while, but the cold premade rolls here were better than most of sumisu's...which is downright sad. Don't ask about sushi family. Just read my review if you're inclined. Obviously, sumisu's selection is larger of course and not all of their rolls are bad, but fred meyer's cold, premade sushi has better rice if you pick out the fresh, cold stuff at fred meyer. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As a grocer: They have a decent bulk section though the dates in the bulk bin are terrible. Get the ones that come in a plastic box in the produce section. I don't care for a lot of the produce though. Their melons are often spongy and their apples can also be mushy. Though, I've had this happen at a lot of other grocers as well. Their avocados and mangos are hit and miss as well. Costco's are much better. So much in fact, that I make specific trips there to purchase tropical fruits. The organic section is small and sometimes stuff is just simply missing; but that's a common occurance at smaller organic grocers. Sometimes, their organic produce will be cheaper than their conventionally grown stuff, which is really great. Overall, the best one-stop place for "healthier" food in Pocatello but the produce can be hit or miss. Even the organic stuff. read more

Why is Kroger Stores requiring identifications when a customer (Senior Citizen) purchases non-prescription on-the-shelf cough syrup and is obviously older than 18 yrs Old? I know the age of reasonability ended in 2016 but I was reasonably assured that might change in 2021 when we got a President who cares about the Citizens of this Country. I can see the necessity of checking an I.D. when it is questionable if the person is older than 18 or not. It's amazing I can purchase Alcohol Beverages at a State Controlled LiquorStore without Identification as it is obvious that I have earned every Grey Hair I have for over 70 years. Everyone needs to find reasonability with circumstance. Also, I have a Fred Myers credit card that I also am required to scan and did so which already had my identifiers in their Data Bank and I am more than certain they have my age and my veteran information if that matters so I had to identify myself twice!!! read more

I think Fred's prices are quite a bit higher than need be for a Wal-Mart style store. I can find cheaper prices on food at a number of grocery stores. HOWEVER... the sushi place in there is amazing and this review is mainly about that. I have been to several of the so-called asian food places here in town and by my other reviews you will find that I am super picky. The sushi here is so far the best I have found in Pocatello. The staff is a bit hard to understand as their accents are heavy, just the way I like it. A little dialog barrier isn't a bad thing when you get something so well put together. I never get anything out of the case in from I have them make it fresh, once again I am picky. I do and will go back time and time again for the sushi!!!!!!!!! read more

This was a cool joint that we visited to stock up on various munchies. The place reminds me of a Vons/Costco/Whole Foods in that they carry all the fancy stuff in addition to the regular stuff in addition to big screen televisions. The price are competitive and in some cases much cheaper than what we have here in L.A. When in town and am in need of stocking up with various premium and not=so premium goodies I will stop at Fred Meyer's for my fill. read more

Nice but it is expensive. For serious grocery shopping I have to go to Walmart. I like to look around in Fred Meyer. The kids clothes are good and on sale often. There is a Starbucks in the store, and that's a plus for me. They do need to have more workers checking out shoppers, but that's every grocery store in Pocatello. This is for the parking area. I got soaked putting my groceries away and had to go home change before going to my next stop because Fred Meyer has their sprinklers turn on in the middle of the day. My car was water spotted with hard water and I got wet. Most places, especially, desert regions, sprinkle at night to conserve water. I have written to them before and they ignore the comments. It is also windy here so water goes everywhere except the lawns in the parking area. Also they put all cart returns next to the front of the store and none in the back areas of the lot making it difficult for moms with babies and the elderly, especially when the parking lot is icy, which is all winter, to return a cart. I have also sent them notices about this and they have ignored me. I also ask that they put garbage cans near the cart returns like other grocery stores in our region does. As mentioned, we live in a windy region and there are papers and plastic bags everywhere in the parking lot. I have sent them requests and been ignored, which is typical. read more

My kids were rudely pushed back in line on Friday morning by people cutting into the line ahead of them. My kids deserve that gift card, not some rude people that didnt stand in line, in the freezing cold. Awesome one stop shopping place. Wish they had this place in other cities. I've traveled a lot and have done shopping in all sorts of other Kroger owned grocery stores. Other places I've been to had comparable pricing and selection, except Smith's. Can't go wrong here! One downside, I got a little lost but found a map as I was leaving haha. If there was a zero I would choose that instead. We ordered furniture before Thanksgiving. We got a call on Christmas Eve that it had arrived. With the snowstorms we chose to wait until the next week to pick it up. Apparently the person that sold us the furniture was on vacation and the other team member sold it the same day it came in to someone else. I will never set foot in your store again. Good food quality but way too expensive! They have a service where they allow you to drop off your kids till age 5 so you can shop in peace. When I took my five-year-old there the lady asked him if he was in kindergarten. my son said yes, and the lady said that he cannot go in the play area because he is in kindergarten. If he was five years old and not in kindergarten then he could go there. The most stupid policy I've ever heard!!!!! read more

Yes, Fred Meyer is more expensive than WinCo and Walmart, but when it comes to quality, cleanliness and customer service, Fred Meyer wins by a long shot. Even when things are crazy busy in the electronics department, someone always cheerfully asks if they can help me. The cashiers are friendly and competent, unlike those I often run into at Walmart. The selection here is great and Fred Meyer is my go to place for a lot more than just groceries. read more
