The service was not friendly....they don't have garlic bread anymore. Italian place? No garlic bread? Instead they only have store bought rolls. The meatballs were those little ones you can buy in the frozen section of the grocery store. I know their taste very well. That's what they were. Ravioli. Again, store bought. If I want store bought I'll buy them myself. These were so obviously reheated in a microwave it's stupid. Parts of the raviolis were hard and a had just a tiny amount of filling. Part of the spaghetti noodles hard & mushy. I detect more microwave cooking here too. Does anyone know what happened to them? It's such a shame as it used to be a prime dining experience. This is no joke folks!! Go try it if you're brave enough..... oh yeah. Just open from 4:00 to 8:00 now.

The only disappointment was the minestrone soup - pretty bad and not hot. I will chock that up to being at the end of the night. The parking is a bit tricky (in back and one way), but the food is worth it. Overall experience was good and we will return.

Yes when they were open for all the years we would go to it. everything from the meals to the service was on point. Not only did it take a long time for anyone to even take our order, but they also forgot our waters. It took about 20 minutes before we received anything. We ordered drinks and two appetizers. One appetizer arrived after about 20 minutes, but our drinks didn't arrive until approximately 25 minutes after we ordered. While we waited, we observed several waiters standing around talking instead of helping customers. We also watched two other tables ask multiple times for their checks before finally receiving them. The staff didn't appear busy or overwhelmed, which made the delays even more frustrating. To make matters worse, several tables that were seated after us received their food before we did. After waiting a total of 40 minutes without receiving our second appetizer or even being offered drink refills, we had enough. We asked the busser for our check and requested to cancel the remaining appetizer because we were extremely frustrated at that point. Instead of a manager or supervisor coming to speak with us, the busser returned to tell us that we couldn't cancel the appetizer because it had already been prepared. We paid, took the meatballs to go, and left disappointed. Only then did our server come over and say, "Sorry, we got stacked up." No manager or person in charge ever came to apologize or address the situation. The person who appeared to be the manager simply dropped off our boxed food and walked away without saying a word. This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. I've dined here multiple times before and have always enjoyed both the food and the service, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, I will no longer support this business and will make sure to warn my family, friends, and colleagues to save their money and support businesses that value their customers and hire competent, attentive staff.

The bread was also disappointing in that it wasn't fresh - it was stale, which you never like to see because bread is inexpensive enough that you would hope they wouldn't service anything from a previous day to their guests. Service was responsive and friendly, and the wait for food wasn't long. The place itself was quite dated and I guess you could say "homey" and casual, but it seemed like with a little more effort it could strike a better balance between traditional/homey yet still appear like some effort was taken to make it a nice environment to eat. I didn't dislike the experience (or the food), I just feel it could all be improved with more attention to detail and the commitment not to serve something like stale bread, because it leads off the meal/dining experience and when you start off with something like that, it isn't great.

This place is really bad,my family just ordered 70 to 80$ worth of food and everything came cold,soggy,nasty,the people there don't speak English in order to let them know so they put the delivery driver on the phone and then she cussed us out would not refund our $ and said they can't even remake the stuff and bring it back and pick up old stuff. They say 45 mins and 1 hour and 20 mins later no wonder y it was so soggy also the meat balls r the size of quarters to top it of the cup one in half and made it look like 4 .the pizza ends were folded like if they threw it in the box ,the garlic cheese bread was stuck together and so soggy ,and they got poor Fred's face on the cover still he's for sure turning in his grave ,also was called racist when I'm Mexican 2 and asked them does anyone speak English, but I'm a racist white person said the delivery driver lol..this place is a big joke they need to close down now ,the health department needs to be called on this place ,and no it's not covid, the girls there r rude and disrespectful ,I hope they don't kiss there moms with that mouth,will never eat there again and I will be calling my bank and dispute this transaction since I will be taking the nasty food back . read more

I had a really disappointing experience here. The pizza was extremely greasy--so much so that it actually made us feel sick afterward. For the price, I expected much better quality, especially considering there are several other spots in town that offer far better food at a more reasonable cost. On top of that, the customer service was poor. When we walked in, the employee was on the phone and seemed more focused on that than helping customers. The interaction felt rude and unwelcoming, which only added to the negative experience. In Ventura Toppers Transmission Brewery you enter as their friend and valued customer, It's not Topper's fault that Oxnard Gonzales Toppers is so bad, it's just Oxnard Gonzales that stopped caring.
