I ordered The Black Cairn. The focaccia was almost inedible, buttered and greasy. There were two thinly sliced pieces of roast beef, a half slice of cheese and a half slice of tomato for the entire sandwich. I don't often find myself in Pocatello, but when I do I always make sure to stop at The College Market for a sandwich. We came here on our way to Salmon, ID for the weekend and got a couple sandwiches about halfway through our long drive. This place is nestled in a quaint little neighborhood bordering the Idaho State University campus, and seems to be a great little hangout for students to grab coffee and lunch and study. This place has a really warm and welcoming vibe on the inside, and there's even a little patio area you can sit at when the weather is warm, or if you have a dog with you. I got the Grove panini and the focaccia bread was phenomenal. All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious. The menu is delicious with something for everyone, the coffee is strong and covers everything you would find at a coffee shop and the space is set up for working. Let me start out by saying I've been to college. I've eaten at some decidedly different places. Some good. Some not so good. I sincerely feel bad for the ISU students that have to eat here because it's close to campus. They deserve better. I am extremely surprised at all the good reviews for this establishment. Seriously. Granted, we did not order a sandwich which is, apparently, so fantastic. We ordered coffee. Black. And a mocha latte. A cheese danish and an apple turnover. Easy? Not so much. The black coffee was cold and weak. And burned. The mocha latte was drinkable but tasted burned. The apple turnover was dry, but I paid for it so I did my best. The cheese danish was moldy. Yes. Moldy. To be fair, the barista was highly embarrassed and replaced the danish. Even gave us a coupon for a complimentary coffee at a future date. But we won't be back so gave the card to a student who was there. read more

I come here very often because it's one of the few places in town that can accommodate my husband's gluten-free, dairy-free diet, plus as a grad student it's a really nice place to study alone or in groups. Their wraps and sandwiches are always really good. My favorites are the City Creek, Super Stacey's and Gouda breakfast sandwich. I've also tried a few of their soups and I've never been disappointed. The lattes are pretty standard for Pocatello--not great, but I can't really criticize considering that's how almost every place in town does them. The staff and owner are really nice. Stumbled across College Market while traveling through Idaho. An unassuming exterior slightly off the beaten path, but WOW! The inside is cozy and welcoming, definitely a place I could see meeting up for coffee or breakfast anytime! Stopped here on the way through town to get a late lunch. So tired of burgers and fries we wanted something different. The paninis were great, the coffee was amazing, and the staff was super friendly. They have a great selection of games and books which gave the kids something to do while we enjoyed our coffee. Great indoor seating, shady outdoor seating with a lovely view of the neighborhood. There isn't much parking, which is really the only draw-back to this location. It's close to the ISU campus, and it's definitely withing walking distance from most of the campus buildings. Their coffee is fantastic, and my favorite thing about it is that they always get it right. I mean, a breve isn't super difficult to make, but somehow this is one of the few places that doesn't mess it up. What little I've had from their breakfast and lunch menu was delicious and satisfying.
