Every single time my boyfriend & I come to this fred meyer we are treated like God damn criminals! I never write reviews on places, even if my visit was the most extroradinary time I've ever had somewhere or even if my service was the absolute worst. So here I am spending valuable time of my life that I won't ever get back to write this damn review in hopes that some big wig at Fred Meyers will see it Because I have had enough of this crap! And this is all because of one associate who works in the area that we always go to when we visit this Fred Meyers. My boyfriend & I are Hot Wheels collectors & any time we visit a store that we know has Hot Wheels we always go & check them out for new ones or old ones that we don't have! So this associate who works in the toy section at night, whose name I do not have, is always right in our personal space bugging us & not letting us be to ourselves while we go through them. I know a lot of people have seen what Hot Wheels displays look like. They have individual cars in packaging probably 8 to 10 on a single rack. They have about 6 or 7 single racks in a row, with probably 10 rows top to bottom. It's actually quite difficult to look through them & it can be quite messy, but that is all part of the fun. Until you are treated as if you are there to completely rob them of their HW display. We always end up going there during thier last business hour, because it's when we have time to. This associate will come up to us as we are looking through all the cars & asking us over & over & over again if we need help. We tell her politely that we are ok. Then she will stand over us picking up the hot wheels that we have either set down on the bottom of the rack or they have fell. She speaks rudely to us. She rushes us. She makes us feel quite uncomfortable the whole time we are there. We do not act suspicious in any way or give her any reason to believe that we are the type of people to shoplift. And every time we are there we are spending at minimum $30 & 2/3 of that is just on Hot Wheels. We understand that watching out for shoplifters is part of her job description, but this hasn't happened just once or twice, it happens EVERY SINGLE TIME we are there. She makes us feel as though we do not belong there! Tonight was the final straw! My boyfriend & I split up when we got there because I had to return an item. He told me after we left that first he went to the HW & this lady was eyeballing him the minute he walked up to them. She then proceeds to say "Find anything new?" He answered & told her he has found a couple things. She then asked if he collects them & he said yes. Then she said something extremely rude! She says to my boyfriend "I guess we all collect stupid things." Excuse me? What Type of customer service is that? STUPID THINGS? Just because it's stupid to you doesn't mean its stupid to somebody else. This is what we do & what we treasure as a couple. It's something that started as a cute gift for my boyfriend when he was in the hospital for 2 months because he loves cars & I wanted to help remind him of home while he was stuck there & it blossomed into something big that we do together! Then once I eventually made my way over to the Hot Wheels she was right on me as if I had already done something wrong. I put down the couple things I have in my hand & set my purse next to me on the floor & crouch down to start on the bottom row. She walks up right behind me, peering over my shoulder. She asks if I need help I say no. She walks away. But not to far...she's gotta make sure I'm in birds eye view.I stand up & start looking at the middle rows. She comes right over & goes over on the left hand side & is bending over & around a display that is set up right there to pick up the cars that have either fallen off the rack on to the platform or that I have set down. She keeps staring at me, I look at her & straight up say "why do you keep watching me? Do you think I'm gonna steal these hot wheels? I don't steal! I buy everything I want & have never given you a reason to think like you do!" She then continues on & says "this is my section. I am watching it & picking it up!" I told her she was making me nervous & that I was gonna go to my boyfriend! I yell for him cuz he is close by & she's telling me to leave her section & I did yell back at her to stop treating me like a theif! I have had enough with this lady & her talking crap to the other associates & having them all over us! We have never once not paid for an item! This is stereotyping. Just cuz I am hyper & a bit odd & my boyfriend looks like a thug doesn't mean we are bad people or make us bad people, so stop treating us as such! I will be in contact with the manager tomorrow to get this issue resolved & if the manager doesn't want to take care of this issue then I will go higher & higher up until I get the respect I deserve & treated like a normal 25 year old female! I like Fred Meyer's in general and think they have good prices. The service in the deli is horrible and that has been my experience time after time. I also find some of the staff to be rude and entitled. Unfortunately, I still think this is the best place to shop for groceries. read more

We love muffins and bought some from this store... Never again because I got a surprise this morning, hair baked right into my banana nut muffin and definitely not mine. My hair is dark and the "muffin hair" was light. What a nasty surprise early in the morning. read more

Love this fred meyers the only negative is the lady that tends to watch the self serv registers is incredibly unfriendly and rude.

I have shopped Freddy's for many years and this one is the best. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. People say Freddy's is more expensive than other stores but it is so worth it. Lots of sales and coupons galore. Plus you get rewards and gas points. I drive a truck and the gas points really come in handy. Chase Bank and the pharmacy truly make it one-stop shopping. Everything I need is there and the organic and natural foods sections are great. Lots of store brand options to save a buck too. I recommend everyone to shop at Fred Meyer :) read more

I have shopped Fred Meyer for years and am usually quite satisfied. Today I had a checker that could not care less about me. No conversation, rang up my order of over 300.00 without asking for my reward card. I mentioned it at the end and she looked irritated and said she didn't know what to do. She called over a supervisor and asked and the supervisor (without even acknowledging my presence) told her to have me take my receipt to Customer Service and they would fix it. The supervisor walked off and the cashier looked at me and said "you heard her", I told her I hadn't heard because they were not talking to me. She again looked irritated and told me to take my receipt to Customer Service and wait. I left the store. Why should I be penalized for the cashier's mistake? Maybe SHE should take my receipt to Customer Service and wait. I felt like I was brushed off and I certainly will not make Fred Meyer my go to store anymore. If they don't want my money, I'm sure some store does. read more

Have been having problems with both the store and pharmacy. Fred's has become just like Safeway with the long slow lines and lack of customer service. Used to be the best. What happened? Shelves not stocked, rude staff, not worth going there anymore. Was told by the pharmacist that they did not have my regular medicine that I had called in the day before and it indicated it would be ready. When I arrive she says they don't have any and would I go to 72nd street. I will not go to 72nd street. I explain I am going out of town and thought it would be ready, why didn't anyone call and warn me there was a problem? She really wanted me to go to 72nd street but I kept refusing. Finally she goes to the back and comes out and says she found some in a different dosage and asked if I was ok with that. I said yes, (by now I have been standing there for 20 minutes). She tells me to wait and she will fill it right away. I wait about 10 minutes, she calls me and low and behold she had my original drug in the right dosage! Said she "found" it in the back. On 11-23-2012 this Fred Meyer was closing at 4pm but had no notification at any entrance. After 10 minutes in the store "Matt" the top manager of the grocery department said to me as he walked by very fast "Mam, you have 1 minute to go to the register before it closes" and would not stop as I tried to ask him to specify if I did not make it I could not buy whats in my cart. So I was forced to assume that if I went to the other end of the store for the pumpkin pie that i still needed I could not buy anything. Luckily he was incorrect and was purely trying to pressure me without explanation. Then "Trevor" a grocery checker would not tell me his name but demanded I tell him why I wanted it. I believe they are friends and cover for each other. "Matt" should not even have a job there let alone be associated with management and let alone again be the head of it. As a previous employee of Fred Meyer for 2.5 years this offended me on a ridiculous level. I will never return to this Fred Meyer and find it hard to go to any other. I'd rather go to any other store like Winco, Safeway, Alberstons even Walmart or do without. One can expect to be treated horribly on every level from this location especially by management. read more

I live directly behind this Fred Meyer, and shop here about 1 time a day.. whenever I need something, it's simply right next door! Usually the employees are friendly and helpful, I have only removed one star for the unfortunately rude woman who sometimes works the self check out late at night, something rang up that was supposed to be 20% off (seahawks t-shirt!) and she made it pretty clear that she wasn't going to price check it for me.. i was uncomfortable, so i paid for the shirt and came back the next day for a price adjustment from customer service. HOWEVER, this review is mostly about what happened there today! Yesterday was terrible for me.. i was just running late all day and had to be in seattle by 6pm for a friend's birthday dinner.. I had bought a bottle of nice wine for her as a gift, and then 2 bottles of less expensive champagne just to drink at the party.. I put them each in separate bags because i didn't want them clanging up against each other, but the second i walked into the party (like i said, my day was going bad, so i did end up being about 30 minutes late and everyone was already there), the fred meyer shopping bag broke and of course the gift bottle (and the only red) was the one that broke all over the floor. Super embarrassing, and left me without a gift to give! Today I told them about what had happened and they replaced the bottle, no questions asked. Well, i'm not driving up to Seattle again anytime soon, so I enjoyed part of that bottle this evening, and I am happy I did. Thank you for amazing customer service!! read more
